About the lack of sleep, Ozzie truck drivers are allowed to drive for 168 hours in a 14 day period. That comes to 12 hours a day. But they're only obliged to take 3 rest periods of 7 hours every 72 hours, so they could actually be on the road for 17 hours a day. Which sounds really safe.
