Poslechnout si ho je většinou výborný intelektuální zážitek. 👍

This was seven years ago, but what he had to say has such relevance to the release of chatgpt, its reliance on the neural net paradyme and the concern that general intelligence might be an emergent property from this. Toward the end of this lecture, Chomsky states that neural scientists seem to be following the wrong path of searching for neural connections to explain the modern human development of language rather than looking for what must be a simple (because it happened almost instantaneously) cognitive processing change that resulted from genetic mutation. He seems to be saying that searching for a neural change may be too difficult because of the neural complexity of the brain and the way to go is to look for a symbolic, or perhaps mathematical representation of the cognitive processes. If this is true, Chatgpt will not get us to what they call "the singularity", although because of it's amazing simulation skills it still must be controlled so that it doesn't fool people regarding what is true, not to mention its impact on the service economy.

I can’t understand why this video is so unwatched and uncommented upon. Noam Chomsky is a true living legend and is possessed of a mind of historical significance. He has also, in many ways, demonstrated great courage. Much of the intellectual, theoretical, scientific, and technical record that he has created is essentially indisputable. It essentially transformed analytical philosophy into recognizable modern theoretical computer science and, simultaneously, created modern linguistics and reset scientific psychology. Some of the less technical interpretations he makes, I have been unable to agree with and yet do not find that to be any reason to not be in awe of the totality of the beautiful intellectual achievement he has given us. This lecture is excellent in my opinion, even including his introduction by a Charles University professor of mathematics. Honestly it is, for us in this time, as it would have been for others in a previous time listening to the likes of Newton or Descartes. I hope more people will listen to this lecture.

Vedle drancování a "vybydlování" planety, hrozby jaderných, chemický a biologických zbraní, zneužívání /a nadužívání/ technologií a propastné nerovnosti je strašlivý vztah člověka ke zvířatům jedním z nejpalčivějších problémů dneška.
