Hey...Just downloaded the Model, but for some reason I do not have the "Rig Main properties" for both Kong and the Axe. Cannot Access the hair or the Axe glow effect because of that. Would appreciate a reply. Awesome work man!

I think you mean IK. If you select one of the arm bones and go into the rig properties panel then you will find a slider to change between FK and IK. But for most situations, FK (what they are right now) is what you want for the arms. IK is mainly used when they have to remain fixed in one place. For example, if he's hanging from a building or walking on all fours.

@@AdrianParkinsonFilms I'm currently making a custom animation from video using rokoko. If I export your king kong model from mixamo and retarget it with rokoko blender plugin, no problem there BUT when I doing retarget with your default rig it failed. No suggestions??
i have exported this model to FBX Unreal engine 5. but it has no hair coz it only render hair in Blender. can you make Hair Material separate with it. Thanks

@@AdrianParkinsonFilms That means I tried to make it walk but unfortunately I could not. The leg did not rotate front or back. It just rotated from right to left
@@arunhegde3470 The legs are set to IK by default. You animate them by moving the foot bone. If you were trying to move the thigh bone that's shaped like an arrow, that's for adjusting the bend angle.

@@arunhegde3470 The one around the foot itself is what you use for animating the legs. Are you talking about how the fur looks in the viewport or when you render it? The axe glow is controlled in the axe rig properties as shown in the video.
@@flolfiest I see what you mean. It must be a bug in Blender. But they are introducing a new hair system in the next version, so I'll address it once that's out.

Ryzen 2700X RTX 2070 64GB of RAM. The GPU is the most important as that's what I do nearly all of my rendering on. I also used the experimental Cycles-X branch of Blender which is faster. at 512 samples I get a render time of around 1 minute per frame.
There's a download link, you can either append the whole collection of the blend file or just open the file itself assuming its a blend file, if its a .fbx just import it.
@@crouger1834 The way you should work is that you have hair dynamics turned off while you're animating and only enable it once all your animation is final. Then you bake it.
It will be laggy in rendered mode since it uses Cycles which isn't a real-time renderer. It's best to only use rendered mode for setting up your lighting, not previewing the animation.

@@aaryanrajgurung5038 You can try increasing the number of child particles or the scale of the strands. Both of these options are near the bottom of the particles tab.
Right now I have a personal project that's occupying all my spare time. Once that's done, it's back to doing Pacific Rim models. So I don't have any plans to do Mechagodzilla for the foreseeable future.

If you're using Blender 4.0 or newer, it might be broken. They changed the rig layer system and it's caused issues with older scripts.

They changed the menus a bit in Blender 4.1. You just need to go to Object -> Library Override -> Make.

I can't say, I've never used Rokoko. But normally when I retarget any mocap to any other rig I have to make some adjustments to get the motion to fit.

How in the world do i curve kongs fingers to hold the axe? there are no other finger bones than the one in there.
You scale them and the fingers will curl. If you need extra control, there is a fingers tweak layer.

You could change the material to a principled shader. It won't look as good, although there are EEVEE hair material setups that people have done.

It uses the Principled Hair shader which isn't supported in EEVEE.
