Dude; I like how quick you’re moving ahead. You’re absolutely not “just beginning”. Watching you I get the feeling you have passed all your “Fail” phases and straight went to full on succesful plan of release to RUclips. Love it, man. Beat me to my plan that I failed at.
Haha thanks man, I wish I could just jump past the fail phase. Unfortunately I’m still in it big time! I can’t tell you how many lighting setups I try that don’t work and project ideas I try to make and fail. Just what ends up being half decent is what makes it to the internet. Honestly I feel like we will never stop failing we will just have more successes than failures.Really appreciate you watching man!!
Hey Carsten. It would be cool if you do a breakdown of finding the right composition for the shot in a more advanced style. For example, what techniques do you use? What do you like to show in the foreground/background? Contrast of dark and light. The number of objects and colors in the frame. What color palette do you prefer to use and how do you find it? Maybe something about rule of space, negative space like in mr.Robot and how it works. I know that photographers speak about this a lot. But in filmmaking world looks like everyone just stuck to basic frame in frame / rule of third and do not speak about other stuff.
Hahaha in my first couple vids I’d try to cut out the voice cracks but there are too damn many. So now they stay in lol. Appreciate you my dude! Glad you enjoyed it!!
@@carstenschlag It's simply a part of you, a recognizable feature. I like it haha :). Just keep making the videos, they are very helpful and just lovely to watch. Best regards from Germany!
I wish I was doing more of this in my pre-pro of my last film. I spent a lot of time hand drawing stills that I think would've been enhanced had I referenced actual stills. That would've sped up the process for me.
Yeah man I started out doing the same thing and can speak from experience, using good reference images is so much better than drawing. Your final result will be sooo much better! Appreciate you watching man !!
First 😁 on a serious note frames help so much because when you get on set the work done tends to limit you from remembering what you originally envisioned. Thanks for sharing this man.
Great advice; sound, visual building block to help everyone enrich the environment and vision of their mind's eye to carry everyone forward into the ideal frame of mind 👍🏼
solid as always. could you make a video about simplifying things when it comes to lighting? I was find myself struggling with what fixtures should I bring with me, i'd like to have a 1-2 lights that would fit most of my work(interviews ,corp and music videos) unless it's something really complicate and i'll hire a gaffer for it.
Thanks Danny! Yeah man I can definitely put that in the works! Off the top of my head I’d say tube light and a bi color powerful mono light. But I’ll take some time and think and make an in depth vid!! Appreciate you man!
Totaly agree with comments. I am using 2 tube light (Viltrox k60 - 20w RGB), Colbor c60r with NPF platform and 60cm softbox or spotlight and F22C if i need powerfull key. That works for a lot of scenarios.
I actually had to stop your vid to check whether another tab was making noice in the BG. I believe @superhappygiantrobot is just that - a bot that is sharpening its sarcasm skills..
Hey, thanks again for the amazing content. I am currently in the process of pre-production for my short film. When you print out the reference images from Milanote do you find it a bit small to look to see? Do you end up just viewing the images on a phone or iPad with the Milanote app. I am trying to decide if to print out my storyboard for the film. Thank you
Hey man! Thank you so much! It is def small when you print it out but I find it easier to deal with than the Milanote mobile app (which sucks) plus print outs you can write on and give out to the whole crew. Hope that helps!!
