Lol. It was for sure. This place is a very special spot. People come from all over for the muskie fishing. Plenty of pike, alligator gar pike, bass, walleye, etc. There are enormous muskie, gar and pike. Always am adventure but nothing has ever pulled me through the water like that till this day. This was just after healing from back surgery which explains the outriggers. I was standing to paddle to relieve strain on my healing back. Lol
This was an alligator gar pike. At the time I had no idea they could look so vibrant or get so huge. It looked like a snake had swallowed something large . I couldn't see its face as pulling it through the weeds, it picked up a good amount of them in its mouth. All I saw was the giant side and vibrant skin, it spit put my lure just as I released the bail of my reel in the video. When I got home I googled alligator gar pike to see if it could have been one. Turns out the pattern on it was a dead giveaway. I left the video pretty raw as it just didn't feel right to edit out the cursing and panic. Lol. It happens. If you think that's scary, wait until you see the bee rescue videos I have yet to edit;)
