He had an in-depth understanding of suspension geometry and its operation (two wheeled cycles) but more importantly the physics and dynamics at the design inception, he just had to fabricate a prototype of his ideas to obtain his proof of concept, and have a starting point in order to dial in the design geometry for optimum function! He had an epiphany!

No other bike company builds their front ends to attached to the frame as he does, with all the other companies when you turn the front wheel the whole frame moves several inches both ways, why don't ALL the other bike companies build better front ends? I would think BMW would be the first to copy Sugar Bears front end in the way it attaches to the frame but have not, I have a BMW and can tell you they do not nor do their new bikes, WHY NOT? So all riders on other bikes will with out being aware of it will continue to have to fight when there should be none at all and most riders may not have any idea of the fight but as a physicist who has studied most front ends in depth I understand it completely, Sugar Bear did a great thing in putting this set up together, thank you so very much Sir. I'd love to have one of your bikes but don't ever think I could afford one as I'm about as poor as one can be. I stated I have a BMW, a very used one, 2009, just bought it with funds owed to me for some time and the bike is quite high mileage, 54k. Don't feel sorry for me being poor though, I had three really bad car accidents that really messed up my back and put me on disability at age 50 in 2002 and I'm 66 now, the accidents turned my life up side down but I've gotten on with life and done the best I could. I've built several chops in the early 70's, they were great, sold them, I've been riding as long as Sugar Bear has, again well done Sir.

@@europrowlr Sugarbear and his half century of ground zero involvement in the art and science of the American street chopper has been undeniably clear to the legions of men and women that were building riding and showing the world that choppers were a way bigger deal than a jazzed up Harley.when the Honda and Kaw fours were in so many Garages the parts to turn ho hum caterpillars into outrageous state of the art fire breathing butterflies ,Sugarbear was all in.He was of the mindset that didn't bind him to choppers having to be Harleys. The first hardtailed springer forked Molly metalflaked and molded 750 honda chopper was under the ass of sugarbear on the cover of Tom and Rose's monthly Chopper (street chopper?) Magazine. The mcmullens ran articles that featured pics of bear riding chopped harleys that. any IQ 90 brain freeze could connect to the Hopper/ Fonda builds. In 1969 this 12 year old chopper junkie was 100% up to speed with the easy rider bikes.who what when where why. All the mainstream media contributions over the years that made up some of the most pitiful piss poor bullshit about the E/R bikes never even once was the topic of conversation .All who were there was plugged into the life and Yosemite sam Radolf Ron finch Tony Carlini Mike Brown were all happy to let me get closerthanthis to the best of the best at the Detroit cyclorama. The idea that there was a deliberate effort to cloud the origins of the chopper and the people that were fortunate enough to go to work in the morning and build choppers never wavered far from the art. There wasn't time for all the rockstar bullshit.

Aren't bikes supposed to be exciting transportation? These bikes appear to have no purpose other than act as a stage to put on a fucking show. As an example any fool knows that shocks work better than a Hard tail. A short stroke multi cylinder engines makes triple the HP of an old iron flywheel pushrod engine etc I think these people who build choppers priorities are fucked up!

Bear's springers handle well because of the correct rocker geometry. Bear knows all about correct rake/trail. I remember Dick Allen's springers too. Freddie Hernandez used to build long springers in SoCal. Fat's Sportster Heaven (good shop). Good stuff. Personally, I've always ran "glide" forks (no longer than six-over). Build safe / ride safe.
