you have the best backgammon channel on yt, imo. in a different universe, i can easily see card counting and casino blackjack having become your obsession (as it was mine in my youth). but thank goodness it turned out to be backgammon, which has a crowd of much nicer and more genuine people. always looking forward to your next video!
Hey Laurence! Thanks so much, that means a lot! 😊 This channel sure is a lot of fun to work on! I do enjoy some Texas Holdem haha, but I could see going down a rabbit hole with that too haha. Cheers! 😃
Michy, Akiko, Wachtel, Wells, Jamaica (Bri?)... You're a lucky man. Again great vid. It's been said I'm sure but ... this the most entertaining, light hearted BG channel on youtube (i'm sure the money 'll start coming in soon !!) Keep it up!! love and respect from the U.K. J.
It was really cool to be around so many greats! 😁 There's so many videos I'd love to do with each of them, haha! We count ourselves as very fortunate! We really appreciate the kind words, it means a lot, and we're glad you're enjoying the content! Cheers! 😀
She really is! She was so kind and easy to approach too! Yes! I'm so glad you liked it. Opening Concepts is still my favorite book and my most recommended too. Very easy to digest and so many great takeaways. Cheers!
Great video Jason... hope to see you at a tournament in the coming months. I will be in DC in November, NYC in January, and DC again in April... safe travels.
Hi Jason and Bri. I love your videos. You manage to capture so much of what makes backgammon great and manage to present it in a way where the fun and excitement shines through. No small feat. On top of that you also succeed in making it clear that it is a skill game that takes a lifetime to master. Keep up the good work. Best Regards Peter Hallberg (2004 World Champion)
Hi Peter! Thank you so much! That really means a lot to us and we appreciate your kind words 😀 We're so glad that the fun and excitement is shining through as well as the skill it takes to be great. We're looking forward to making a lot more videos and are excited that you're following along in the journey! Cheers! 😁
One way to sole the puzzle is by getting the pip count for the final position: 115, which is 52 pips less than the starting position (167). Then try to find all the combinations of the pip counts for three doubles that add up to 52. A hint is that you do not want to play the doubles naturally, moving two from one point at a time.
Wow, I did it and it only took me like 20 mins. 😂 But yes that's a very good hint. You have to look at the 3 spares on the 5 point and think of the best way to utilize those efficiently with the 3 rolls you are given.
Two different people have won the "World Championships" three times, although the tournament has changed over the years so there is not 100% historical agreement as to who won it each year and what was officially the world championship.
Hey Neil! I saw that too with the first three years, right? I was debating throwing in a piece of correction text for clarification on that part. Still a fun piece of trivia! Cheers!
Typically they’re called baffle boxes but they also go by dice towers. They’re definitely nice! Personally I prefer dice cups because there’s something about actually shaking the dice that I love. But the baffle boxes save on time that’s for sure 😃

Love the 80s montage music at the end during the finals match shots. Well done you two! Thanks for the coverage 🍻
Hah! Thanks Jason! I was actually thinking of Karate Kid or Rocky when I was editing it, haha. Thanks for stopping by and cheers my friend! 😁

Akiko is such an inspiration, I love her! And thank you for suggesting the Michy book, it's the best backgammon book I read by far

That dice tower thingy? What's it called? Seems smarter then cups.
