Bobby Hundreds and Rawkus Records co-founder Jarret Myer discuss the history of the iconic independent hip-hop imprint that housed groundbreaking acts like Company Flow, Pharoahe Monch, and Black Star. Rawkus truly propelled the sounds of the underground into the mainstream, and introduced classic albums like Black on Both Sides and enduring hip-hop hits like “Simon Says” to the world.
The Hundreds has collaborated with many brands through the years, but this latest collaboration with Rawkus Records was a natural fit, a way for Bobby to link up with the hip-hop record label that carved out their own niche thanks to their lyricism, street consciousness, and most importantly, their defiant independence.

This is such a perfect collab. Respect to The Hundreds for recognizing such a legendary brand.
You were definitely a fan my dude. good write up.
I grew up on rawkus ,love the interview
You don't know a good interview when you see one...
this was too short, RAWKUS needs a whole at least an hour documentary
Is the actual interview posted anywhere? I think Jared got in about 3 words in this “interview” edit
Blackstarr keep shining
Blast holes n the night till it bled sunshine
Glad to see you guys are back making videos again! What ever happened to the eat & greet miami video?
Still my label right along with Loud
More like Bobby Hundreds speaks to..... Bobby Hundreds
Some of the best albums came out during this era period. Rawkus really did so much for the culture though!
This wasn’t a interview- it was Bobby talking for 6 minutes lol
I hate they didnt clear the Godzilla sample properly. That hurt Internal Affairs so much and it's a classic. Simon Sez still tears a club up
you talked more then the person you interviewed. #fail
haha job interview....if he got murdoch instead that would have been incredible...he could have started with an opening line of 'you dads an asshole'
Rawkus real impact was 96-2000
By the time Lyricist Lounge 2 or Soundbombing 3 was out you knew it was over… they must have run out of the seed cash at that point… for a label that practically defined themselves as underground that was a huge mistake although I guess they just never made money anyway starting around the time Napster came out meant certain doom
"Now, you wanna keep it real, you go to Rawkus"
Can you please re-sell the Rawkus collection!!! the previous collection was too DOPE!!!!
Reflection Eternal
Y did they skip soundbombing series and kool g rap?
wheres the kool keith segment, he ran rawkus
So intelligent
Ask EL-P about Rawkus today... lol but seriously I don't think Rawkus ever put anything out that was bad... They are like the Hooj Choons (house label) of hip-hop...
dude can talk nd but he need to take a breath and let the creators get a little shine, too
backpack hip hop
That venom prison shirt tho
