U wouldn't expect this to work but he's had a ton of success with it against some of the best guys in the world and because of his style it also makes him the most entertaining guy to watch

Very risky, but works when executed perfectly.
This might be a great offensive counter to when the opponent grabs your foot for a toe hold and you walk out of it. Happens all t(e time. Brilliant move. Jeff is definitely an innovator.
You guys should film yourselves doing a Donkey Guard drill where one guy gets the Donkey Guard, tucks under the other guy's legs and then climbs up and takes the other guy's back. Then have the other guy drop down to get the Donkey Guard, tuck down under the legs, climb up and take the back. Rinse and repeat. If done right and fast enough, it would look like a Yin and Yang symbol in motion. OSS!!!!!

Bunch of old messages in this. I’m here because this has made its way to Dallas and is now being used OFTEN. There aren’t any videos showing an escape to this shit and it’s a pain in the ass to deal with. Lol.
This actually works, but the problem is allot of people know about it now. And if you pull it of once, you probably won't be able to repeat it since it's so unique that you'd have to be an idiot not to see it coming. The tricky part for me is grabbing the back fast enough. But it's fun as hell. :)

I've used it rolling from seated and often end in a reverse position mount, set up for knee bar. For all the critics, keep in mind that Jeff is a master of traditional BJJ moves as well, and has tapped many very talented competitors in open weight classes that have had a lot of weight on him. So he's not doing this because it doesn't work. And if you want to talk about street value, then a whole lot of jits comes under attack, all of it if you're considering multiple attackers scenarios.
You counter someone coming at you butt first "donkey guard style" with something I have developed called the "Mr hands" penetration thrust. (I didn't name it but I the names cool) its frigging lethal against the rear attack.

The donkey guard will get you disqualified in modern BJJ competition. I think the Gracie family would approve though. Those guys are hard core.

Yea its ok . Risky as , wouldn't work for too many people though , lighter guys maybe , you'd have to be fast . Creative dude , I suppose when it work it would work well but yea not too many would pull it off...
+Alan Boase you're better off watching videos of Glover doing this in competition to get a better idea of it. granted, most of the ones i've seen he didn't jump up into the actual guard position, but rather approached his opponent backwards(even completely bent over looking between his legs) and rolled through for a leg lock, but, same general idea none the less.
