I'll be making a simple video journal as we go through getting the main high tunnel up to speed this season and documenting it incrementally for anyone interested :)

Happy growing!
You encourage me to think and make decisions about small things . . . a beautiful way to live.
That is so so sweet to read, thank you!
Pants?! Come on, go full Ruth Stout :) LOL
I like her style. I'll be planting peas with my walking cane some day I'm sure
Spring is coming! So hyped! In my garden I consider spring to be when the raspberries start to break bud, last year that was on march 1st here in zone 6b.
Seems early but we'll work with what we can!
😅 was hoping for Naked Farming.. burst my bubble 😅😅
Sean's promoting his OF account.
😂😂 WE CAN ONLY HOPE 🙏🙏😍😍🙏😍
We are getting warm + pretty days here in KY... I'll be getting out tomorrow and doing some fruit tree pruning I think and some cleanup in my potager.
Enjoy!
We got one day of ‘false spring’ this weekend in between the rain this weekend.
We've had so many this winter!
Looking good!
Thanks!
This is great! Have you ran the hens through for a controlled few hours to do a little of that work for you ?
I like the concept in a way but they would just be too destructive in a context like this
Wait-Shirtless Sean! Did you ALSO get the invitation to appear in the Permaculture Daddies calendar?! I thought it was just me!
No invitation yet :)
@@edibleacres 😂
The whole winter months every day every minute those plants fed the soil microbes with sugars/root exudades. So it was like a free fertilising /enhancing of the overall fruitfullnes for coming spring and summer. 🤷🏻♂️
Great reminder, yeah... The figs and rosemary and other perennial elements in here will be key to long term soil health
Thats funny I was going to ask if you had pants on :-D I was thinking of that today as I was filming some Bee Keeping and its already hot enough here in Alabama that I have to strip down before I dawn mt michelin tire man bee suit ;-)
Yep, there were pants, at least I said there were :)
It'll be good to catch up, I'll follow up with your email soon!
Is that the Farmers Friend high tunnel?
It is, the 'gothic arch' 14x50 we bought back in early 2020... 2 for $2000 at the time I think with free shipping, wow things have changed!
maybe should have tried some kale cuttings and stick them in just where the soil was hydrated well, and look at the difference with the stool layering? But thank you for the good information once again...
Definitely opportunity for much more thorough and thoughtful experiments on this front... If I can get more bandwidth I'll explore more and share how it goes
Can all kale root through cuttings?
What part of the country are you growing in?
I think they're northeast New York, Connecticut maybe.
new york, near ithica
Finger Lakes region of NY
We are Ithaca/Trumansburg NY. Central NY Finger Lakes now zone 6B
