Prof. Shimon Sakaguchi (Osaka University): Immune Tolerance and Regulatory T-cells, 20. 6. 2024

Professor Shimon Sakaguchi, a legend in contemporary immunology and the discoverer of a special type of white blood cells, was a guest at the Institute of Philosophy of the Czech Academy of Sciences in Prague. He contributed to the ongoing international discussion that places immunology in a new light and highlights philosophical approaches to science. During his visit, he gave a public lecture about the Immune Tolerance and Regulatory T-cells. Sakaguchi's visit took place as part of the interdisciplinary project "Immunity and Biological Resilience," led by Martin Zach from the Institute of Philosophy of the Academy of Sciences, which brings together experts in the fields of philosophy and immunology.
