Real learning is ugly. It’s a process that we’ve all been through but one that we can ALL definitely spend more time doing.
Two things get in the way of this:
    1. Fixed mindset stories. Our last video talked about how we can use the science of learning to overcome those stories.
    2. Fear. The fear of the unknown, the fear of the struggle, the fear of looking bad.
These are the biggest enemies to learning (that we have control of).
In order to become a great learner we HAVE to overcome fear. It’s not easy, it’s not fun, but it’s something that we can all do. This video shows us how.
No topic has been more beneficial to me than this one, which is why we made such a massive video about it!
I hope you enjoy it - but more importantly I hope that it changes the way you think about and talk about fear.
    -Trev

I literally remember being the third grade student playing baseball. I always wanted to be outfield. I was not trying to face the uncertainty or the responsibility of the ball coming my way infield.

A month back when I watched this video, I could follow your advice for nearly 4 days...after that I didn't even notice I got back to my old habits of comfort zone and preferring effortless activities like netflix, etc all the time...Today I got frustrated and reminded me of this video...here I am again..I hope i will follow your convincing explanation of our tendencies and apply your advice without fail this time.

You are awesome! I love the way you explain things! I am not sure if it matters, but I am pretty sure the amygdala is located at the intersection of a line going through your eye and slightly behind the temple. It's not in the back of the skull.

Let's go deep... philosophical anthropology is an incredibly interesting topic imo. In my COMMUNITY section: "The human evolution process, an essay with modern philosophical anthropology as a basis" I reflect on the modern human species and its relation to energy transformation and space exploration. My basic question is, should modern mankind still be called an animal, or is it now (soon) so different concerning its behaviour that it doesn't make sense anymore ?
An animal has a brain mainly to control its body functions, a modern human is more and more developing towards a brain in focus which needs a body to survive, air and food. This brain is constructed to not accept total randomness and luck for surviving in the solar system, it can by transforming energy (then being able to deflect medium sized asteroids, survive in severe ice ages etc) and spreading out in the star system, willfully affect its own probability for survival. Then it has abandoned the main principle animal world, randomness and luck concerning survival in the long run.

A message I’ve been living by my whole life is that embarrassment is the price of success. You can’t get better at something without making a fool out of yourself. But the thing is always worth it when you do it. I wish you good luck on your future endeavors!

Sorry, my lizard brain (that doesn't exist) told me not to go past 20th second of this video when I heard your old debunked theory. Concept is good, but if you could only not call it science when it isn't, it would be better.
