I had this preordered from day one. Cyberpunk 2077 is now a completely different game and absolutely love it. The DLC is fantastic. Credit to the developers for not giving up and putting in the work and time to not only fix the game but deliver a fantastic experience.
Stop normalising this behavior. The game should be good once it is released to the consumers who paid for it. This nonsense that gaming companies now do, where they release half finished games and slowly patch them up needs to stop.
@doseoflzr it’s almost like the game has had numerous updates to make it more enjoyable for other players and it’s not about being “cool” but providing the same enjoyable experience for all players and not the select few minority who didn’t experience bugs and performance issues.
That's not a good thing, fair enough it's good now but it should have never released is such a shitty state. You are part of the problem why games are awful on release
@@Denariusjay Felt the same way when I first started a week ago, but it's now as overwhelming as it seems. It's really really fun, especially once your start understanding more of the systems.
I’m 33 years old and have been gaming since 1997. First ever game I bought at launch was baldurs gate 3. And I don’t think I’ll buy a launch game again anytime soon.
@@BJJMadeEasy same here.. after 20+ year of gaming, I got only 2 games so far on launch.. TLOU 2, beat the game in 2 day LOL and NFS Unbound good game. but should have waited for discount... for Cyberpunk I knew game would not be good at launch.. but dam took them 3 years to get to "finished" state with update 2.1.. it still needs lots of polishing, but I can finally play it and am happy I waited
Yep. It also pays off to remember that disclaimers are not promises. When I see "this is a preview, amything you see is subject to change by release", I take that seriously. Because of that, I just sat back and laughed at all the idiots raging on the internet. If you buy a game on release, it's 100% on you if the game sucks. Never believe marketing, never believe the salesman. Easy
@@correctthatfilthygrammar Surely people are allowed to like different things 😅 Also, it's just the game I'm putting hours into at the moment, so everything is subject to change.
@@simoncharlton3426 It's not the best game he's ever played. Period. If he is a gamer, he must've played "Stalin vs. Martians" from 2009, developed by Black Wing Foundation at some point in his life and that game is the best game in the entire history of gaming.
I avoided this game for so long because of this. I recently just beat Cyberpunk and Phantom liberty, and i cannot recall a single bug i encountered. What a wild comeback.
I'm glad i waited until yesterday to play this game for the first time. Luckily i never paid attention to it and forgot about until it went on sale and i absolutely love it. 10/10
Same..still not played it..i wanted to wait till its at least 95% done 😂. Now im waiting for a good steam sale..no way in hell i spend 80 bucks for a game.
@@Sizzlik So why didn’t you buy it was it was really cheap and wait it out cause it was clear they wasn’t abandoning the game after the first couple updates now whenever you do get it you will be late to the party lol
Only played this last month. I can’t even imagine the work that it took to bring it from trainwreck to the current state. It is currenty one of my favorite games of all time, mostly for its world and story. I haven’t been this invested in an open world game in a long, long time. Whatever happened before its launch, i am grateful now for CDPR’s work in letting this game exist.
If you had a decent mid range pc it was never a train wreck, I played since release day and had basically no problems. And same goes for most anyone on pc that I’ve asked. It definitely was a train wreck on consoles though, especially last gen but I don’t know why anyone really thought it would be anything but a dumpster fire on a frickin ps4.
Same here. I know it was not perfect at launch, but at least on PC, it was fun, and I loved the story. Everything they have done has just made the game better. Although I don't agree with Gameranx's comment on Netrunning. Netrunners was the most busted build in the game. You can get near the busted-ness now, but nothing like like it was. Use too you could if lined up everything you could one shot elites, and 2 or 3 full combo a boss. I think saw actual one shot on bosses, but i'd have to do some digging. It was melee builds that were almost not viable.
never had the specs to play it during 2020 was brought in with the steam winter sale picked up the game and the dlc. Finished the entire game with all the side missions done in 65 hours. The game looks amazing with a 4090 on top of a storyline that tugs on your heart strings. Only sad part is that there wont be any more dlc and the next cyberpunk game is prob 3-5 years away. The game still has a couple of bugs and crashes but overall acceptable due to how big the world is.
@@Astelch you are right the game is ripe for another expansion. Might have to use a similar premise to get V into it, but that would mean you just have to write it even better, because this time they would be looking for deception, and for this to be "Too good to be true."
Experienced cyberpunk for the 1st time over the last week and it has gone down as my favorite game of all time. I sure enjoyed the base game story a lot more than phantom liberty. Absolutely beautiful game
Played the game last year. Apart from the amazing weapons and graphics the story was outstanding for me. Also there was good vertical details in the map where we can enter few buildings. Had a great time with it
@@Dr_Diaz I think it's very much improved. Can't say about the latest update as I played it last year where they fixed almost all bugs. Even if it's not there r many other reasons to enjoy it though.
@Dr_Diaz the water is not going to impress you but I've had numerous playthroughs and think I've been in water 3 times and two were by accident, for me the water might as well be little more than decoration don't let it put you off there are no missions on water and there aren't any boats
@stoneagepig3768 disgusting. I can't play a game with no water graphics. Red dead redemption 2 destroyed my taste..now I want upscale graphics like rdrd2
I got scared away from buying it at launch because of... well the launch. But recently picked up the Ultimate Edition and I honestly have never been this addicted to a game in years. It's truly a fantastic game.
What's crazy is how many people hated this game right off the bat JUST because it's an Nvidia sponsored. So I'm guessing those are toxic AMDumbs? Fanboys are the worst now days.
Same. I only got into the game a week ago and I'm glad I waited. The video said the game wasn't quite 'GTA but in the future' like some people want and I kind of disagree. It feels like GTA mixed with Deus Ex.
as someone who played this game when it first launched back in 2020, it's amazing to see this crazy comeback and refreshing to see devs actually care for their game and understand that they messed up and did everything in their power to fix and boost it into what it is now. personally, I never really experienced any issues with the game other than it randomly crashing on a constant basis but to see where it is now is mind-blowing, and as someone who does not like first-person games, Cyberpunk 2077 is easily one my favorite first-person games I've ever played. from the story to the characters to the world to the combat, just an amazing experience from start to finish. can honestly say I'm looking very forward to Cyberpunk 2, especially with the switch to UE5.
Let’s stop praising companies for launching a game that is broken and taking 3 years to fix it…it should’ve launched this way and it didn’t. Stop making this behavior normal. You people have Stockholm syndrome.
@@jaredchampagne2752 I think everyone realises this, no one wants games to be released like this. But that is the state of any company that produces games nowadays because of INVESTORS, and because they hold stake in the companies and the game they actually do have a say what happens to some extent, pressuring the release of the game. Games this large need money, and investors allow for things of this scale to be done, but at the cost of almost being their puppets. Im sure the developers themselves really did not want to release the game like they did, but they do not have a say. So we are still allowed to praise the DEVELOPERS, because no matter what not many companies could have done what they have done. The people behind all of these AAA games wether they are good or bad, call of duty to battlefield, whatever game. All the people behind these games are very very passionate at what they do, so it's unfair to paint them with the same brush. The real problem is publishers and investors in the gaming space
It's playable now, three years after launch. What an achievement! Praise the Lord! On a more serious note: They still sold a lie. The choices still don't matter, the gameplay still isn't outstanding, life paths are still irrelevant, they still cut a lot of things they teased/announced, the update isn't even playable on last gen. Let's not pretend the game now is the second coming of Christ. It's a good, solid first person shooter with an uninspired Cyberpunk-story, which was executed well, in a mid-open world.
This is my favorite game ever, no story ever captured my interest like this one and the gameplay is just as great and then, phantom liberty just makes it so much better, amazing narrative and great expansion, everything on the game, right now feels like a complete game
My experience with Cyberpunk at the initial launch was a lot different. Besides some AI bugs and getting soft locked one time that I eventually got through I thoroughly enjoyed the story and the world. Was the enemy AI pretty easy to beat, yes. There was also some great mods early on, that fixed some graphical issues and the terrible feel of driving the vehicles. My initial experience was a 7/10. And I enjoyed my time in the game. But overall I'm glad CD projekt Red stuck with it and fixed it.
CDPR definitely were not tight lipped. They were promising all sorts of things that were not in the game at launch. They were the ones driving the hype train. That's why our expectations were so high.
I think the main thing with being tight lipped in this scenario is how they didn't say anything to curb people's expectations. They added more fuel to the fire and didn't pour water on any of the spread at the edges until the whole building was ablaze. It's pretty much the same bad thing but just pointing out that being tight lipped is still a bad thing.
I absolutely LOVE this game now. I was one of the people who actually enjoyed it at launch but at the time it was just good for me. Coming back to it after the expansion released for a second playthrough made it go from a good game to one of my favorite games of all time. Especially the Phantom Liberty ending. There are very few games that can really make me feel emotional about an ending and this was one of them. This game has perhaps the best narrative of any piece of media I've ever experienced. Not even just games. God is this game so GOOD.
I cant even believe some ppl say this game was garbage on first launch. It was one of the best games of all times. Whiners whine about some little bugs here and there. It was, and stil is with expansion, one of the best games of all times.
I first played at 1.2 and on Xbox one no less, I stomached the bugs and had a grand time and honestly some bugs made for some great laughs. I'm very appreciative of what's been added don't get me wrong I'm not saying the game was done back then, but there was still plenty to enjoy @@farsiteguide2735
I played it soon after start. I didnt care for small errors with such masterpiece, and story was one of the best ever. Game is not repetitive more than usual games, in fact I completed every mission, jobs, crimes and all on map and it did not even take so much time.@@AndrewB23
@@AndrewB23 just curious, have you played the game recently to even see how the gameplay and story is? I don't necessarily see it as repetitive, as it has so many story options and endings and skill choices on how to fight your enemies. Way more varied than most games in this genre/market, and saying the story sucks is just opinion. I personally found it great for how detailed the characters are in personality and dialogue, but hey I guess it sucks because it just sucks in a lot of ppls eyes.
I only recently started playing on v2.02, it's honestly one of my favorite games of all time so far. What a blast. I'm glad I didn't start playing at launch.
I did play at launch, and I think what gets overlooked is that the game really wasn't dogshit when it came out. Yeah there was a lot of negative stuff and that blew up, and there's no denying that. But I was able to play (on my PC) the game and I enjoyed it. There were problems for sure but I could see there was real quality to the game... it just needed more work. And CDPR got it there. The game was released prematurely for sure, and the backlash was absolutely deserved. I don't know what I'm trying to say. I always loved Cyberpunk though. For me it was a good game that only got better. Starfield can go eat shit though.
As one of few people who loved CP2077 on launch, this comeback will go down as one of my all time favorite things to ever happen in the gaming industry.
Agreed. Cyberpunk has been good since day one, bugs and all. The story and characters are some of the best I've ever experienced. People finally got off the blind hate train and are willing to give the game a chance, and are seeing what they've been missing.
I'm with you, I had a few issues but not that many and enjoyed it at launch. When Phantom liberty came out, played through it again, and I love it. Can't wait for what is coming next with the franchine. I think their biggest mistake was releasing it on last-gen consoles, they don't even have SSDs, so they were never gonna perform well.
it wasnt blind hate and to minimize it because you liked it at launch is ridiculous. i bought it day one and the difference between now and then is huge. the game was just not ready and polished enough to be released and cd project red knew this hence why they worked so hard for a ccomeback.@@SteadyRiot
In a timeline and generation where keeping people's attention for longer than 30 seconds is objectively difficult, in a world where no matter what you discover there's something else as cool or cooler, in a realm (video games) where the markets are so over-saturated with content and clones and attempts at all genres... I'm really really happy you guys made a video about the comeback story of this game. This game ended up so much better than I could have ever imagined.
I still have mine and have yet to fully return to it yet. After the consistent positive reviews from gamers Ill definitely return to it for the holidays. It is what I had hoped to replace GTA when V was still somehow keeping folks entertained.
I only just bought Cyberpunk 2077 this year (2023) and it is one of my top 5 favourite games currently. Then with patch 2.1 and I recently upgraded to an RTX 4060 ti GPU, the graphics are WOW. But it's the story and characters that make it the experience that it is. Also, it gets top marks from me for having no happy endings, no matter what choices you make. One thing I don't get with people is the obession over character outfits. Really, the only time you can look at your character are in the wardrobe, in the mirror or when you are sitting on a motorcycle. So the outfits really aren't important, especially as the NPC's don't react to your outfit. It would be more interesting if you were dressed in a corpo outfit, walked into a Santo Domingo bar and someone tells you that you aren't welcome there. But still, one of my top 5 games!
I played Cyberpunk twice right after its release on PC. The excellent plot, beautiful world and amazing music drew me deeply into this world. There were mistakes when playing three years ago, but I don't even remember them anymore and they didn't stop me from having a great time. Now with the addition of Phantom Liberty, I played the game again from the very beginning and had even more fun. I love driving the Quadra Type-66 Javelin around a crowded city, it gives me more satisfaction than playing Forza Horizon. Good job CD Projekt and I'm waiting for your next games
i also played the original and liked it. maybe its because i didnt really have very high expectations. the game was a solid 6.5/10 back then it wasnt great or anything but i could still have fun in it
At it's core, Cyberpunk 2077 had a lot of great things going for it. The narrative was very strong and the combat was a lot of fun so there was always a good game there. If it didn't release on last gen consoles it probably wouldn't have received all the flak it got. This game really turned around when Edgerunners was released on Netflix and they implemented some much needed fixes and cool content from the tv series.
when no man sky was fixed, people often say "I wish more developer would be like this Instead of abandoning their broken game, they keep fixing it instead" after seeing cyberpunk and CDPR, yeah I can see why developers might not want to invest too much effort into fixing failed games. Lost cause, being the punching bag, laughing stock, etc. it's kinda hard to stay stubborn enough and keep fixing the game
I casually bought the game 1 week ago cause it was on sale and I am flabbergasted as to how good this game is. like really really fucking gooooooooooood
i like cyberpunk being in a good place now. i was a fan of the game from launch because of the amazing world they built and the gripping story they created. i know and dont deny the issues the game had at launch but i still thoroughly enjoyed it so seeing others see what i saw possible from the beginning is incredible.
would recommend giving cyberpunk red the ttrpg it comes from a chance if still into the setting. its a updated version of older cyberpunk 2020 ttrpg set in aftermath of the fall of the tower event just after Johnny and rest blew up arasaka tower.
Let’s stop praising companies for launching a game that is broken and taking 3 years to fix it…it should’ve launched this way and it didn’t. Stop making this behavior normal. You people have Stockholm syndrome.
I bought the game just before Phantom Liberty came out because it was on sale so I decided to give it a chance and my god this game is so good. I knew that on launch back in 2020 the game was in a nearly unplayable state, but I didn’t know so many of the features I'm seeing and experiencing in my playthrough were added after the fact. I can’t imagine how it is for people who played the game at release and then seeing it now, it must feel like a completely new and different game entirely. I never followed the hype for this game over the years leading up to it's release, I didn’t really know it existed until that E3 where Keanu Reeves did the "You're breathtaking" segment. I had no expectations for the game like so many others did, so when it came out and I saw how glitchy and poorly optimized it was I just had some laughs at its expense and moved on. It wasn’t until 3 years later that I decided to give it a chance after CDPR turned it around and I'm so glad I did. I just wish the game originally released like this so they didn't have to make a huge comeback in the first place.
I played it at launch, and honestly it doesn't feel that different. The major difference is throwing knives being good and police actually matter. Oh, Netrunning is different, for better or for worse.
Cyberpunk was the first game I ever preordered and was legitimately excited for. However when I got the game (on ps4) I was so disappointed that I never got around to finishing it. However I just started playing it again and it’s almost night and day with my experience! Now I don’t wanna put it down!
When I first played Cyberpunk, I played on a 2013 Xbox One, and I did not have a horrible experience... Yes there were bugs, glitches and some broken things but I still had a great experience overall. By the time Phantom Liberty came out, I got a Series X and decided to load up and replay the game, and WOW! I then fully understood what all the fuss was about around 60fps, it was like a whole new game! At the end of Phantom Liberty I had the same bitter-sweet feeling I get after watching a really good sci-fi action/drama, this was the second time Cyberpunk channeled the spirit of the original Blade Runner film for me.
I had it on series s and I never encountered or at least noticed any serious bugs or glitches. That was until a mission marker was placed under a building halfway through. Well I played it last year and it was great.
I platinumed this (and dlc) and loved every single minute of it. I wish I could remove these memories from my brain just so I could relive it all for the first time again
@@505Zombieman Yeah, I haven't deleted it yet, but I'm not touching it either. In the meantime I finished the Tomb Raider trilogy, the Mafia trilogy, Jedi Fallen Order, Dishonored and almost done with Horizon Zero Dawn. Even the terrible Mafia 3 that I deleted before finishing was more enjoyable to play than Cyberpunk.
"Did the Impossible" feels like a stretch. There's been a decent amount of games that have had terrible launches and overtime they've been patched to relative perfection. Cyberpunk, NMS, FFXIV, etc. So it's not impossible anymore, it's just rare to see a dev put in the time to fix it.
I got the game day 1 on PC as my first PC game ever and I loved the game. I had a few minor bugs but my favorite bug was being invincible. It allowed me to explore the whole map and go as high as I can get all over the map. But the story and visuals were great for me. The DLC was good too so this is one of my favorite games even before the fixes.
The Cyberpunk sequel is being created in Unreal Engine 5 and will look phenomenal. Full credit to the devs for not giving up on this project, and luckily some valuable lessons have been learned for the next project.
@@GabrielFerCav My response means, just play the game they way it was originally developed, cheats, mods, hacks etc are for snowflakes. I understand there are talented modders in gaming community but I think they'd be better off working for the developers directly.
@@Genesis-007 if you prefer playing without mods because you want the experience that the devs intended you can totally say that without bashing people for using mods. Cyberpunks modding community was basically adding dlcs worth of context hotfixes to bugs (from launch and even bugs post 2.0) and adding insane amounts of quality of life changes cosmetics character customization options and immersion mod additions that breathe Additional life into the game and honestly you can have mods while still not “cheating” or detracting from the vanilla game experience in anyway gameplay wise. They had a radioport and a metro LONG before it was added into cyberpunk officially and the only reason which cdpr said themselves it was added is because of the immense amount of feedback from the modding community. You are completely entitled to want to play the game the way you see fit but the modding community has helped this game in every way shape and form and that community (who has been coding for red engine which you said yourself is much more difficult that per se unreal engine) deserves respect for the passion and time they also gave to making this game look and feel as best as it can.
I didn’t get cyberpunk until 2022 and shortly after my first play through phantom liberty came out and I’ve now played and completed the game and DLC 4 times. I have an immense amount of love for this game and world, was just a shame for the people who experienced the release issues. But if you still haven’t played it because of the release problems, please re think, it’s genuinely one of the greatest games ever and is so worth your time now. 🙏
@TheGOAT-hj6slI don’t see any of us forgetting or excusing the state it was in at launch. The company had to pay a massive settlement on top of refunding everyone who asked. Nothing is normalized, they quite literally paid their dues and know better than to repeat their mistakes in the future. As such, there’s absolutely nothing wrong with acknowledging that the game in its current state is fantastic.
11:14 - One small clarification- the transmog system came back in Patch 1.5 or 1.6, well before Update 2.0. Therefore the mix and match clown clothing was gone well before patch 2.0.
Im 47, been a gamer since I can remember, since pong I Guess, but latest years I havent played that much due to work, etc. And I was starting to think my gamer life was dying...because I didnt enjoy games the way I did with the Witcher 3, resident evil, assasins creed, etc. But then I got Cyberpunk 2077 and I am back...Im over 60 HRS into the game and I cant get enough..I feel like a child again...the landscape...the open world...soooo many quests I feel I have attention disorder lol . Thanks Cyberpunk 2077 for saving my gamer life...thanks CD project red for creating and fixing this game. I cant wait to get a ps5 to play the DLC. You did It again CD project red. You witchered Cyberpunk.🔥🔥🔥🔥🎮 Btw I play on ps4....no bugs or issues yet. I already watched the series and loved it.
I purchased the game six months after initial release and played maybe three hours than decided to "wait until things were improved". Well years later the day has finally come!
I'm one of those people who loved the game from the start (on a decently-specced PC), maybe I got lucky but I did not have any kind of game-breaking bugs, more like some annoyances. So I'm really happy to see how far it's come, and still play regularly :)
Yeah everyone keeps saying it was a dumpster fire on release but I had like no problems on pc. People that really thought this game would run on last gen hardware were just ignorant. I knew as soon as they announced it was also coming to last gen that it would perform like crap if at all on that hardware.
It was because the game had no failsafes, because it was only tested in decently-specced PCs. Any calculation errors could be bruteforced with enough processing power. You can see that most bugs and calculations are due to physics miscalculation errors. If the game had more time for quality assurance, they would've had toned down the physics calculation a little (why they toned down the NPCs in older consoles).
They did really turn it in too one of the best games of all time, but still hard to forgive them for setting the bar so low. The amount of unfinished releases skyrocketed as soon as studios realized they could still sell 1M+ copies if they market well
Remember playing it first day, hated it cuz I was waiting for it for years and at the end got a game that didn't even work, just yesterday started playing it again, got the ultimate edition, and man how they improved it, feels like a different game in a great way and I'm really enjoying it so far, really glad they didn't give up and decided to fix it and make it better, now I can say it was worth the wait 👏
Same, I preloaded the game on day 1, and as far as I know I didn't even completed Konpeki Plaza mission. After the DLC and 2.1 I'm planning to play it 3rd time now! That's how great of a game this is! And the DLC, mann just ❤❤
Honestly, I enjoyed the game at launch with very few DISASTEROUS bugs which people flip out over. I bought a PS5 just weeks before and it ran completely fine for around 5 hours then crashed, obviously a memory issue which was fixed within the first month. I completed all 5 endings of the game by end of January '21 putting nearly 300 hours into an "unplayable" game, which to this day is my favorite game I've played. I install it on my 'old PS4' after reading so much trash talk about the game and understood it was much more buggy on limited hardware, the same can be said for PC's older than 2020, the game has been and still is VERY demanding with industry defining graphics progress. Thank God they're abandoning REDengine for UE5 for their new games. I'm not defending the launch state on last gen hardware, but the game STORY overall was very good and giving my experience. I was entitled to a refund for my purchase but chose not to because I liked the game and wanted to support them. I bought an additional copy when people were hating on it getting the PC collector's edition at half price . My laptop CANNOT play the game well at all as it's below even the original launch minimum specs, but I still do run the game often for mods and photo mode. One final note, the only thing despicable was the 9 month crunch time the devs were put under to push the game to launch obviously 3 years early. @@istealpopularnamesforlikes3340
It IS a completely different game now. They changed how EVERYTHING works. If you had a pre 2.0 save and actually knew how to build V one of the many correct ways, well, your game is completely broken, your V, unusable. You have no choice but to restart the game. Oh you have a couple hundred hours invested, too bad, everything you did isn't possible anymore. Your character, isn't possible anymore.
I’m excited to play this now. I just got the Ultimate Edition yesterday for $60 at GameStop. Comes with the game and the Phantom Liberty expansion. Going to start playing today.
I'll hand it to Cyberpunk 2077, it was one hell of a turn around, and kudos to CD Projeckt Red for that BUT that doesn't mean that games should be released in an unfinished state when higher ups know a game isn't ready to launch
I always comment on IGNs page how Gameranx has better rankings, Falcon, Jake and the team there really are a bright spot in media that's so extremely rare these days. Thank you for all you do, you're truly one of the few things I look forward to
Agreed. It's so relaxing and chill to watch a ranking from them. You even manage to learn a thing or two in the process which is always a bonus. Besides the rankings, this is by far my number one place to get gaming news and first impressions on a newly released game. No one else has better coverage than Gameranx.
I'm on my second playthrough and am actively ignoring tons of games i can play with my PlayStation subscription. This game might not have started that way, but now i feel it is just something special.
It was amazing to see the game get an award at TGA it deserved it cyberpunk did what almost no game nowadays has done fully came back from the dead and delivered everything that was promised i will always love talking about this game even in 10 years from now
I'm not saying they did not do a good job, yet how is this an ongoing game? They fixed the problem they made. Assassin's Creed Valhalla has more DLC, and more seasonal stuff than Cyberpunk if you want to give it to a single player game.
Aye man. They did great job turning this around. But they definitely did not give us everything they promised and that is 100% a result of releasing an unpolished game upfront. I love this game just like you but we ain’t gotta lie to gas it up
I've been playing this game since launch and i won't deny it had it's flaws but imo i kinda enjoyed it there was something so funny about having sum random npc bug the f*ck out then watch sum random stuff happen it was entertaining in it's own way and i love the game regardless bug free or not so yes it has it's flaws nothing is perfect no they might not have gotten EVERYTHING but i have to put the blame on sum of the fans on overhyping the game and saying features were gonna come out when the dev team said themselves that those rumors were not true
As a guy who has 715hrs in cyberpunk and is still gonna play more I was very lucky as I have never got any of the major bugs and glitches people complain about and also 1 of my friends had the same time with it. It was my first single player game ever as I got the pc just a year before this game came out and it was the 2nd game I ever played on it. I freaking love this game.
I had very little bugs on PC on launch only got launched once or twice climbing fences and stuff so i was sad seeing everyone having bugs galore :( So glad CP is slayyying rn and hope the sequel more than makes up for any past wrongs 😼
I wish people also had the experience some of us had because, watching this game get the negative attention kinda felt weird since few of us never experienced any of it ourselves
sorry boys, day 1 preorder and day 1 ps4 download - game was completely unplayable and after TW3 was my fave of all time this became the biggest video game letdown of my life. my hype was too high of course but this game crushed me and I haven't enjoyed any new game since - just dicking around with minecraft, fortnite and fifa. One day I'll jump back in and hopefully I'll enjoy it.
Started watching the show a few days ago. Decided to look into cyberpunk 2077 more because I’ve heard it’s better than before but still was on the fence of jumping in. After this video as well as the show detailing how interesting the setting is , glad to see cyberpunk downloading
I’ve always been skeptical since the way the launch was. I still haven’t bought it out of principle, like I shouldn’t reward them for pushing a half-assed game, no matter how good it became. But now I’m thinking I may just grab it.
A fair reasonable take not full of hatred out of spite nor out of delusional appreciation. Rare, rare indeed. The people who act like this game had 0 problems ever are some of the most annoying pricks, but the people who hate this game still and pretend like it never improved and never will are bottom of the barrel so I'm glad people like you can get around to appreciating the game, while still realizing CDPR did not hit a homerun like they claimed they did, but willing to at least give it a chance.@@brandonlm0125
I wouldn’t say that. A lot of this review was acting like those things are fixed but they’re far from it. Yes it isn’t as bad as it was but you can’t say the ai isn’t lifeless and robotic. I still would recommend staying away from this game.
I loved this game at launch (granted I had a PC, so I really didn't run into problems the way console owners did), and it's only gotten better with age and love. Haven't played it since Phantom Liberty came out, and just opened it back up last night - loving the changes, and can't wait to get back to it.
I was one of the few who actually enjoyed the game since day one on PC. I knew there was a good game beneath all the bugs and glitches. I'm happy that I was patient enough to discover all the wonderful moments and beautiful cutscenes the game, instead of dismissing it immediately and abandoning like most players.
Played close to the beginning but didn't get far, with all the content and updates, I'm happy I came back. One of the best games and stories I've ever played. Loving everything in the world so far. And Panam ❤️ 🥵
Wish you mentioned how much of a powerhouse this game is as well, a graphical showcase that will push your hardware to the limit, including the latest 4090! Ray traced EVERYTHING and path tracing and DLSS and all the rest of the bells and whistles. 2020’s “but can it run crysis?”
@@ArashiKageTaro Not mad, just unimpressed. No regrets on not spending a fortune to see water reflections and pretend cyberfunk is good. It comes nowhere near other open world games in terms of gameplay, content and details.
One commendable thing is obviously to put the fantastic game from the beginning, but I think equally commendable thing is to take the criticism and really pull of such an amazing comeback. Not everybody can do that under such pressure. I love this game and I cannot stress how amazing it is now. Huge huge props to the studio which managed to take it seriously, put some serious work into improving the workflow and deliver such an amazing game.
On my experience, patch 2.0 was as buggy as launch version (playing on PC). In fact, I noticed more bugs now than then. The most common bug is NPC glitching. I also saw the same bug on both: at main story, first time we see a cyberpsycho crime scene near the ripperdoc, cops get supper aggressive even if you are just looking from afar.
@@UlissesSampaio To me although they did made improvements and fixed things and enhanced it, it is still nothing compared to what we expected by looking at their demo's and descriptions and trailers. The only reason people are now more positive is because after becoming a pariah the expectations went to the bottom so now after fixing the most outrageous bugs and forgetting the previous gen consoles that never played well on them, it seems kind of decent. So what changed most was expectations. People expected a masterpiece but got a kind of decent game that went to half-bad due to bugs while now they expect nothing so they are happy with a not horrible game.
@@SIPEROTH can you give any example what they lied about in their descriptions or demos? or are you just going by your own built up hype and imaginary things? :D
@SIPEROTH I agree. I think the game was always very good on PC. Just expectations that were impossible to match. I never saw too many bugs back then. Last playthrough on 2.0, I still saw lots of crazy bugs.
@@ZoeyZoco Yes lol. Id say "well its my 2nd play through" but thats still like 175 hours playthought (im up to 350 now lol). I am a total completionist.
I remember completing my first playthrough thinking “finally finished” when I absolutely rushed through. Second playthrough I savored every side quest, finished with the Aldecaldos, and I remember sitting there in awe because it’s when I REALLY fell in love with the game. Now even besides the DLC, my third time fully playing it I’m STILL finding new thing to love. I know once I finish Phantom Liberty I’m gonna break knowing it will be a while until the second Cyberpunk game. I’m not rushing it at all, just really looking forward to it.
If you have a PC with a high end GPU, try CP2077 in VR (Luke Ross mod - 6 degrees of freedom). Night City feels like it was always meant to be walked around in VR. On a 4090 and Quest 2, it is probably the most atmospheric thing I've ever experienced in a computer game.
I wish I was not a cheap ass or I would try that as it sounds amazing! But I can not justify buying a VR headset for one game even a game I have put 370 hours into and have not uninstalled off my CPU for more than three months since launch.
I always stood by the game for its phenomenal storytelling alone. Even during the beginning, when it was bugged to hell and back, I always said that beneath the glaring flaws are beautifully written characters and amazing potential. I’m so proud of them, and I’m glad I stuck around to see it get this far.

What concerns me about this, is that the other terrible AAA publishers saw this and got confidence that they could release an unfinished game because people know about Cyberpunk and No Man's Sky. The publishers would expect gamers to see their unfinished game will someday be finished.
Got this game day 1, played it for maybe 20 minutes and couldn't get into it. One day I randomly bought Phantom Liberty and came back to it about 2 months ago, and I must say, it has been one of the most memorable and beautiful gaming experiences I have ever had. Me too. We're u on nex gen? Honestly I've played the game for few weeks after the initial launch and never experienced those bugs mentioned here... Everything was nice :) Didn't played Phantom Liberty yet, but planning to do it soon...
I finished the Phantom Liberty DLC a few weeks ago and it was unbelievably good. I regret judging it based on the first few hours, because that is quite a long DLC and it just goes up and up and up, and then completely fucking smashes it with the ending. I don't remember the last time the ending of a game fucking smashed it as hard as that DLC. I truly cannot remember the last time I sat and watched the entire fucking end credit scene; I think that DLC will stick with me for a very long time. And the best part is I really really needed that Phantom Liberty home run to get me like on side for cyberpunk, because I was one of the people that got fucked over at launch by the amount of bugs, and just going through and being like "Okay, I've played CP already, I know most of this shit, I'm experiencing probably about 50% of the new content that I didn't get to do, and then doing the DLC I was like this is like my first time playing CP again and when I got to the ending I was like yeah that's good, that's what I needed.
This is one of the best games I’ve ever played. I’ve never experienced another game like this. I did almost all the missions and I only seen like 4 bugs when it didn’t even matter.

One thing I don't get with people is the obession over character outfits. Really, the only time you can look at your character are in the wardrobe, in the mirror or when you are sitting on a motorcycle. So the outfits really aren't important, especially as the NPC's don't react to your outfit. Good job CD Projekt and I'm waiting for your next games
i also played the original and liked it. maybe its because i didnt really have very high expectations. the game was a solid 6.5/10 back then it wasnt great or anything but i could still have fun in it
1:20 actually they are the ones who set expectations too high almost every feature they said would be in the game, weren’t even in the game
The narrative is awful

I've been waiting for someone to document the development of this game from where it was and where it is now. Great video
when no man sky was fixed, people often say "I wish more developer would be like this Instead of abandoning their broken game, they keep fixing it instead"
after seeing cyberpunk and CDPR, yeah I can see why developers might not want to invest too much effort into fixing failed games. Lost cause, being the punching bag, laughing stock, etc. it's kinda hard to stay stubborn enough and keep fixing the game
I casually bought the game 1 week ago cause it was on sale and I am flabbergasted as to how good this game is. like really really fucking gooooooooooood
Mine just finished downloading 🥰
i like cyberpunk being in a good place now. i was a fan of the game from launch because of the amazing world they built and the gripping story they created. i know and dont deny the issues the game had at launch but i still thoroughly enjoyed it so seeing others see what i saw possible from the beginning is incredible.
would recommend giving cyberpunk red the ttrpg it comes from a chance if still into the setting. its a updated version of older cyberpunk 2020 ttrpg set in aftermath of the fall of the tower event just after Johnny and rest blew up arasaka tower.

Speaking of, I bought it on Steam like two months before PL's release. I never paid for PL but it's in my Steam library.
Same thing here man I bought after watching edgerrunners and it’s always kinda been great to me but I’m so glad it got even better
I bought it when everyone didn't want it for 15 quid and then waited until October, so worth it , 200 hours in second play through.
Very good
I played it when it was first released and some of the bugs were really bad, but I wouldn’t call it unplayable.
I played it at launch, and honestly it doesn't feel that different. The major difference is throwing knives being good and police actually matter. Oh, Netrunning is different, for better or for worse.
Great video. Just started the game for the first time and I'm loving it. Edgerunners 100% is what turned my opinion around on the whole thing.
Only 11 hours in. Love it! Quite fascinating to hear of its issues but most importantly they kept at it
Cyberpunk was the first game I ever preordered and was legitimately excited for. However when I got the game (on ps4) I was so disappointed that I never got around to finishing it.
My homie constantly tells me that cyberpunk reminds him of the original blade runner and after playing it myself I can see why

I was thinking the same lol.
Started playing the game about a week ago, it is one of the greatest games I have ever played. They did an amazing job fixing it and building upon it.
See that’s literally what I said, the PC release was fine. The game actually wasn’t bad.
Same here. I went in blind and had a blast. (Not my first PC game tho)
Same for me as well!

The Cyberpunk sequel is being created in Unreal Engine 5 and will look phenomenal. Full credit to the devs for not giving up on this project, and luckily some valuable lessons have been learned for the next project.

@@Genesis-007 ???? This response made no sense
Im glad people are spreading awareness when the game is at worst and when it gets better ❤
Very informative and to the point, Falcon. Redownloaded after this video. Gonna try it again after much disappointment last time.
11:14 - One small clarification- the transmog system came back in Patch 1.5 or 1.6, well before Update 2.0. Therefore the mix and match clown clothing was gone well before patch 2.0.

@@Mrchair905 so its tgat Crysis and Windows Vista All over again?
It was because the game had no failsafes, because it was only tested in decently-specced PCs. Any calculation errors could be bruteforced with enough processing power. You can see that most bugs and calculations are due to physics miscalculation errors.
If the game had more time for quality assurance, they would've had toned down the physics calculation a little (why they toned down the NPCs in older consoles).
I think mine had a game crash maybe 3 times in the first few weeks and that was the end of my issues
I loved it cause of the hilarious bugs and glitches that defined the game gave it more characteristics😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
They did really turn it in too one of the best games of all time, but still hard to forgive them for setting the bar so low. The amount of unfinished releases skyrocketed as soon as studios realized they could still sell 1M+ copies if they market well
Also credit to the anime for saving cyberpunk. Also congrats cdpr for winning best ongoing game award
And the DLC, mann just ❤❤
its the same game, lol :D it was this good right from the start (on PC haha :))

I had CP shortly after launch for PC, even with its flaws, CP was/is still one of my most favourite games of all time, only a couple come to mind I find were Mass Effect and GTA4/5. Can’t wait to be able to get Phantom Liberty and play CP all over again!
Mass effect got special place in everyone’s heart 😂💯
i didnt played cyberpunk liberty city, ill download a pirate copy later
@@arsizhifenerprozhod let me know what you think of PL!
@@arsizhifenerprozhod I'm tempted to report you to the police, but I know they won't do anything anyway. For all I care, you can pirate bad games from shady publishers, but not good games.
@@arsizhifenerprozhoddude its phantom liberty, liberty city is in GTA.
Cyberpunk 2077 and No Mans Sky are the 2 main games I play on PS5. I got them both as soon as you could get them, and I played them for about 50 hours each at those times. I’ve dabbled in them both here and there throughout the updates. I recently started brand new play through in both of them. I’m at 126 hours in No Mans Sky and 29 hours in my new Cyberpunk 2077 play through. I didn’t hate them before, I was OK with it not gunna lie the ideas of the worlds I was playing in was more captivating than everything working perfectly. but I’m so happy everyone else did hate them because they are so much better now. Really amazing games and everyone should play them both. I was happy and now I will tell anyone, your game library is not complete without either of these games. Have to have them 100%
The word you're after is adaptations. Not adaption. Adaption is a biological change.
it has become one of the greatest cinematic games I have ever played.
make your own legend choom. never be a cog. never fade away.
Honestly I've played the game for few weeks after the initial launch and never experienced those bugs mentioned here... Everything was nice :) Didn't played Phantom Liberty yet, but planning to do it soon...
I love this game, there's so much content in it, I can't even progress fast enough because I'm so lost in the world of night city
Not even on GTA level.
@@bdleo300it’s better than gta.
lol ive played gta 5 story atleast 5 times... cyberpunk i stopped playing after 2 hours. youre crazy@@catsnwhales
@@Pediaification in my opinion, I think cyberpunk is better.
@@catsnwhales I might try it again sometime
I bought it last week half off, and I’m absolutely in love with the game
As an amaeture game developer yes... it's impossible. What they did is like building a house on bad foundations then replacing the foundations and keeping the house intact. From both a programming and marketing perspective.
