Hey there Nico!! I've been sucked down the rabbit hole as they say as I started watching your Krautrock A-Z videos. I find your knowledge and insight incredible. I've never seen any of your videos until just today and stayed up all night getting an education so to speak. I do own some of what you do and am taking your word for a lot of the stuff I have not heard before. I own very little vinyl but have thousands of CDs. I so wish I could start collecting vinyl but feel at my age its kinda late in the game ha ha!! I love your accent and wish I could sit and chat with you and talk with you about music. So again ,glad to have happened upon your channel and will return again. So you stay safe in the mean time.
Hi Ehlerhog and thanks for watching! I really appreciate your kind words. I hope you losing sleep over my videos is worth the while :-) CD's are great as well and to be honest much more convenient than LP's, but I never stopped collecting them. I started in the late 80's when I still was a child. All my pocket money went into buying records. In the 90's I bought whatever I could find and many collections were donated to charity shops. That really boosted my collecting instinct. So many great titles for next to nothing. Those days are gone, but these days there are so many excellent reissues on the market which still make collecting records and discovering "new" music so much fun. One is never too old to start up something which is a lot of fun. Take care! I hope to see you back in the comment section. I appreciate the company! Nico
Great ramblings great finds! Love Scandinavian Nights, also bought it back then. Paicey is easily in my top three of drummers from that period. Master of the snare! Very underrated imo, it seems like nothing special but when you really pay attention to what he does, man he's awesome. Glad Påsk Nico! :)
Heisann Jens! Scandinavian Nights is a great livealbum indeed, and Ian Paice is on my toplist as well, alongside Mitch Mitchell, Ginger Baker and the likes. Both he and Ritchie Blackmore are underrated musicians I think. Glad påsk til deg og familien! Nico
Hey there Nico. That is one heck of an avatar. I remember when I went digging with fellow VC member David {sequoiaflame} in Boston. The first album that he found sealed at In Your Ear Records was Aynsley's 'Dr D's Prescription. Instead of naming all of the wants that I want in everyone of your videos. I better start finding some of them so I can thank you via my video. Although all of the shops are closed from here on in. That is until they lift the coronavirus ban. Always the best catching up with you Brother N~ Rob/Boston
Hi brother Rob! Thanks for always dropping by and commenting. I really appreciate that. I hope the record stores and the rest of the society gets back to normal in not too long, even though it doesn't look promising right now. At least we can support the record stores online. I hope you are doing fine in these strange times. Take care and stay safe buddy! Nico
Hey Nico, I think you finally convinced me to hunt down a copy of JD Blackfoot's The Ultimate prophesy! Great stuff as usual. Look forward to your mix tape episode.
Ah, that's great news Central Scrutinizer! I don't think you'll be disappointed with that album. In my opinion it's one of the best late era psych albums from the US. Take care and stay safe! Nico
Hello Nico........Nice panoramic view on this episode and nice records as always.......I have Locomotive myself and is great..........really like the Hammond sound.........Gods and the Retalation are fantastic originals..........All the best and stay safe.........
Hey Kit! Thanks for watching and commenting. Yeah, my camera does that "fish eye" lens thing. I agree. Locomotive is a great album indeed. Take care and stay safe you too mate. Nico
You are the coolest dude in the VC with all the killer records! I always look so forward to your vids! I thought I was the only Made In Sweden fan!! lol Great band!!!
Thanks James for your kind words! I really appreciate you taking the time to watch and comment. Made In Sweden were great indeed! Take care and stay safe. Nico
Nico, I have been doing a bit of on-line digging, too. A nice way to pass the time, though expensive. The Deep Purple is the only album you showed that I have, besides the Ansley Dunbar albums, except I need to find their last. Thanks, Chris
Hi Chris! Thanks for watching and commenting. I agree, it's a nice way to spend the time...and money. Music really is the medicine of choice, both in these home bound times, but also when everything is normal. Remains to be heard by Aynsley Dunbar Retaliation is definitely worth getting. Take care and stay safe! Nico
Hello there Nico once again you have me doing some homework on some these titles. Excellent video and am glad you’re doing well in these crazy times. That Satin Whale is phenomenal and super hard to find. Never seen that live Deep Purple must check it out. Take care and look forward to hearing your new mix tape video. Bye for now 😎👍 john
Hi John! Thanks for watching and commenting. I appreciate that. Yeah, these home bound times aren't good for the personal economy if one has an expensive hobby, such as collecting records. Oh well, at least we're rich on music :-) I can absolutely recommend Deep Purple - Scandinavian Nights. It's live from 1970 (I think I failed to mention what year it was from). Satin Whale sure is phenomenal! I love that record. So, what did you buy during these home confinement times? Take care and stay safe! Nico
@@NicoMalcolm Well I kinda went a bit haywire if you will but I found some priceless grails on my want list. Some of which are because of your recommendations. Managed to get originals of Frumpy All Will Be Changed and there 2nd with all the inserts both are amazing. Also just got Guru Guru's Kanguru on the Brain label just excellent.Found a third press of Ash Ra Tempels 1st one w/gimmick foldout cover its surprisingly in good condition and the vinyl plays well. One item I had been looking for at a reasonable price was Night Sun' Mournin Lp found a guy who had a 1976 reissue dam I love that one and that's definitely from you playing them. I must say over the yrs you have cost me a lot of money but its been well worth it because of all the great bands I now know of from watching your videos. I now have an emerging Krautrock collection but dam some of thoses titles are insanely priced. Anyway it was great hearing back from you oh before I leave I know you like Angsley Dunbar did you ever see him play? I once did back in 81 he was drumming for jefferson starship then but I remember him doing a drum solo amazing player. Well good grief I've written one here haven't I sorry about that will go for now please take care and stay healthy :)
Yeah, I think he played with Zappa for about 6 years. The Gods were a good psych/pop/rock band. Both their albums are well worth having. Thanks for watching Richie! Take care. Nico
Hey Christina Vinyl Guru :-) Thanks for stopping by and commenting! Yeah, I'm very pleased with my music hideaway. It's a very good place to stay for hours and hours on end. I hope you find some of my showings are to your taste. Take care and stay safe! Nico
Hey Happy Gamer! Thanks for watching and commenting. No, I'm not familiar with Lotus, so thanks for the tip. I really appreciate that and will definitely check them out. Take care and stay safe! Nico

I’m most familiar with Ansley Dunbar’s stint with Zappa. To Samuel A On is a nice find.
