Hi Joe. You love it more complicated, don`t you? 🙂 You`re installation(s) is(are) very adventurous, means you took the long way home, but it got you there. Many different ways lead to Rome. 🙂 A simple power supply with max. 30V and 10A would usually solved all your demands and the amount of money you had spent on all that, next to the time you invested, should have been spent rather on a quality power supply. Means a power supply with a galvanic isolation. With that, you would be always on the save side. I would not trust other and maybe cheap power supplies. To explain you the advantage and necessity I would save you from now, because I don`t want to write it too long here. You may check that yourself, why a galvanic isolated power supply is better than those cheap Chinese power supplies, that many use in the community, who are not electricians and are just regular users. For them, a simple just works fine. I don`trust those ones at all though. I had to build a power supply myself during my apprenticeship to become an Electrician. So, I know what I am doing and talking about! The overpower of Voltage doesn`t matter, because the tracks you are riding wilh, only soak up as much as they need. The reserve is good to have though. Therefore a 30V/10A power supply I suggested to you in the beginning. A good power supply with the Ampere-Meter is necessary. It has become standard on those Chinese power supplies, but I woud use connector cables, where you can hook up a Voltmeter into the output jacks, to be asurd, that the output is really the value you have choosen. That is a secured back up. It is connected parallel than, but if you want to instal an Ampere-Meter, you need to connect it in a serial way. Means, you need to cut the power leading cable and hook up the Plus and Minus Line into that cable in series. If you plan to do it, use shrink tubes to cover the blank cables. Not duct tape, or other tape. It is mandatory to cover all the power guiding cables, connectors and what have you, for isolation. If you make a mistake, or an electrical failure appeaers and you set up a fire, your insurance won`t pay and the costs for the fire fighters next all other damages you cause with it, will be on you. Even covers made of any metal, or aluminum must be connected to the ground, if you use them. A plastic body (dry wood works, too) cover would avoid that, but if there are any metal parts comming out/off on the plastic cover, you have to ground those parts! Those Chinese power supplies often only work, if there is an on-load connected to the Ampere Output, to check the Amperes comming out. To be honest, I would leave my hands of those Chinese Products at all. But that is me, a German who was tought, to think save and in quality manners. But I can sleep very well every night than! This could ruin your whole life! So, if you are not an Electrician and if you are not advised in such, you have to pay the consequences. Never underestimate that and never play with your life and others. Jens small fir extinguisher was a good call, but that one is too small, if a fire lights up on different spots at the same time. One, or two fire blankets would be a good helper, as well. Not to keep yopu warm though! But to repeat myself, if you, or anyone who reads this, is not an Electrician, or advvised professionally Person, get your hands off from electrical devices. To be struck by Electricity is dangerous to ones life. Even an electrical shock with less than 1 Ampere can be lethal!!! You cannot see the injury on the outside of your body, but if you get shocked, you better see a Doctor, cause you might have been shocked badly on the inside! That would harm your inner organs and can lead to a slow and painful death! So be warned! Sorry, now it has gotten longer, but this is madatory!

@@IrrerasCarrera If so, will he cover you, when you get hit by an electrical shock? Than, he should be insulated 🙂 The power chord you, or he assemled together shines no good light on you, or either him, if he is an elelctrician. In Germany we differntiate between Fahrlässig = negligent, Grob Fahrlässig = grossly negligent and Vorsätzlich = with intent, in the justice system. We have restrictions ruled by the VDE. You can read and he, too, what the VDE is all about on Wikipedia. Also in Englisch. The case would be up by a judge, if s.o. gets hurt here by an electrical shock, who is responsible for that, what one of those three points I had described, the judge has to consider and how high the fine would be in his conviction. That is the aspect in terms of the law here. Going on YT and spreading such is also an aspect to consider for a legal case by a judge, if s.o. gets hurt. Keep that in focus. This all may sound a little overdriven, but the reality is sometimes a bitter one! Did you read my comment on the clip by this dude, that calls himself the slotcar master? That is one of those non-experts that manipulated on the Carrera Cotnrol Unit and did just wrong, in terms of the tin-plate he installed on the device, with no Ground Connection. An electrucal shock is no fun and this, what he did was: negligent, because he opened the seal, grossly negligent, because he did not Ground the plate and the therefore insulated the Mutl-Connector, means it is not touch protected and with intent, because he stated, that one would loose its warrenty. This warrenty also includes the safety against the protection to recieve an electrical shock, bcause it is touch protected. He would not only be punished by the law, no he would also have to expect , that Carrea would file a law suit against him. Those manipulations can be dangerous and also very cost-intensive! If you are manipulating in private, you can do what ever you want to, unless no one gets hurt, It is your own risk, but beware of the consequences, if a person, or property damage happenjs. Than, the fun is over!
