AJJ is an American folk punk band from Phoenix, Arizona, originally formed in 2004 as Andrew Jackson Jihad. Their lyrics handle themes of shyness, poverty, humanity, religion, addiction, existentialism, and politics. AJJ frontman Sean Bonnette can summarize the band’s new album, Good Luck Everybody, in a single sentence: “Sonically, it’s our least punk record, and lyrically, it’s our most punk record.” And indeed, Good Luck Everybody (January 17, 2020), the Arizona band’s seventh album, stands out in their already diverse catalog. While still rooted in the folk-punk sound AJJ has become known for, the album is unafraid to delve into new territories that test the limits of what the band is capable of. “I think it explores some of the weirder sides of AJJ, the more experimental leanings that we’ve had in the past,” says bassist Ben Gallaty.

@@yukimonski thats a personal preference, just becuase they dont drop full on punk releases as they did in the past doesn't change the band. All their music is still superior to a lot of artists who have lasted even half the time of them. If you don't like it, you dont have to listen to it. But there is a reason they are evolving their sound. Almost every band does it

god I love the way they rework songs for the live setting, that body terror song breakdown goes so fucking hard. love that little moment during it where they all move away from the mic and you can still slightly hear them singing “uninvited, passing through us”
The best thing about AJJ, is they approach EVERY performance like it's EXTREMELY important. Whether a big arena, or a van.

these dudes still sound great. i miss going to see them when they were andrew jackson jihad. i drove from milwaukee to chicago so many times to watch these dudes live. those shows introduced me to some great bands they had as opening acts. even got a chance to smoke a cigarette with sean once; he just walked up to my buddy and i before the show. i was shy and awkward but he's a super nice guy.
