I almost fell into complacency after a couple of job offers, but I miraculously fell on the 3×3×3 strategy .... I am yet to recover from the results. Also your personal story keeps motivating me. My next suggestion would be to make a video for beginners because the beginner part is the hardest and if someone can guide a person at that stage the rest of journey becomes easy. So yeah my recommendation would be a video for complete beginners. Lots of love and best wishes.
Forget everything this man is saying. Never make the cover letter about you, make it about the client and their needs. Forget saying I did this, and I got another client over 200K views, and a million subs, and I did that yaddaa yaaadaa yaada. Everyone is doing that and it doesn't make you stand out! Stop with the bragging and self-promotion, you're not a salesman. Address their goals and needs, send them a link to your portfolio, and thank them for their time, and that you hope to hear from them soon if they think you're the right fit. Simple.

If you don't have prior WORK examples, then you might consider substituting in the "results examples" for testimonial examples, i.e. people that you've done work for prior to your work on Upwork, that have said good things about the work you do - is that helpful @The Current Affairs?

My profile is 90% completed. I sent 15 proposals on which client visited less than hour ago. I have Masters degree in Economics. Qualified in State and National level competitive exams. Showcased my excel, content writing and research paper writing skills. Still Zero response. Wasted more than 60 connects. Forget getting an offer, nobody even declined even one proposal.. Bear in mind that there is one "not-so-obvious" thing on Upwork about applying to jobs... if you are consistently applying, then I've noticed that Upwork "upgrades" you in the search results and you'll end up with more clients eventually. Yes, it’s a common thing to happen, where when you win a couple of projects, you go off running to get them done and forget about looking for more work - then that hurts you because it signals to Upwork that you’re not actively looking for work, and so you end up getting “downgraded” in the search results. But there are solutions! The main one is consistency in keeping applying for jobs on Upwork - that part is really key !
Question - Does it make sense to send proposals for jobs where you don't meet all the client's criteria? Or do those proposals get automatically archived? I have 10 years of professional experience and a solid portfolio/work samples but only recently started freelancing so sometimes I come across jobs where I don't meet the criteria because the client wants a freelancer with X amount of upward earnings or someone from EST timezone when I'm PST myself. Appreciate all these videos and insight, they've been super helpful.
what happens if you do not have any past work experience? How can you possibly write a proposal that will attract potential clients with no preview work you've done in the past.

I have the skills to edit really complicated videos and pretty much all the videos that a client on Upwork would need; the biggest problem that i have it's that i don't have any pass work to show, that's getting me in a loop where i could edit for everyone but no one will hire me. NICHE DOWN! Get more specialized, and figure out what kind of content actually interests you, and start editing that! You could do a re-cut of someone else's footage just as an example. Make a passion project out of it!

If you don't have prior WORK examples, then you might consider substituting in the "results examples" for testimonial examples, i.e. people that you've done work for prior to your work on Upwork, that have said good things about the work you do - is that helpful @The Current Affairs?

My profile is 90% completed. I sent 15 proposals on which client visited less than hour ago. I have Masters degree in Economics. Qualified in State and National level competitive exams. Showcased my excel, content writing and research paper writing skills.
Still Zero response.
Wasted more than 60 connects. Forget getting an offer, nobody even declined even one proposal..
Am I wrong in somewhere?? It looks all fraud to me. UpWork just wants us to buy connects. Nothing else.

@Usama you're a REAL ONE - I appreciate your support, and am SO GLAD that you're crushing it getting to $1k / month. Just know that IT ACCELERATES from there! The first $1k month is the hardest - then you'll find yourself scaling up fast to $1k / week... then soon enough, $1k / DAY 😻 if that's your path, you can get there!

Bear in mind that there is one "not-so-obvious" thing on Upwork about applying to jobs... if you are consistently applying, then I've noticed that Upwork "upgrades" you in the search results and you'll end up with more clients eventually. Are you seeing that?
@@FreelanceMVP yup, I am applying to the jobs, but there are some times when i see a lot of jobs of my interests and skills and sometimes i don't see a single one and nowadays i don't see a one of my interests or skills, So, a little slow nowadays but yup applying for the ones i found.

Yes, it’s a common thing to happen, where when you win a couple of projects, you go off running to get them done and forget about looking for more work - then that hurts you because it signals to Upwork that you’re not actively looking for work, and so you end up getting “downgraded” in the search results. But there are solutions! The main one is consistency in keeping applying for jobs on Upwork - that part is really key !

What we should write in cover letter of a content writer?
Question - Does it make sense to send proposals for jobs where you don't meet all the client's criteria? Or do those proposals get automatically archived? I have 10 years of professional experience and a solid portfolio/work samples but only recently started freelancing so sometimes I come across jobs where I don't meet the criteria because the client wants a freelancer with X amount of upward earnings or someone from EST timezone when I'm PST myself.

NICHE DOWN! Get more specialized, and figure out what kind of content actually interests you, and start editing that! You could do a re-cut of someone else's footage just as an example. Make a passion project out of it!
