Just remember that if you move here from a blue state, you're not allowed to vote for 6 years. It takes about that long for people to go "oh... I get it now".
I enjoy watching these videos from Idaho. I’m from California and fell in love with the State of Idaho (Pocatello and IF). I want to take a trip to the treasure valley with the family, hoping to fall in love with the area (seriously considering moving). Only thing that is stopping me is the pay for nurses…
Boise can be a good choice. Just be aware. Very hot in summer. Very cold in winter. I, also think your cost estimates are off. A decent 1 bedroom in Boise is $1,600. Electric bill in Kuna in summer can be $600-700 per month. No issues with restuarants.
I'm waiting to see if ranked choice voting and open primaries ballot measures pass in Idaho. If they do, I'm not going to make the move. Ranked choice voting and open primaries are so terrible. It's institutionalized election rigging. Hopefully Alaska will repeal them and go back to normal electoral rules.
Just by them being on the ballot tells you that it's a matter of time before idaho turns blue and as the guy in the video said,if you're coming from california, chances are your neighbor is from california,he might not should have said that.
Currently working in California's silicon valley and having watch it's growth over the last 35+ years. If the Treasure Valley is expecting growth in the tech industry, I hope the locals will understand there will be more opportunities for everyone. The hospitality, recreational, housing, and school trades will have significant draw for hiring. There will be major cultural and societal changes, my concerns is the apprehension of locals not able or willing to accept these changes. Diversity is a hard pill to swallow for some. Always appreciate the insights you guys offer.
@@马k thank you!l so much and i think it will head that way for sure. I think now since the Boise area has been discovered it’s just a matter of time before it all catches up including the tech industry expanding or relocating their operations here.
@@GoIdaho last year when I visited the treasure valley, my local buddies were teasing about e-vehicles and it's a California thing. I can see more e-vehicles and charging stations ramping up there. Granted the winter months will slow the use down but if you can squeeze 9-10 months out of it😉
@@alisonpaulson5564 great question! There are so many options to choose from. You can also look at group insurance. I’m not as up to speed on health insurance. Seems like there are so many variables with each individual, it’s hard to know exactly what the insurance rates are here.
@@GoIdaho I’ve got 6-9 months left in Ca.. got to sell the house and then we’re out. It’s between Boise metro and Georgetown Texas right now. Idaho is currently winning on weather. Micron constantly lays off, Amazon bootsya if you don't meet their numbers high turn over rate. Jobs do suck here, crime is growing in Boise. A lot of shootings last week in Boise.
Are Idaho people hostile to Californians who move to Idaho. As an adult, that's a problem I can handle, but I don't want my young granddaughter (who we adopted) to be bullied in school because she's from California.
Bigfoot;) lol. Retirement friendly for Boise area? The real concern for most people I speak to (including myself) regarding the boise area is not being mormon or super right wing and not getting hassled for either one.
@@Lululila67 ohh man, i think that is a misconception. There are sooo many different religions here. It definitely is a Christian community though and you will find a mix of politics. The further outside of Boise the more it leans right.

LOL, as a resident of a blue state (hate it), this is a good advice!😂
Seems fair and prudent to me.
