The suns needed a rebrand that reflected their journey as a football club and where they've been. Well no wonder it looks so shit then. It all makes sense now.
As an eagles fan I maintain 2018 was more about our new stadium that most clubs couldn’t figure out how to play on than us being the leagues best team (which we weren’t). This gave us an advantage on the ladder and secured two home finals before being the team Pies choked against. We got found out the next year and it’s been downhill ever since.
Do you ever not whinge about this club. Were Fremantle successful in 2018? Or what about Adelaide when they moved to the Adelaide oval, did they find premiership success that year? Did Port win the flag?
Apologies for nitpicking. Gold Coast’s yellow/blue guernsey is a clash guernsey. Crows have also released their home guernsey as well and it’s unchanged besides their collar
Gold Coast’s new uniform is basically a plain red singlet. Cos from the vantage point of the stands that is all both of their fans will see at the games.
My guess is it's all in the timing. You don't rebrand when things are really grim. You rebrand when it's exciting. The 3 rebranded teams feel they're at the beginning of the excitement. It's not a coincidence. But I think it's a symptom of forseeable change
Don't rely on a refresh of logo to lead to automatic success. Some teams have taken a few more years to gain premiership success. Look at Collingwood, they rebranded in 2018 and took 5 years to win the premiership in 2023, West Coast's new updated logo came in in 2017 and the following won the premiership, but it wasn't off the back of a new branding, its all about hard work and winning games alone and have a good onfield performance.
I’ll get a lot of hate for that but I think the GC logo is a huge upgrade. I don’t know but it looks kinda cool for me. Jumper’s a different story. The away/alternative jumper looks good for me, the home jumper, well red on red doesn’t work.
You're forgetting Fitzroy. Lightened their blue and maroon in 1974 and added yellow. Only 5 finals appearances in next 20 years, only once passed a semi final (and that was over a decade after the change). Never made a grand final and ended up bankrupt and gone.
St Kilda need to change their name to Frankston or Moorabbin. They need something because they’ve going nowhere as usual just making up the number. Perhaps they could change to red black and green.
Thumbs up again. Think the Saints need more than a rebrand. Been a rudderless footy club for awhile now. Like a drunk postman. Promise to deliver, and don't.
The collingwood logo from 2018 onwards still looks great.
100% looks so classy

I kinda not dislike it. It is an upgrade for me. Just weird to make it red on a red jumper.
Why on earth did gold coast think the new logo needed to be RED on RED?!!???!!?!
It’s not, it’s just red. It’s just weird that they put it like that on a red jumper.

@@kdzdr what a shit change too. Collar looks fkn weird
Suns 'S' logo is way better, Saints is a nice tweak, dont mind Adelaide's new logo either. Great angle for a video, cheers!
All shit clubs though
Who do u follow ?

Gold Coast's red Guernsey looks like half the players at training, turning their jumpers inside out for practice match simulation.

Richmond also changed their logo in 2012 and started to play finals after that

Im confused' where the G and C are in the new Gold Coast logo. I know there is an S, a sun and a football.
I suppose it helps to market your Team .
Ok I'm booking September off work
Crom dynasty time
@ConnorHatzipetrou mate I'll be happy with 1
@ tbh I just wanna watch us play in September
I think Freo went to all dark purple and 1-2 years later made their first and only grand final.
Need to get money on a Gold Coast v St Kilda GF now
I want fremantles old logo
Gold Coast could have done something awesome with their colours...
The changed logo won't help the Crows, as they promise all recruits that they will never have to play in September

North should change their Guernsey to Tassie Devils .
So that's the answer to North Melbourne's problem. Change the Guernsey and get out the bottom 2. If only Fitzroy knew this in time.
Essendon and North Melbourne should change their logos😂😂😂

No.. if Bulldogs, Richmond and West Coast 2016-18 taught us anything it’s fix your jumper.. win a flag.
Maybe for most, but never for St Kilda
