Tib is actually one of my favorite damages to play, specifically because of how the ricochet works. Intentionally landing a cluster of combat trance ricochet shots is so damn satisfying. Cheesy, but satisfying.
There's so many cheesy tactics in this game that i'd say being killed with a ricochet from Tiber is the least of our worries right now. It makes him stand out from the rest a bit
I am a proud Tiberius Main and I think people just sleep on his mobility build which gives him a great advantage in open areas or wide maps. His movement can be clunky sometimes but when u are playing him a while u will eventually get used to it
Could he get some Caspian treatment i wonder? He also had his mobility be very clunky, but tbf, he is a closer range flank, not a backline damage champ.
Not a tib main but he is certainly my favorite dmg. Just as you say in the video, he is mostly balanced. Good dmg, good anti flank, solid overall kit. He could still use a few minor buffs to a few cards, his movement leap a bit faster and that's about it. I would love a card or talent that decreases the CD of tigron leap for each blade hit similar to that one Maeve card.
Sharing my thoughts as a former Tiberius main who has been sticking with flanks lately, 8:10 - Predatory Instincts (aka double bounce chak talent) was weirdly popular for a few weeks after dawnforge was introduced I feel like the main reason Tib isn't very popular is because while his kit isn't bad, it feels clunky. His jump feels like Bucks leap, but slow, telegraphed, and unresponsive. His sword reactivation tends to just interrupt your reload at the worst time, and his effectiveness is almost completely tied to his trance uptime, which is at the weird cooldown window where Chronos isn't very effective, and his one cd reduction card is unreliable to proc. I feel like most people picking him up to learn, mostly do so just to meme about his ult gen, before realizing that you get No DR, no CC protection, and long, telegraphed animations for only decent damage. And sadly, almost all of his skins aren't available. The Oni skins don't even show up in his skin list if you missed that battlepass, I only learned about them for the first time on the pts. Lifeguard is a meme, the leopard print one is just sad, and so the only good ones displayed are Nightstalker, which is permanently locked and only shown in order to torture us, and his Gold skin, which hardly anyone survives the grind for. So goes to say, I wholeheartedly agree, Tiberius needs some love, same with the other older champions like Corvus, Imani, and Willow.
It’s funny, I just recently played Tiberius after literal years of not touching him! I was surprised when I got top damage and kills and got some very good value from his ult. I feel like he has good damage, a decent ult for stalling, and pretty decent cards and is overall a fun character to play
Tib needs a actual first talent and aside of that just some extra love from the community. As mentioned he is perfectly balanced and can be a lot of fun.
That first talent should also give additional bonus damage for reach ricochet you do, that way 2 more ricochets would make much more sense, and that talent will be very useful on maps with a lot of walls. Everything else is pretty nice on him
Andreeeeew!! You should use his heavy blade more! Hahaha Im a Tiberius Main! His only problem is the short locks between his skills, like how it takes some time to channel the jump, or the in betweens of the charges of the ult. I guess they could buff the ult by giving him dr when landing after a whirling blade so he doesnt instantly die, idk i want him to be cc immune during some parts of the ult but i guess that would be too broken for my liking. In his current state though, his ult's best utility is not to damage but to use one-two charges of the ult so u can fly and reposition, then cancel to keep some ult charges. Also, the best thing about tiberius is his heavy blade, being such a nice combo after jumping or throwing main fire, and i never have to worry about andro reversal or tank's shields. So good.
I main Tiberius! Hopium for first talent rework and more air control for F as you said, haha! Also the thing about style you said is so true, i mainly play him because he is cool in every way, gameplay or character 😅 And dont even get me started on how badass I feel when I get overtime touch by ulting through the sky down on 5 enemies using RMB
The main problem with him is that all of his skill are super clunky. Jump takes a century to go off and has absolutely no air control; main fire has a weird feeling when not using his Q and the reload cannot be interrupted by using other skils, which means that if you run out of Ammo when fighting someone, you can't even throw your sword to finish them off until the reload ends, if you are on high ping it can sometimes deal only the rebound damage even with direct hits; His sword also bugs out from time to time and keeps you stuck on the recall animation; Ultimate doesn't apply caut and doesn't have enough damage to kill someone fast enough while also putting you directly in line of fire since you have to get close, most of the time you will use to escape instead of dealing damage. Overall he is a good character with good damage output and can be really good on some maps, like Ice mines, but is held back by these issues.
Tibby main here. Wish pounce had some other effects, like a bit more air control and a quasi float mechanic ala Devil May Cry from shooting. First talent should be reworked into a mini ult, eg. a sword stance. Strictly melee.
making it so that instead of (or aswell) as giving more bounces, making it so you gain damage which each bounce instead of losing damage with each bounce might be interesting
Predatory Instinct Should be in basekit (2 addition Chakram bounces) and replaced with an ult buff, like additional effects when he hits with dash.(300 shield per hit)
If they make a talent so that his ult hits deal AoE damage to every target hit instead, I think that may give more damage potential to his ult and make it less of a mobility only tool
On one map i was randomly shooting at wall abd actually dehorse's and killed only with rickochets and also for damage im tiberius main hes very cool and fun to play actually
Tib is like hyper balanced tbh thing is he doesn't have the coolest kit so he flys low, they probably could add the bounce talent to his base kit and make a new talent and that would be fine
I have a Tiberius load out. I like to call it "The Sniber Tiber." It's really just a chakram spam load out, but I use predatory instincts, and it's a lot of fun. (Disclaimer: I'm not a pro!)
As a Tibs main I enjoy playing him. I would agree that his mobility skill could definitely be better with less start up lag. If I could change the first talent, maybe some life steal With maybe a 7-3 cooldown on his combant trance, increasing his damage out put. (Combat trance is a 14 sec cooldown!) But in the end of the day, he pretty good like you said! Just wish a few things were changed!
The problem is his ult. If the other team got Torvald for example, the ult is useless. This makes him situational, since other damage champs have good ults. If his ult isn't countered he is fine. Like in this match. I wouldn't say he is balanced. Since other damage champs are not situational.
The ricochet talent would be a lot better if the geometry on the maps where a bit more precise, right now the way his weapon bounces just isnt reliable enough. Also a dmg increase each bounce would be cool.
Tiberius is a really balanced DPS. And by balanced, i mean it . Hes not strong, not weak, hes just allright and that has its caveats. Yet im lvl 61 with him
honestly I hope they don't rework the ulti or the dash, he's fine the way he is. The talent rework makes sense tho. I treat tibe ulti like a zhin ulti; either use it to confirm a kill in a 1v1 or use it for movement. And with how fast he gets his ult, the movement potential is so nice. He's honestly in a perfect state rn. He's the Maldamba of the dmg class. Other characters are just better, but if you main him, it's rewarding.
I think maybe they should remove predatory instincts and make it where his sword cripples and to make up for the cripple maybe remove the slow, I think that’s fair

I absolutely LOVE Tiberious and I’d say he’s fine as he is except he suffers the Azaan treatment where he has one good(needed) talent, one meh talent and a bad/unnecessary talent. 2nd talent should be in base but that’s just my opinion

The first talent is like having Eternal with Azaan, sure you can have uptime with DR and AoE shits but it’s not worth the lost dmg. The difference is that with Tiberius it doesn’t really help him, sure you might hit someone but it’s kinda useless when you have a 2nd talent
Idk, an exploding sword is kinda useless. It is better if the sword comes back to you. That way, you can right click and kill the champion that is coming after you. It is basically a boomerang. @@marquisepixley684
Did they nerf him at some point? Because I remember people complaining back then that he was annoying to play against and did crazy damage. And his default talent was a problem for some people too, in a small room it was driving people crazy. He got all kinds of the “you don’t even have to aim/braindead” comments.
Just make him jump like Buck and he'd be 85% better. I usually use his extra bounce talent because the sword throw I use for cool down reduction so I enjoy throwing it through groups of people vs at the floor or walls and his other talent? Is just extra wind up jumps? So I don't touch that. Just make his first talent three charges of a stronger ult and improve his jumps and it should be a world of more fun
I main Tib, and as a Tib main... I gotta warn everyone who plays him. Beware of the recall bug. Being stuck in the recall position for 10-15 seconds because the sword will just not come back is awful and can easily lead to your demise. So no Tib ain't unplayable... BUT! He needs to be fixed.

This is long but hear me out LOL. I look at tib as more of a "damage support. Its not easy to secure kills from even mid distance, but his combat trance makes it so he can soften up a whole crowd with random spam. But after that, he has no "push power nor keep away" power, which is where other damages come in with their continuous uptime in damage, which he works well with, hence a damage "support." Tib is a "catch up character." Hes always catching up in damage. He does often have top damage in the lobby, but the games always feel like a struggle if hes the only damage lol. And it all comes down to core parts of his kit not being able to be utilized often. The bounces are a HUUUUUGE part of his kit, but the way the walls in the majority of maps are, you cant make the bounces go where you want them to. He'd honestly need a nerf in damage if every wall was reliable tho so idk, it just sucks not being able to comfirm kills from such a stylish ability. Dont even get me started on his jump/mobility.
It’s so strange - when I come across videos by overwatch players like “let’s try paladins!” Almost always through their criticisms of the anti-heal, graphics, busted characters etc they end up going, “but I really liked the tiger guy!” And I don’t really play him so I’m just like wtf why does every overwatch player like tibby WHAT DOES HE HAVE
They need to make his ult CC immune, at least then he'd have guaranteed value. His talents are meh and his cards are meh outside of the ones that give him bonus ult charge. Also his reload is way too long, I know it's a pretty animation that evil mojo made but damn
Ultimate is bad and his F too, because it take full second just to prepare for a jump and all this time you stand still, so it can't be called an escape ability.
tiberius and maeve have that "balanced" problem imo at least maeve is popular due to looks and stuff like that but I see her being less and less picked
tiberius is the the thing that i love and hate the most in this game. love because weretigers are some of my favorites folklore creatures, and because his overall design is really well done, but i hate him because i see champions getting a lot of love from the devs, and even tho he is one of the champion that most needed that love, he never gets what he deserves, the devs were super lazy with his talent, putting one pretty useless talent, and another that is just a worst copy of a talent from another champion, his builds are pretty much all the same he has absolutely no build diversity, which paired with the lack of talent diversity, turns him in one of the most wronged champions in the game. but yeah, i still love him, and he always make me comeback to the game when i get drained from it
I think a fair change for his first talent (the extra bounces on chakrams) would be to add extra damage to the shots per bounce (I have either 100 or 125 in mind, but that could be changed.) It would allow players to actually have a reason to go for bounce shots, plus makes Tib pretty dangerous when you're in tight spaces
Yeah Mr.Chicken, 1775 dmg burst combo + 30% slow seems fair and balanced, 1350 dmg per second when you use "COMBAT TRANCE" too. (Viktor damage per second is 1400 but it's not that easy to hit)
He's not popular cuz no one wants be caught playing a furry. He is super fun to play though! You feel so awesome popping drogozes from the sky and taking down champions

I like vicious assault for the 2 movements and also because I use the alt fire card that cools down on hits with it

I love to play with Tiberius. The chakra ability is a good solution against flanks. The real problem is snippers.

Tib needs a 50% increase animation for his movement ability and reduced lock time between his ult usages and he will be in a much better position

They need to make his ult CC immune, at least then he'd have guaranteed value. His talents are meh and his cards are meh outside of the ones that give him bonus ult charge.
Also his reload is way too long, I know it's a pretty animation that evil mojo made but damn

Ultimate is bad and his F too, because it take full second just to prepare for a jump and all this time you stand still, so it can't be called an escape ability.
tiberius and maeve have that "balanced" problem imo at least maeve is popular due to looks and stuff like that but I see her being less and less picked
tiberius is the the thing that i love and hate the most in this game. love because weretigers are some of my favorites folklore creatures, and because his overall design is really well done, but i hate him because i see champions getting a lot of love from the devs, and even tho he is one of the champion that most needed that love, he never gets what he deserves, the devs were super lazy with his talent, putting one pretty useless talent, and another that is just a worst copy of a talent from another champion, his builds are pretty much all the same he has absolutely no build diversity, which paired with the lack of talent diversity, turns him in one of the most wronged champions in the game. but yeah, i still love him, and he always make me comeback to the game when i get drained from it

I think a fair change for his first talent (the extra bounces on chakrams) would be to add extra damage to the shots per bounce (I have either 100 or 125 in mind, but that could be changed.) It would allow players to actually have a reason to go for bounce shots, plus makes Tib pretty dangerous when you're in tight spaces
Yeah Mr.Chicken, 1775 dmg burst combo + 30% slow seems fair and balanced, 1350 dmg per second when you use "COMBAT TRANCE" too. (Viktor damage per second is 1400 but it's not that easy to hit)

1300 + cripple with sand trap talent and rapid shot 600 ish damage per shot

He's not popular cuz no one wants be caught playing a furry. He is super fun to play though! You feel so awesome popping drogozes from the sky and taking down champions
