I bought this scooter for the summer. (Target 90 day return policy) the scooter has the strength to climb hills which the previous scooters i owned couldn't do (gotrax tour) but because it has no shocks or thick air tires, is a bumpy ride and can shoot pain into your neck and spine. Some scooters may not have shocks but the tires are big enough to absorb alot of shock. It goes 15 mph and has enough battery for a good 4 mile trip. Atleast for me since I have hills to go up at work and home. Remebr whatever the hour rating or mile range is dependent on the terrain you drive in. If is flat you might get water they advertise for, but if is hills your gonna get 3-4 miles. And when i say 3 miles i mean once the battery gets halfway your done. The scooter won't perform at peek power, it'll be slower, and won't climb hills. Most if not all scooter provide a decent performance for the first 3 to 4 miles. After that is down hill very quickly. Keep that in mind. I like the changing lane blinkers , even tho they don't work because whoever ever is behind you won't see them since your body covers it, at night I love it because cars can see me half mile away with the led turn signals and atheist shoot awareness to them that I'm on the road. It does have a locking mechanism but you have to use the app which is stupid. I never liked that about Segway. You have to use the app for lights settings locking. I wish it was manual. The gotta tour comes with a built in combo lock steel chain. While that can be cut with wire cutters, it helps deter crackheads and other quick thieves. Where as the Segway you lock it with the app. But nothing is stopping anyone from throwing it inside their sub or pickup truck and driving away with it. Is kind of stupid. The lights will also drain your battery so ambient lighting is just a gimmick. Save your battery. Also if your phone dies you can't lock the scooter. As I said before is dumb that these things depend on an app. When I say manual scooter I mean hand controlled from the buttons. The gotta has a password lock 4 digit code and a built in combo chain. So that on its own was a gift for me specially for riding in Manhattan. Quickly lock it up to scaffolding or street pole/ post. Think about what your getting and think about the situations you'll find yourself in. Stay away from gimmicks. Gimmicks distract users from what's at stake. Led color lights under the scooter is an asthetic not a life saver. And eats your battery so don't fall for stupid options like that. Whatever you do, wear a helmet, Your more prone to fall off the scooter because it teaches you to brake with your left hand, but often to do that maneuver it requires your left hand to rest flat on the left handle bar, any slight bump on the street or low dip like a mild pothole can make the scooter wobble and loose control and itl be to late for your left hand to correct it since you were worried about having the hand ready for braing instead or you were thinking bout breaking in time. This happened to me and when I went back to the site I rode over it again and nothing explained why I busted my ass hard. That design is quite dangerous for a platform that you stand on, wear a helmet and keep your hands tight on both sides and use your pointer finger on the break if is strong enough to brake atleast youl slow down. Because these scooter will slide when you break hard. Honestly if you can avoid getting a scooter. Do it. Is a death sentence but if your getting it for fun or because you have to. Just know the limits you must consider.
Get a good quality u lock and a chain lock. Slow thieves down from stealing it. My lesson to you, my crappy u lock got cut and my scooter was almost stolen if I didn't put it on lock mode. My scooter would be gone. U lock and chain lock your scooter first then turn on your app and lock your scooter from your phone.
Don’t buy it. I bought mine and received a used scooter. I contacted Segway and provided proof photos. They offered me a $20 coupon for my next purchase but I refused and wanted to return. They issued me a return label but the return and refund conditions were laughable. They can take the scooter back and still refuse to refund. I chose to walk away. So beware of their shady business dealings.

I just got one of these and wondering how to lock it up somewhere when not allowed to bring it inside a building?
Very late response but you can always get a bike lock. Just any sort of lock for it and you’ll be good

Thank you as mine had to be installed and zero instructions from Segway! My Segway max was fully installed unlike the less expensive E2 scooter.
So THIS is the guy they make signs and red tape for...
Is there something wrong with mine? Everytime I lift mine it comes apart and stops working.
