Hello Andy ... Always great to see you 😍 Always interesting, educational and a lot of fun. Thanks for sharing these beauties 😍 I hope you're having a great day 🙏🌿🐟🌿💚💙
Thanks Andy another great video it sure makes her holiday here in the United States for giving us something good to watch like your videos and your fish good luck with all those fry I hope you get one that is really unusual thanks
You have definitely increased the odds of getting a higher percentage of red dovi fry Andy. When the red bay snook came on the market hear in Australia there wasn't many, fast forward 10years and the Green or "original " bay snook are almost gone from the trade, what i noticed was they didn't start peeling until they were 10+ cms, almost 15cms,maybe yours red dovi are the same 👌🤛🤜👊👍😊🇦🇺🇦🇺
Hey Andy! I Love your videos man. I've been subscribed forever. But I lost the other account and had to make this new one lol. I plan on doing a plywood aquarium build in my fish room in the next couple of years. After I find some viewing panes big enough. I want a Wolfie so bad man! I had a question for you. How long would a 4x2x2 120, or a 125 last me for a Blue Dovii? They're my favorite fish! I Just don't want to get a dovii if he couldn't last a couple of years in my 120, or 125. I wouldn't want any fish I have to suffer. I would be keeping him solo. I could probably put a sump on either. Get a 40g breeder for a sump when the dollar a gallon sale happens. Anyway, any information would be amazing! The Plywood build is going to be around 500 gallons. Its gunna be HUUUUUUGE!! Can't wait.
Also, I dunno why you apologize for "waffling" on. Its honestly the number one reason I watch these videos. You crack me up! Much love from the states brother.
Went to wharf Aquatics on Wednesday awesome shop with excellent range of fish will be going back to get some just need to free up some tank space first…
Great Video Andy, I have a pair of Jags 4/5”, they have recently spawned but since the fry have come along they hide all day! 5ft tank all to themselves. Any suggestions to get them out a bit more?
They're coming along nicely, In my opinion out of the three male Dovii it would be between Fanta and Rufus for which is the best example. The first male currently housed with Coral is an older fish (compared to the others) that hasn't grown on as well, the body shape gives this away. Fanta has the best form for his future eventual size but lacks the extravagant finnage of Rufus. Colour is hard to decide from the videos as you say it doesn't do them justice.
Could be that you have better results from the little second generation growouts, with higher percentage of the red gene having come from two red parents.
Andy Sir, Do you have a Facebook page?? - I have some pics I'd love to share with you ~ PS - some times it takes time for a fish to peel / morph. i have a hybrid show stopper of a fish that's a Jaguar cichlid -x- Golden base Kamfa Flowerhorn hybrid, he was over 5 inches long before he started to morph
😂😂 That's pretty obvious. I wasn't sure if the male had done his bit his side of the divider. I've bred substrate spawning cichlids this way quite a few times before. Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment Happy fishkeeping to you sir.
Keep waffling andy

This
I have a 10inch red dovii, how can I tell male or female? Thx andy
She us what's referred to as a Piebald female. It's not a genetic trait that will transfer to the babies she should produce regular red morph dovi.
It's possible that the parents of your pair were not both Reds
Could be that you have better results from the little second generation growouts, with higher percentage of the red gene having come from two red parents.
Watch Rufas for ick. I see he was twitching his pektoral fins.
