- 50 Minute Session with Tangerine Dream.
Recorded during pandemic in July 2020 at Club Lido in Berlin, Germany
Without Audience - Behind Closed Doors
Together with Kraftwerk TANGERINE DREAM are the German Synthesizer Pioneers.
Their name comes along with their revolution of elektronic music in the early 70s and several US blockbuster movie soundtracks like, „Thief“ with James Caan, „The Sorcerer“ with Roy Scheider and many more. 7 Grammy nominations, several awards and over 70 million sold records made Tangerine Dream to a trademark of elektronic music!
After 50 successful years Tangerine Dream seamed to come to an end, when founder and mastermind EDGAR FROESE passed away in early 2015. But even before his death he already had the vision to open a new chapter for the band and he began to work on a new album with a younger line up.
THORSTEN QUESCHNING, longterm member of TD is now bandleader and has with PAUL FRICK a well reputated artist next to him.
Violinist HOSHIKO YAMANE is completing the line up

This lineup of TD is as strong as this band's ever been. Saw them twice last fall when they toured the US. Still my favorite electronic band ever.
100%
This performance may have been performed in an empty club but it is now preserved for all humanity to enjoy and wonder at.....thank you!
I just rediscovered one my favorite bands from the past. I am so happy.
❤❤❤Huuuge TD fan for more than 45 years now. RIP Edgar. I saw TD last sunday in Leuven. It was awesome. Greetings Dirk Belgium.
I love what TD are doing at the moment.
I particularly love the sessions that they are doing.
I Have been a fan since I first heard _Phaedra_ in May 1987.
Unbelievable that this session is already 4 years in the past. It was that dark times imprisoned at home and this music rescued me - so many many thanks and love for having done this!
LOL staying at home is not being imprisoned
I was first introduced to this group by John (The Music God) Peel as a kid. John Peel was such a massive influence on my musical tastes being broadened, I miss him and his show so much.
Me too. But what we heard set us up for a lifetime.
Absolutely fantastic, wonderful, spiritual session! Thank You Tangerine Dream, I love TD since 1979 ❤
Out of curiosity I searched for Tangerine Dream and I kinda figured that it would be all new band members and this new version still sounds good. My introduction to TD was back in ‘79 when I was in the Navy and we were out at sea, we would have movie night once a week and it just so happened that the movie for that night was William Fredkins version of Sorcerer, if you haven’t seen this movie it’s free on RUclips movies and the music played during this movie will blow you away. After that while I was stationed at Pearl I went to see Risky Business and the music for that movie is awesome… These guys are killing it 👍👍
And this is a genuine Dream!
This is the concert I attended - at the Victoria Palace Theatre in London on June 16, 1974. This concert was part of their early UK performances, where they showcased their pioneering electronic music, which was still relatively novel to audiences at the time. The show was part of their "Phaedra" tour, named after their album that had been released earlier that year. Good to listen to their music again, still the best .......
This is actually very good worthy of Ricochet, Phaedra etc.. Edgar left us in good hands👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
It's fantastic & unbelievable!!! TD forever!
Merci....
Et merci pour ce beau partage...
Been a fan since the mid 70s, only seen the band live once, in 1981 (Edgar Froese, Chris Franke, Johannes Schmoelling if memory serves). , great gig-still have the programme somewhere! It was my very first gig, and the ticket price was £4.50 ! (UK) . Sadly missed Kraftwerk every time they visited my city. Liking this line up, first time seeing them.
Wonderful! Oh, and, their name brings back a flood of old memories. 🌸
Really nice set up and sound scaping. TD forever.
I love ❤❤❤ Tangerine Dream. Super music.
Masterpiece!
Clearly brilliant.
Hoshiko ❤
Masters!!!
🖖🙏👏👏👏💥
Nice
I like the white microwave ovens !
Monitor (Studio loudspeakers) actually.

Hi guys, I have been a fan since 1975, and still am, Im a photographer and when I get the chance will journey to London with my camera. Now sometimes I cant find the subjects and have a mental block 😂 , but headphones and some TD, and im back on track, just a thought guys.
Stil they are
This sessions reminds me of the earlier days of TD, that time with the original founders, Edgar Froese, Chris Franke and Peter Baumann. With this sound they go back to their roots
I gave up on TD when they got a pretend drummer. This is much more interesting though. I wish the girl on the violin did a bit more melody to fill the sound up ? Would love to see Chris franke sat in the middle with his beautiful musical magic ? ❤

Una volta i tangerine dream erano fantastici,
Ora come fanno a fare brani così orrendi
There is a digital glitch at 17:31 and a 2s dropout in sound. Can you please fix it and reupload?
When the violin is discernable, it's nice. Other than that, I'm unclear about her overall contribution.
Anyone kind enough to share the Tracklisting and timestamps?
It's a 'session' so this means this is actually a more or less fully improvised piece of music. So could call this track simply 'The MFP Session' ;)

A Tangerine has a dream
Thanks , is there any recognisable TD tracks though within this session like in the past?@@a.vandergaag5517

Great piece, beautifully performed, but I have to say that for me it doesn't really sound like Tangerine Dream. Hearing it for the first time, not knowing who it is, I would have probably said Klaus Schulze...
They look young for a band that started in 1967😂
@@felipefuccio1406 bar Edgar ALL of the founding members left at the end of 1968
This is not Tangerine Dream. Tangerine Dream died when Edgar passed away.
Edgar left us. But not his heritage.
