    "we are genuinely sorry for any anxiety caused", but not for the actual issues faced by these people. If I learned anything working in customer service, it is that roundabout statements like this, especially by people responsible, are always attempts to evade responsibility, not to accept it.

      Mum Mum What is not being publicised is that it was meant to be 'The Five Year Plan'. People from the Caribbean were offered to come here to work for five years only, make more money than they would at home then return to their homes there. They stayed illegally, and bankster relatives/friends governments turned a blind eye because they wanted enough labour to lower all workers wages to create this, what we have today. Black, white and inbetween still as slaves on one level or another, 'owned' by 'them'.
      Dontell Jackson "We thought they were white". They did the same to whites. It is also on the logs of the culprits slave ships, auctions in the Caribbean and America - but 'they' lie because if the truth got out enough 'they' couldn't blame white Europeans for what 'they' did to black also.
      Stolen 4/5yr old white children and adults coshed and dragged onto slave ships were NOT willing indentured!

    Anyone watching this has, I assume, access to the internet. The National Archive is available free of charge to anyone who wants to look at old official documents. A very simple search will bring up letters to Prime Minister Clement Attlee from concerned politicians after the first West Indian migrants hopped off the Windrush. In these letters it is clear that not a single member of the British Government extended an invitation to natives of Jamaica to come here. They were not called for, they simply turned up of their own accord, to make better lives for themselves in the face of chronic unemployment, potential starvation and civil unrest back home.

    • @irisfevrier9619
      @irisfevrier9619 3 месяца назад +1

      I suppose you do remember the fact that under 1948 Commonwealth Law Jamaicans were British subjects and were free to move to any British place to improve their lives. Just as anyone moving from, say, a rural area to a city in search of work. Why would they need any government official's invitation to do so?

    Windrush is a complete load of tosh, for one how did the people that came here suddenly become qualified skilled builders from countries that weren't up to our standards.
    For one we had prisoners of war who built estates like cherry tree in charlton and an influx of Irish like my grandfather who were in the trade and if we needed all these people why did we allow our skilled labours like my other grandfather who took up the deal to go to Australia for a £10? At least 1 million over time left
    The only reason for windrush was to replace the population end of.
    Cultural European genocide was planned a long time ago.

    • @johno4521
      @johno4521 8 месяцев назад

      The ship was renamed in British service. Merchant ships in service with the United Kingdom Government during and after World War 2 had names prefixed with the word Empire. These vessels were known as Empire ships and numbered around 1,300. Windrush was one of around sixty empire ships that were named after British rivers. Empire Windrush's namesake, the River Windrush is a small tributary of the Thames, that flows through the Cotswolds towards Oxford.
