      Crocs are often used as the shoes for crossing waters and additionally as your camp shoes since they are so light to carry.

      where I'm from if theres crocks in your camp site that could be real dangerous

      Same in Finland!
      But i think, if your foots get wet anyway its good that water get easily out of your shoes. And it doesnt take much time to dry your shoes😂

    The handle is soppose to be thin to prevent shock, the thicker it is the more shock travels through the handle. Also if your hands get tired from a few trees you are holding it too firmly, think of it as a whip and let the motions flow smoothly. If done properly you can fell trees all day long with proper technique and handle.

  • @cosmicbilly
    @cosmicbilly 4 года назад +2

    Just a friendly tip: When bucking logs, try making your notches alittle bigger(atleast the width of the diameter of whatever log you're bucking) and hit the tree at more of an angle. You will get bigger bites and throw bigger chips.🤘

  • @TheVeganeater
    @TheVeganeater Год назад +1

    Chopping in in our DNA, 1.9 million years of using fire will do that . Buck saws would be a easier/ safer option for bucking a log but......we love swinging the sharpened axe and busting out chips.

    About 99% of ace builders and users are going to thin thin handles it actually helps keep hands from
    Getting tire a big handle makes you tired but I can see wheee your coming from your not even close to average size lol

  • @SantaMain
    @SantaMain 2 года назад

    I'm pretty sure Liam has bigger hands than Jesse, so it's probably on purpose, to enhance shock absorption.

  • @corvuslaeus9540
    @corvuslaeus9540 6 лет назад

    Thick handles on axes are terrible regardless of your size. A thicker handle doesn't flex, absorb shock, or lend itself to proper balance.

    Well Tis a beautiful well thought out axe by Liam. Kudos. But being cheap I jumped on a Council Tool Camp Axe which is designed as a splitter. 5160 steel and also a hardened pole so you can hammer with it as well. Note my Grans Fors Bruks is my go to but around Camp , beating stakes, splitting wood for the fire the Council is boss. Thanks for sharing.

    Samurai, - you're brilliant, funny, instructive, unique, and brave. However,... Your example of sometimes not wearing eye protection frightens me. Not just for your sake, but for many, many youngsters and beginning craftsmen who will mimic your mannerisms, and will inadvertently endanger their eyes. PLEASE be more careful, and promote safe shop practices, for everyone's good.

    My guess for the handle being thinner is that it may give a little more flex which can help reduce fatigue and absorb some force. My 2 cents.
