Dr. Manorani Sarwanamuththu was our family doctor. In 80’s she practiced at a clinic in Grand Pass - Colombo 13/14. A beautiful & kind lady. I could remember her wearing colourful sarees, big round specs, smelled nice & fresh. She always wore a jasmine on her hair ( a top knot). She spoke about her son, Richard with my parents. At that time he was reading news on Rupavahini. It was so devastating to hear what happened to Richard. This incident made my parents dislike Sri Lanka.

When I was in Sri Lanka in mid 90's I happen to ask about Richard's death from a cousin of mine who is in export business having good connections. He was bit reluctant to talk about this but he said,that he had heard, the intention of the helicopter crew who took Richard's body strung to a rope, was to drop in the deep sea. But the rope had snapped and the body had fallen on shallow sea. That's why the body was washed up at Koralawella beach within few hours.

It’s good revealing these incidents.But highlighting names of Premadasa,Ranjan,Ranil Sajith who was not in that government What’s the motive behind that.Richard is a calm and very timid guy.Once I was closely associating with him before his death.Still I have a big question on him due to certain incidents occurred.I have experience how J V P acted on innocent people those days.
There is blood on the hands of the then government and equally as well as the JVP. I remember when schools, government institutions, tea factories government offices and transportation were ordered to close by the JVP and everything came to a stand still, and Sri Lanka became a non productive country. Several innocent government workers as well as children were tortured and KILLED or taken away tortured and “disappeared“ never to be found. How many tea estate superintendents, school principals government officers, police officers were killed by the JVP for just doing their job to keep the country running? They were killed because they worked following government orders (disobeying JVP orders to abstain from working) to make a harmless living for their spouses and small children and were killed for doing their duty to the country regardless of who was in power. JVP policies have not changed although they now pretend to be innocent but are still violent as were seen in their recent protests. Their modus operandi is “gain power with any means by bringing the country to its knees and anarchy. Their method is violence using arson, to destruct public and private property as well as by murdering opponents. It is a fact that Gota was a horrible foolish president managed by his cronies that ruined Sri Lanka’s economy at the final stage. However since JR came into power as the president the country was steadily going down hill. Had Gota not eloped through the back door he could have been definitely killed by the angry mob that destroyed the president’s residence and looted some contents. How happy they would have been if they had the chance to kill him? There never was and never will be law and order in Sri Lanka with any existing political party including JVP that has a dark history. Like most others JVP is in the same category . As always the citizens are misled to believe in that party The general public will be will be fooled again as they had been for the past 75 years! Sajith plundered artifacts and treasures from ancient ruined archeological sites when his father ruled Sri Lanka. While he was digging for buried treasure he security was provided by closing down roads protecting him. While the area was closed to public they were notified that he was on a mission to save wild elephants!
