Your comment reminds me of a phenomenon where if you carefully split someone's brain in half, as in down the center where the big line is, you will still live, but the left and right sides of your body will be desynced, and people who have had the procedure done say that one hand might literally disagree with another. I'm not saying this is what happened with you, just an interesting bit I thought I'd share.
