- Hey everyone in this video I visited Northern Ireland I explored a ww2 American jet that crashed into the Bay off of Limavady Ireland. I then went metal detecting back home in Canada and found some gold! Thanks for watching and please subscribe!!
The corsair was propeller driven, not a fighter jet. And soldiers don't fly fighter planes. Pilots do!
@notrealdood yeah sure no problem! 🤣
Corsairs were one of the most beautiful aircraft ever built. It's beautiful to see and hear it. Go to Duxford or Oshkosh (any good airshow, for that matter) sometime whenever you can. You won't ever forget the experience. Learn as much as you can about each aircraft.
Thanks so much!
Not a jet it was a Vought F4U Corsair
Gold. Copper would have turned green
That’s a corsair
Corsairs were flown by the Royal Navy from HMS Aircraft carriers in WW2, so while it was built in the U.S., it was a British fighter.
Those aren't controls or cockpit, that's the remains of where the radial engine was. That's a hose, not a control. Cockpit was between and slightly behind the wings.
That's it, with the gull shaped wings still visible !
That's a Corsair, not a jet fighter.
Vought F-4U ....
1942 “jet” I don’t think so.
Germany had jets in 39 ish, didn't get jet fighters into the war until 44 ish
