Brother, Islam is the truth. No one should be scared about having a debate if he believes it's the truth.
All the prophets, peace be upon them all, suffered countless years while "debating" with the disbelievers, because they KNEW it was the truth.

Start with the four principles by Muhammad Abdul-wahhab
Then three fundamental principles also by Muhammad abdul-wahhab
Then move to Al-aqeedah Al wasitiyah by Ibn Taymeyyah
Also with the Quran every day bc it's the main book along with learn like 5 hadiths every day or 4,3 days a week
      Start with Umdatul Ahkam
Make sure you memorize the Quran, hadith, and the small books like the first two ones I recommended
And the most important part is to find a good sheikh who has the correct aqeeda and explains them
If you can't understand Arabic, then I recommend to learn how to read and understand it first bc it will improve and help you alot

    Well said Sajid.
    Well said.
Although I disagree with you on minor things, but this is a very good reminder.
People shouldn't go watch debates before they are well founded.
I think there are 2 primary reasons why people watch debates,
1- They believe they are bound to meet non-Muslims - with how digital social networks are - and they will probably ask about the common doubts about Islam, hence they want to respond in a compelling way that doesn't give bad image about Muslims, that is, Muslims believe things because they make sense(not the physical aspect) rather than just because their parents were Muslims.
2- Debates are entertaining and they are one of the best ways to laze around and lie to yourself that you are actually putting your time to a good use.
Now the second one is an issue but it's not easy to address as it has got to do with the individual himself.
I believe the first one deserves more attention, it was the reason for me to watch some debates.
Debates satisfy the urgent need of feeling unthreatened. Here is a scenario to explain this.
Imagine a person doing any digital social activity or non digital, and then some aggressive non-Muslim recognizes the Muslim person and start asking him in front of others some doubts about Islam that makes it look bad. Now the Muslim probably doesn't have a response to these, and even if he does, it's probably not very compelling. Now the best option is to leave the scene with this bad feeling that 'I have mad Islam look bad because I couldn't respond to these doubts'. Now note that this happened during the usual daily life of the Muslim and he is afraid to have it happen again, so he rushes to research common doubts about Islam with the goal of not making Islam look bad.
And thus as long as there are doubts this individual doesn't have answers for, he feel threatened in his daily life.
In this case, the option of starting from the fundamentals and building the understanding of Islam is not available, not because it's not desired, but because the peace and calmness of this person has been disturbed and he wants to regain balance in the fastest way possible, and in his understanding, that's through debates and the arguments made for Islam in those debates.

The algorithm heavily pushes debates and arguments between Muslims and non Muslims. And another type of islamic content I see being pushed forward heavily is Muslim youtubers commenting on things happening online. But if we are talking about pure quran and hadith.... I see it from accounts that post it but I rarely see the algorithm pushing quran and hadith forward.

  • @IslamicAwareness27
    @IslamicAwareness27 Месяц назад +3

the moment you treat Islam's obvious and intuitive (fitri) foundations like any other theoretical claim and start using propositional arguments that are even less obvious than what you're trying to defend, you've undermined Islam. there are good ways to defend Islam's foundations, what we see in debates is not one of them, even if it has some good in it.

Debates are always interesting and has an emotional level to create drama and entertainment. Instead of becoming a platform of learning new things , going back to al Quran and Sunnah, it becomes a circus show theatrics. Also part of eman is to believe Islam is right why would you want to debate or hear a debate when you know something is right snd the truth, you don’t debate if gravity exist or not or sun rises on east same way you don’t debate Islam is the right religion, it is just redundant.
Sadly many people forget the basics and fundamentals of Islam like Arkan el Iman , Arkan al Islam and word of tawheed.
In the Quran says the stories you listen is to learn from it and not for entertainment.
