I adore these videos, thank you so much for making them! It almost feels like i could watch birds preen/get preened for hours.. Sometimes, though, when there are very many pin feathers at once, it reminds me of how there are people out there who neglect animals for the sake of filming "satisfying" videos.
I, of course, know that not getting to fixing every single pin-feather on a bird isn't anywhere near as bad as neglecting an animal like a lizard for the sake of making videos unclogging their pores or even harming a snake by peeling its shedded skin too early.
Anyways, i don't really know why i felt like commenting about that, it was just on my mind and i can't help but be repulsed at the thought of people exploiting animals like that. I hope your birds are doing great and that the summer is treating you well so far. :]

Please don't rub the blood feathers, I can feel the pain your birds must feel when you forcefully rub or pull their pinnies. I support your channel but you must be gentle.

Usually if a bird has a companion, the second bird would preen the pin feathers for them

Pinnies make birds itchy and irritated because they can’t get the ones on their head. It’s the natural process of how they grow new feathers.
What the person in the video is doing is helping speed up the process by shedding off the keratin shell of the new feathers manually to allow the new feathers to grow. This does not harm the bird and as you can see he liked it quite a lot.
A majority of birds don’t like to be touched, if your bird doesn’t let you touch then, simply let them grow their new feathers on their own, but spend time talking and playing with them! Hope this helps!

I have budgies who get groomed by their friend and then come over to me for another session of grooming. They love being preened by anyone! Then I get my fingers nibbled 😊
