    Best video yet...and my exact engine. Do you fog the intake/cylinders? If so and if I already drained, can I just turn it over with the safety pulled for a few seconds and just fog that way even though not as good? What about bilge...should I dump some antifreeze and run it or something or no issue if drained good? What about removing impeller (manual says to do that and use vaseline on it)?

    I was taught by a technician at my local boat shop to use RV antifreeze. I think the reasoning is that it will displace or at least dilute any water that might still be in the engine.

    Thanks for the great video. I’ve got a 93 echelon lx and I’m afraid to go without antifreeze but because of your video I’m going to do it.

    Great video, exactly what I was looking for! Just got a 99 response this summer and you break this down very well.

    If the boat has a heater dont forget to drain that too. I put an airline on the water inlet hose and blow m manilfolds through. You can also run antifreeze through it) as youn said, but not really needed, the main advantage of the antifreeze is it reduces rusting inside the cast iron parts

    Nice job. Do you have a transmission cooler that you need to drain?

    This video is incredibly helpful thank you! Just bought a 98 response and I was on the fence about doing it myself but this video cleared things up a lot! 1 question though do you leave the plugs off during the winter or reinstall after draining?

      I usually replace and hook everything back up after just so its ready for the spring. You can leave them out as a quick check if you ever forget if you did it or not tho

    Hey mate! I have a question, is there any water to drain around the trans fluid system of a direct drive? I do not find a plug anode or any hoses connected directly to it. It’s a mastecraft RTP-1 2006. Thank you for making this video.

    Do you fog the engine? I have a 98 Response with a carburetor and people always tell me to fog it.

    Is there a reason why you don't pump any pink fluid through your water lines before you drain

    • @connorduester
      @connorduester  Год назад +1

      There's nothing to freeze if you remove ALL the water from the lines
