Hi Angela, Russ Taff was also one of the lead singers of the Contemporary Christian Music Group called "The Imperials" before he embarked on his solo career...Very nice reaction Angela, keep up the good work!!!
My favourite Christian Artist period!! And this song was possibly my favourite because it came out at the same time as my dad was diagnosed with cancer , so the words meant a lot to me and still do 33 years later. He has so many great songs that showcase his crazy good voice but there is just something about this song ❤️❤
I have been a big Russ Taff fan for the last 40 years. In the Christian Contemporary Music genre for years he was known as "The Voice". If you heard it, you immediately knew who it was. I agree that this song was not really the best to showcase his voice on DayOne. Most of his catalog isn't the music played here but a couple of songs, that do showcase his voice are "Ain't No Grave", a rocking, soulful rendition of the black gospel song from the fantastic album of similar songs called "Under Their Influence" and "I Still Believe" on the album of the same name. Both available on Amazon music. Love this podcast. Thanks for taking a chance on something a little different.
Russ Taff is a awesome Christian Contemporary Artist from the mid-70's till now, if he's still singing, he was a part of the band The Imperials. He has many songs that are awesome, but when you get the chance check out his song Be Still My Soul.✌️🙏
This song was nice, smooth & mellow, and I agree with you in the sense that it didn't showcase his best...He has a great voice and he's had many other great songs that are listed below by others in the comment section...By all means, please react to him again...
This was probably his biggest hit along with "We Will Stand" (1983) and "Praise the Lord" (back with the Imperials). You might like We Will Stand better? His self titled album (1987) is one of the best 80s CCM album. And incidentally the first concert I ever attended as a yoot back then (Brian Duncan, Rene Garcia and Bash n the Code opening) For something really special try Ellie Holcomb - "Constellations".

Bad choice for an intro song to Russ Taff. He had way better songs than this one. He had a phenomenal voice. If you're interested in hearing more, his biggest hit was called "We Will Stand".
I wouldn't say it was his biggest hit, it was a great song, but he had many hit songs. I would agree that it was a bad choice to be introduced to Russ Taff.
