Correction: On the Clean sound at 0:09 and 3:25 the sound from Gallien Krueger is POST not pre-EQ as it says in the video (In fact, during the whole video clean sound is the same-post EQ)
The Jive sounds amazing and can be used in so many ways. I’ve been a touring and session bassist for over 45 years, most recently with the Motown group The Miracles and I’ve got the Jive on my recording and touring board feeding into my JHS Morning Glory. Pure magic!
I agree. Now I have Double Jive for double pleasure
Dope video. Thank you.
Bravo! I love how you did the comparisons back to back to back, with both subtle and full on distortion/fuzz, playing the same musical part over and over again. This is much more useful in trying to decide if the sound or tone of a particular effect or even an instrument is what you’re looking for. I genuinely wish that more people would use this approach when they’re doing reviews. It’s far more useful than listening to them talk about the effect for 80% of the video and then in a few seconds of random playing with no structure or consistency.

Thank You so much. You are very welcome 👍
Sounds great, especially the darkglass and the catalinbread.
Thank you for this great vidéo ;-)

JPTR FX all the way! ❤
Thank you for this excellent comparison. I especially like that you're using a Precision Bass and playing with pic, which is very often the case with rock bassists who use these types of drive pedals. Your style is also very good for this comparison, first solid eighth notes (downstrokes) on the low strings and then a few additional licks higher up. Bread and butter for a straight forward Rock-n-Roll bass player. My favorite pedal so far is the Catalinbread, but I plan to try the Origin super vintage pedal, which is supposed to simulate the Ampeg drive sound even better.
The video is straight on the subject and the sound is very well recorded. Good job! 👍
Thanks You 👍
Uh burazere... Nema priče, smaranja, sve na svom mestu. I tačno ono što treba - prvo klin (clean) zvuk, pa sa malo efekta, pa klin pa sa puno efekta... Progutao sam video!!! I da, Darkglas. Ostale dodaju fuz ili drajv oko glavnog zvuka, dok kod nje nekako drajv uđe u zvuk, postane moćniji... Hvala, mislio sam da su samo za metal...
Good stuff dude! Keep em coming

Excellent demo. I already have the SFT, but I’ve now ordered a Jive as well. Subbed!
Thanks. In the meantime I sold SFT and Darkglass and bought Double Jive. It's just so good I needed two!
Cool video and nice sound. Always surprised by how “distante” the vintage sounds compared to the rest. Subscribed!
Thanks, and thanks 👍
Very Nice review as usual.
Thank You
Nice demo! I generally don't use much overdrive in my sound but my votes would be for the JPTR FX Jive and the Darkglass. Although the Caitlinbread and DOD didn't sound bad really? Nice job!- Brent, VT

Excellent video 👌🏻

Are these "beer straplocks", heh?
Good channel btw!
You’re very welcome. Yes, beer straplocks. I hope you'll like the other videos on my channel and consider subscribing. 👍
Hi- What bridge is on your Custom Shop P-bass? I don't recognize it. Thanks!- Brent
It's Fender Custom Shop RDS Bass Bridge, stock on Postmodern Precision. Can be seen on some other CS basses.
@@ObraBass Very cool thanks! It looks very chunky and solid.
What do you think about using both the JIVE and the DG Vintage on your board? Jive as always on 'clean boost' and Vintage tubes more cranked?
I used to do it a lot. Any combination of those 4 drives on my pedalboard was OK. Currently I am on 2 Jive's and a Digitech.
Darkglass pobedio. Bar mom uvetu
FX Jive baaaaaš cool na nižim tonovima
