But that's just looking at the past through rose-colored glasses. Too many metalheads are stuck in the past, at least in my opinion. I don't care how old an album is; if it's got incredible songwriting chops, creativity, attitude, musicianship, and just all-around passion, then it's a classic. I've heard a lot of adjectives slung at Vektor's music: sci-fi, prog, concept, blackened - and I think all are true to a greater of lesser degree. This band aren't just faithfully following the style of 80's thrash bands like a lot of revivalists are doing (not that there's anything wrong with that), but they're treading entirely new ground, and subsequently redefining what thrash is and CAN BE. Also, they've gained a great deal of underground success and a cult-like following with their boundary pushing music, and all without any airtime or music videos. Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't that EXACTLY how Metallica started out?

Feels really weird when you think about it. "Listen you little shit, grandpa's gonna tell you about the great music around when he was in high school."
This is, without a doubt, one of the best albums I’ve ever heard. Been listening to it constantly over the last couple months and it still truly blows me away. David DiSanto’s musical vision is fucking godly and he has the creative/technical/intellectual ability to put it on full display - this is a truly transcendent contribution to the metal world. If you’re as into this album as I and haven’t FULLY delved into the lyrics, I would implore you to do so. Just listened/read through them all from start to finish for the first time and was left speechless. The story told stuck so many chords - moving, soulful, thought-provoking… just incredible. Thank you, Vektor (David). Rock the fuck on.
I was going to comment something witty but I had to be rushed to the hospital to have my jaw re-attached to my face, holy chocolate cheesecake was that an insane ride!
Admittedly I wasn't buying into all of the hype over this album. But now that I've given it some time... I can sort of see why everyone is losing their mind over this album. This is impressive.
This generation? How about Leviathan, Melana Chasmata, As the Palaces Burn, In Times, The Blackening, The Anthropocene Extinction, Ghost Reveries, Vermin, Death Is This Communion, The Red Album, I could go on and on. Great album but not the best of this generation
Been listening for a few years now, still cant get my head around how good this band is, they're really at some next level musicianship and never fail to capture a lot of emotion despite all the technical trickery
The more I listen to this, the better it gets. I started out with Collapse being the only standout for me (nearly reduced me to tears on a first listen), then Charging and Recharging the Void started growing on me, followed by realising how fucking awesome LCD is, especially the first breakdown. Best album I've heard in years, and it just keeps getting better with every listen.
the only songs i haven’t done a replay button rapefest with are pillars of sand and collapse. but still it feels wrong to pause them or play another song while they’re playing.
Wow, Collapse at 51:25 surprised me ... didn't expect that. I like when trash metal bands allow themselves to be melodically expressive from time to time. This was really nice
+Goreface69 The expansion of the universe is accelerating though. For every million parsecs of distance from the observer, the rate of expansion increases by about 67 kilometers per second. The expansion of the universe has been accelerating for roughly 5 billion years.

I just want a novel based on the lyrics. Was listening to this album for 2 years now and found out just now that it is a concept album telling an actual story. I'm not a native speaker and I was listening to the music in general which is absolutely amazing, and with the lyrics it makes it even more incredible. Hands down, I wish Vektor will get the shit together again and record something at least as good as Terminal Redux. One of the best if not the best modern thrash metal album.
Many people tend to believe that art and virtue are interconnected. They are not. Some of best artists ever were pure assholes in personal life. The humankind does not therefore dismiss their work as useless. Probably painting and sculpture has the densest population of worst assholes ever, but you find them in music too. It has nothing to do with the quality of music itself. This is still an immortal masterpiece!
I hate to be 'that guy' but I bought the double vinyl the same week it came out :) I also had the privilege of seeing them play live back in August, and they were fucking phenomenal.
Vektor has always struck me as a "Primitive Future" band. Like I can so picture a young Luke Skywalker zooming out to "Toshi Station" to pick this album up along with some "Power Converters" and having this cranked on his sound system when he comes back to "The Farm" and his Unkel Owen Larz harshing at him!
I just discovered this band. It is fresh air in this time where finding creative mental bands is quite difficult. I've been a metal fan for more than 25 years.
To say that this album is a technical marvel is a dire understatement. I was just thinking that Pteropticon is one of the most masterful thrash songs I've ever heard, but then the album kept playing and I remembered that this whole album is a fucking masterpiece. Before I listened to Terminal Redux, I thought that Outer Isolation was the best that Vektor could do (which was exemplary - holy shit) but they've completely blown me away with this album!
+Cameron Amey On the money. It seems to me (so far, a lot of listening yet to do) LCD, Pteropticon and Collapse are AMAZING in a way I felt about some of the tracks on Outer Isolation, or better, but the rest of this album is just a trip from start to finish. What can you say
***** Yeah, and it will grow on you more and more as you listen to it, i think it's safe to say that it's already in my top 10 thrash albums of all time. This WILL be considered as a timeless classic thrasterpiece after 10-20 years from now just like rust in peace and other classics.
I´ve been listening to this album for three days non-stop. I can´t put into words the huge amount of feelings this album triggers inside me. And it´s just the beginning.
6:5014:081:08:12 all these moments give me chills up my spine. Vektor is such a special band, they have such a mastery of emotional resonance in melody
Ok, I have listened to lots of music but have to say that this is the most likely the best music or album ever. Whoever recommended to me on this channel ... you did the good thing!
Vektor has seriously checked all the boxes and have provided us with one of the best slabs I've heard in decades. I would never give a 10/10 on an album as there's always something I wish could be better, but I find after years of listening to this record, I have yet to find fault. There is nothing I would want to improve on in this and It's very very close to a perfect 10. At least for me !
Ive passed up listening to this a few times since its release, it just wasnt doing anything for me but man now its sinking in just how epic it is, especially once you read along with the lyrics and make out the story
MY biggest gripe was the vocals. The music is sheer brilliance but his vocals are just....I dunno. When he "sings" in his lower registry it sounds good (even his cleans are decent) but those high ranged shrieking screams are just ear piercing to me. If the musician was average, I wouldn't give this band a second thought. It's the song writing and the musicianship that made me keep coming back. It's phenomenal.
This is like Atheist had an illicit liaison with Death and had two children, named Early Gory Blister & Vektor. Their grandparents Watchtower and Cynic would be so proud.
I came across this album about two months ago, didn't know Vektor before. I listen to it every morning when arriving at work. I can't get bored and I think I never will. Thank you Vektor, thank you, thank you.
Vektor is for sure one of the most interesting and honest bands in metal today, it´s nice to hear something fresh in this times. It´s a pleasure to get lost in this tunes.

*****
IKR!? This is one of best fuckin albums EVER
***** Its lost a little bit of power for me recently, but thats probably because Ive been listening to it non stop
I agree!
+MrRictusGrin feel free to check out the site.

Admittedly I wasn't buying into all of the hype over this album. But now that I've given it some time... I can sort of see why everyone is losing their mind over this album. This is impressive.
Back to 80's & 90's We Have the Big 4. Now we Have the Big VEKTOR!!! This Album is UNIQUE!!!!
When it comes to albums of the new era. I don't think any other bands can overtake Terminal Redux. Vektor is the true masterpiece of this generation.
Vektor>your name drops
Nah, Melana Chasmata destroys this
Masterpiece?Average at best weak vocals that don't fit. The new release from Allegaeon is a masterpiece check out their cover of Subdivisions by Rush
Lou Manfredi Allegaeon sucks lol
Been listening for a few years now, still cant get my head around how good this band is, they're really at some next level musicianship and never fail to capture a lot of emotion despite all the technical trickery
All their albums are absolute masterpieces!
The Mad Thrasher i love dirty rotten imbeciles!!¡!!!
The more I listen to this, the better it gets. I started out with Collapse being the only standout for me (nearly reduced me to tears on a first listen), then Charging and Recharging the Void started growing on me, followed by realising how fucking awesome LCD is, especially the first breakdown. Best album I've heard in years, and it just keeps getting better with every listen.
the only songs i haven’t done a replay button rapefest with are pillars of sand and collapse. but still it feels wrong to pause them or play another song while they’re playing.
literally same bro
masterfuckingpiece
Agreed!!!
Wow, Collapse at 51:25 surprised me ... didn't expect that. I like when trash metal bands allow themselves to be melodically expressive from time to time. This was really nice
Easily the best part of the record
This album is very good. Easily a 10/10 album.
Vektor/10 !
I was a big fan of Black Future.
I guess the universe keeps accelerating.
Great job Vektor!
+Vasco Fernandes You mean expanding?
+Goreface69 it's a reference to their song "accelarating universe"
Vasco Fernandes Dammit.
+Goreface69 The expansion of the universe is accelerating though. For every million parsecs of distance from the observer, the rate of expansion increases by about 67 kilometers per second. The expansion of the universe has been accelerating for roughly 5 billion years.
+Daniel Giles thank you for the awesome knowledge. ACCELERATING UNIVERSE!!!
Those backing vocals in the two "Void" songs - they're beautiful.
I absolutely WORSHIP this album ....
best thrash album since '80ties
+Ivars Bergs All I can say is that I have followed Metallica, Megadeth, Overkill, Sodom and some of Slayer, Testament and others but I feel that all of that has led me to Vektor, where now, I stand and can't move to any other direction. If I was going to start a sect this would would it: A Sect Of Vektor ... care to join? ... lol
Reminds me of Death. Been dead for how long now and you still can here Chuck in modern music.
This is the best album that I know.

This aged well, the gods have spoken (last year) about writing new shit. Kinda late to the party, let's wait together!
"My band tunes down to double B-flat!"
"We tune up to F..."
(Hides in shame...)
This is still an immortal masterpiece!
im so badass that i bought this cd.
way to show support, they are nice guys who deserve the recognition and our $$$, god knows they earned it w/ all 3 albums
lucky, I just bought a terminal redux shirt. wish I could afford both
I hate to be 'that guy' but I bought the double vinyl the same week it came out :)
I also had the privilege of seeing them play live back in August, and they were fucking phenomenal.
The Grorgandorfa fucking lucky man. They came to my hometown 2 days ago, but it was a 21 and over show so I ended up getting fucked over
Just got the double vinyl recently, I'm glad i got it before the end of the year, and yes i also feel badass for buying it lmao
Copy ordered after 2 min of listening. Amazing stuff!
This is fantastic! What a great recommendation.
This is so well said
Space metal confirmed
Not Luke.. some Sith with ideas of conquering a universe!
R.I.P Princess Leia
hahaha
Ok, it's official now. THIS is the new Rust in Peace. For me atleast.
***** Yeah, and it will grow on you more and more as you listen to it, i think it's safe to say that it's already in my top 10 thrash albums of all time. This WILL be considered as a timeless classic thrasterpiece after 10-20 years from now just like rust in peace and other classics.
Samuel Saarinen Another album that grew on me the more I listened to it was Serpents Unleashed by Skeletonwitch.
Give it a listen when you have time.
You say what? Rust in peace mops the floor with this shitty album
RIP is the only album that comes close to this imo
I´ve been listening to this album for three days non-stop. I can´t put into words the huge amount of feelings this album triggers inside me. And it´s just the beginning.
RIP this beautiful band.
6:50 14:08 1:08:12
all these moments give me chills up my spine. Vektor is such a special band, they have such a mastery of emotional resonance in melody
This is beautiful album, best release in this year
Now all we need is band called scalar.
has to be spelled Skalar though
@@fadiel-riachi6675 it is done rateyourmusic.com/artist/skalar
Ok, I have listened to lots of music but have to say that this is the most likely the best music or album ever. Whoever recommended to me on this channel ... you did the good thing!
best metal album since rust in peace change my mind
better than rust in my opinion
The cover art is extremely similar to "Thresholds" by Nocturnus. Either way, a masterpiece.
+KGB1990 They certainly show their influences: Logo looks similar to Voivod and album art similar to Nocturnus. I agree, great record!
+Travis Bos there are also some similarities with Coroner... great stuff indeed
LOVE Coroner!
\m/
So was the "thresholds" album I thought even though "the key" was probably better ...love those 2 albums anyways. Mike Browning out = gayness
And the name of the album is basically the same as the Aborted EP, but still this is fucking awesome
I am fucking speechless, it's been a very long time since an album has done this. This is fucking art.
imo This is the most ground breaking thrash album since Rust In Peace
Ive passed up listening to this a few times since its release, it just wasnt doing anything for me but man now its sinking in just how epic it is, especially once you read along with the lyrics and make out the story
i was the same way, by the 5th listen i think i finally was able to take it all in, now its album of the goddamn year, by a long shot
It's phenomenal.
it took me a few listens but they've grown on me
The best....since last century !!!!!....on the throne next to Death !!!!
+paulo vilarinho well, now...stop Blasphemies....
+Flaviano Bin mad cuz bad
death is classic nothing like this band at all death led all these bands to this place
Alright, time to see what all the fuss is about
+The Modern Hermeticist The first track alone should do the trick, haha.
+The Modern Hermeticist annnddd??? Lol
same ees true for the other albums
Remember to keep your hands and feet within the confines of the ship at all times. Enjoy the ride.
@@Mr7IA It did
This is like Atheist had an illicit liaison with Death and had two children, named Early Gory Blister & Vektor. Their grandparents Watchtower and Cynic would be so proud.
Coroner is the godfather and Toxik the godmother.
Nocturnus is the grandfather.
Holy fuck what part of Hell did the thrash metal short-bus just drop me off at??..THIS IS FUCKIN EXCELLENT !!
Cygnus Terminal is a certified face melter!
I came across this album about two months ago, didn't know Vektor before. I listen to it every morning when arriving at work. I can't get bored and I think I never will. Thank you Vektor, thank you, thank you.
I'm here for the old vocals 💔
don't panic - it's just one short track for split/EP
@@ivarsbergs4280 I hope so.
Still preorderd :D
🤞🤞🤞🤞
They finally blossomed into the juggernaut of creativity they were always supposed to be
One of the best albums of the decade imo.
One of the best albums of the decade. I truly love the Vektor sound.
Vektor is for sure one of the most interesting and honest bands in metal today, it´s nice to hear something fresh in this times. It´s a pleasure to get lost in this tunes.
Randomly walked into these guys set at Bloodstock this weekend. They fucking nail it live. New fan right here.
This is like a collection of all my favorite metal bands riffs, in a nutshell.
Pteropticon is an increasingly addictive song
An all time great record.
12:25 - One of the best riffs I've heard in years
Apokalithosis or Born of Hate you must hear "SUICIDAL ANGELS"
Urgent!
yes
