Hi Asama. Thanks for the video! Do you know if this definitely works using GPS as some on ebay say they do but really only use GSM triangulation which isn't accurate?
I find the tk102/tk103a or b to be most accurate gps trackers around. The tk definitely do not use triangulation. I got a large property n both tk models were able to tell me which side of the house my vehicles are parked on.
If you have an app like google maps loaded you can use GPS without using data or SMS. So you're right, in theory you wouldn't need a SIM card, but this is not how this device is set to work. It would require different programming and hardware.
Hi Mate, do you have the link to the instructions website, mislaid mine, I have one of these, and the best sim in the UK is the Classic 02 Sim, they are on ebay cheap as chips, mine works great and you only need to send a text to the tracker once every 6 months to keep your 02 sim active
Greg Brown. They will have the same hardware but different software, and so commands and function will be different... I'm not sure what the reply you received means sorry...If you can't figure it I suggest contacting the supplier you got this from. You managed to communicate with the device which is the main thing, so you know it works. Now you have to figure out how to use it...Good luck.
That's LBS information, the reply that the device sends when it isn't getting a GPS signal. You can enter those data into cellidfinder.com/cells/findcell and it puts the device in the Takapuna area of Auckland, New Zealand.
sweet, so its only charged for the txt reply? how do you know if it's getting low on credit? I bought spark 3 & 4g pre paid.I read your spark one didn't work so if you have any more on that to..
snrubyak. On my vodafone app, you can add additional phone numbers, so I check credit for 2 different SIMs on my app. I would imagine you can do the same with the spark app?... I don't know why the spark SIM didn't work. I took it to the spark shop in Palmy and they weren't very helpful. They just said that tracker is from overseas and probably didn't work on a NZ network. I put in my Vodafone SIM and worked straight away...But if you have a spark SIM give that a go first, might work for you.
Oyyy mr male ? Why are you reading instructions? Text code? All this stuff? you were throwing out the instructions!!! Why??? You're such a smart guy !!!
Is it possible to track the vehicleor any other object/subject live? I mean..without a need to keep sending the sms ... i find it kinda impractical and even annoying . would be nice to be able to pair it through the internet with some particular android device, and using some app, to be able to constrnatly see where the object is and where it's going..without sending and reloading anything ... is there such an option in the settings of this particular gps locator? thank you
i think the point of this is that you don't need internet or monthly subscription so it costs very little. at least I think that's the case. That's why it's more cumbersome. But if you keep sending the sms every minute you can get coordinates as you go. Yes it's less practical but also a cheap way to track as a last resort in case of emergency or theft only.
will be getting one of these now my motorbike was ribbed last night and i was only a couple minutes behind them since i heard them outside. after a quick look this morning in the local park i was lucky to find the bine undamaged

Hi, can you tell me if this would work under the petrol tank of a motorcycle or would it shield the antenna and stop it from sending and recieving a signal?
You need to enable gprs mode. Simply send SMS command, "gprs123456" without the quote. If it still does not work with DAGPS, try setting APN name if you haven't done so. So the command would be "apn123456 mobilenet" for example. To disable gprs mode, send "sms123456". Of course 123456 is the default password so replace it with whatever password you set.
Have one of these, was ok but now won't respond, plenty of credit on my sim and lights up when I call it so think it needs a reset but still won't respond
Not sure how to reset sorry. I suggest contacting the supplier. The life of the tracker can be affected by heat and moisture over time, and depending how long you've had it one of the components may no longer be working?
@@asama1984 so does that mean no. i think the battery on my ebike is 36v but it had a light at the front that i took off so there is a connection available. it must be somehow stepped down for that light that used to run at the front. Hello, nice video! Please tell what kind of credit I need to make this unit work. National messages? International messages? Internet access? Pure credit? Does the tracker consume the credit if I am not requesting the location? Please answer, thank you!
+ can't I just put some credit in the SIM Card if my vehicle gets stolen?
Please answer, I want to order a GPS tracker from Aliexpress.
Those were really good questions, too bad nobody answered. However if you now have the answers please share coz I am now in the same position you were 3 yrs back
Hi, good video dude, dose it have a battery backup because the first thing a chop shop would do is disconnect the car battery, thus making it untraceable, I know the more expensive ones do but wondered if these do, cheers
Stuart Pearson. cool. Thanks.
That's a good point. I thought it turns off straight away but according to the supplier website it has 1 to 4 hours battery life.
And just as an idea you could maybe try relay the tracker through a small rechargeable battery?
@@asama1984 Hide a small 12v battery that is also charged from the car .This would in effect give you about 5-7 days .Once the main battery has been disconnected
@@carforumwanker good idea
@@asama1984 ;What would you expect from me ?
@@carforumwanker with a name like that? I'll be honest. I expected nothing but greatness. A true legend of our time.
two out of three lights are flashing on mine...the middle light is on, but the other two are flashing. Nothing I do changes this fact except switching the unit off or disconnecting it. What is the solution to this?
2 out of 3 ain't bad
I have power light on steady and gps light on steady but service light is flashing. Did I get the wrong SIM card? I got the card with data, do I need to add text message to the SIM card plane?
Does the GPS indicate the true latitude & longitude or the coordinates of the nearest GSM relay, pls... ? Thx in adv. Cheers !
It gives you the position of the GPS tracker to within 3 meters
@@asama1984 Merci mon ami !
by accident i programmed a wrong number as the "monitor center number" and now i dont
have communication with the device
is there an option to set the tracker for default settings ??
maybe if you dont know you can forward to someone who does
wow...no reply. That's brilliant.
Great video!
Do you know if the module works with thingsmobile sim?
Unfortunately no
Hi Asama. Thanks for the video! Do you know if this definitely works using GPS as some on ebay say they do but really only use GSM triangulation which isn't accurate?
seems accurate to me. And it doesn't work in a covered location so I'd assume it needs a GPS signal to find your location.
I find the tk102/tk103a or b to be most accurate gps trackers around. The tk definitely do not use triangulation. I got a large property n both tk models were able to tell me which side of the house my vehicles are parked on.
Greetings
I try to install the GPS but I can't, the GSM light always flashes, the blue one is steady.
Can you see the sky?
If you didn't insert a SIM card do you know (or suspect) if it would still work by getting the location from a gps website or app?
If you have an app like google maps loaded you can use GPS without using data or SMS. So you're right, in theory you wouldn't need a SIM card, but this is not how this device is set to work. It would require different programming and hardware.
Hi Mate, do you have the link to the instructions website, mislaid mine, I have one of these, and the best sim in the UK is the Classic 02 Sim, they are on ebay cheap as chips, mine works great and you only need to send a text to the tracker once every 6 months to keep your 02 sim active
Not sure about the manual link. There are a few comments on here with the link if you have time.
Can u turn off ur car in distance if u r not the one who driven it ?
This tracker doesn't have that function
@@asama1984 can u give the name of the trucker that have this function ?
I haven't tested any other tracker.
Does it work with any working sim card, Do we send massage from another sim card?
Not all SIM cards seem to work on it. Best to contact the supplier first. And yes. You send an SMS from your phone to the SIM card in the tracker.
Once you received your vodafone sim, did you simply put it in, power up andwas able to text the number? Or do you have to setup apn etc? Thanks
Motorcycles Brown. No other steps. Just make sure you have credit to SMS.
You can enter those data into cellidfinder.com/cells/findcell and it puts the device in the Takapuna area of Auckland, New Zealand.
i have one but i can't seem to get it working, texting for location , do i text the # to the sim card?
Good Vid, Does the sim need data or can we get away with pre paid with txt??
snrubyab. Thanks. No you don't need data. You just need credit for texting.
sweet, so its only charged for the txt reply? how do you know if it's getting low on credit?
Is GSM in uk and how did you find the message to send to the sim to get the location
A lot of these are now 3g and 4g capable and work with an app. Check with the supplier before you buy one.
Oyyy mr male ? Why are you reading instructions? Text code? All this stuff? you were throwing out the instructions!!! Why??? You're such a smart guy !!!
Turns out I'm not as smart as I thought I was
May i know which AC should i connect to?
please share the data sheet for this device sms command and protocol sheet
Is it possible to track the vehicleor any other object/subject live? I mean..without a need to keep sending the sms ... i find it kinda impractical and even annoying . would be nice to be able to pair it through the internet with some particular android device, and using some app, to be able to constrnatly see where the object is and where it's going..without sending and reloading anything ... is there such an option in the settings of this particular gps locator? thank you
hello friend, this gps tracker can only track location by sending sms, it can't use with app. it don't need internet can also work.
i think the point of this is that you don't need internet or monthly subscription so it costs very little. at least I think that's the case. That's why it's more cumbersome. But if you keep sending the sms every minute you can get coordinates as you go. Yes it's less practical but also a cheap way to track as a last resort in case of emergency or theft only.
I think you can by using www.dyegoo.net website.. but apn needs to be set according to manual. Haven't tested it yet.
Does this fit on a Electric Scooter.
Are the wires compatible with the scooter?
I have a Dualtron Thunder.
A Dualtron Thunder? What a beast.
You need 9V to 12V. Your scooter has 60V. You can try fit a resistor across your circuit.
Asama Thanks 👍 I’m definitely going to need one.
These scooters are quite expensive, a speed that can be reached over 50mph.
I’ll check in Amazon. 👊
will be getting one of these now my motorbike was ribbed last night and i was only a couple minutes behind them since i heard them outside. after a quick look this morning in the local park i was lucky to find the bine undamaged
Thanks very much - very helpful (unlike the awful instructions!)
Hi mate I installed this device a couple of months ago and all of a sulden I can't wiew any historical data. I have loads of money on the sim card and it does show the location! I went out on my motorbike on the 19th two days ago... But it won't show my route.
It may need a reset. Disconnect from the battery and leave it disconnected for 4 hours. If that doesn't work the tracker might be faulty. I suggest contacting your supplier.
@@asama1984 hi thank you. This worked and now historical data is showing. Its weird because the tracking device actually stopped working just as I got within 50 yards of the house while still riding it as its in my motorbike. I could see everything before the 18th June 3:09PM nothing after that period until the 21st when I moved it again for comuting to work. I disconnected device and reconnected and re logged in to Dygoo. Seems to be working OK now. thanks again I have turned to your advice before so I ow you a beer mate... Or a virtual one cheers.
Does this work in a specific range? And what's the feet from above the map? Am in Uganda I wonder if it would still work
It will work anywhere where you have a phone signal and GPS signal.
Do you need credit on the SIM card to be able to track :)
Yes. You need credit for an SMS reply
The gender bit. Pissing myself laughing. Pissing myself laughing 😂 Fucking brilliant
Nice video got the device but it can work with any gsm network?
It doesn't work with all networks. You need to check
Can I power my GPS with direct AC current?
No. It has to DC current
good morning, to receive a location via msm the GPS must be turned on or off
Walter Carneiro the Gps must be on to be able to send the location
Daaaam i wish i had it in my car b 4 got stolen last night......miss my sentra...but the Lexus...no way....got to get me one of this...i get online....good video thanx for the info....
How do I know if my is card is GSM Capable? I just bought it and have activated the card.
Call customer care...lol
hello!
if you leave it on an unused car, how many days does it take it to flatten the battery?
4 days, 12 hours, 6 minutes and 44 seconds.
@@asama1984 so in normal operation, how much power does this tracker actually draw in mAh?
Hi, can you tell me if this would work under the petrol tank of a motorcycle or would it shield the antenna and stop it from sending and recieving a signal?
EdCase. Unfortunately not. GPS signals travel through plastic and glass but not through metallic objects
Damm... Thanks for your fast answer. back to the think tank for me then to find another location on the bike
hey I'd like to know what company does the SIM card usually use for it and how it works
It depends which country you're in. And the mobile network needs 2G network still running.
Do u need data or credit in the sim card inside the tracker before u can do it?
Yes you do my dear friend.
Hi 👍 what about the app dagps? I bought mine from Geek, it works fine with call and sms, but the app keep says that the device is not online?
Not sure. My version did not come with an app. Best to contact your supplier.
@@asama1984 Hmm it's the same one you have 😋 try to use dagps and let me know if it works for you..
@@BaMbOoZeD I think they have different hardware/software. Mine is only 2G capable
@@NguyenQA thank you, kind and gracious friend
Thanks for you video. Can this work anywhere in the world? Can it work of Zion just put in a sim and it getting running
I am sure you can do that my friend

I have no idea my good friend.

@@bibeksingh7773how did you manage to set the IP & port?
Hi I can't connect this GPS tracker I download the apps but in other countries detected as I saw your RUclips video no need apps downloading?
It depends what software your tracker comes with. If your instructions tell you to download an app then do it
Have one of these, was ok but now won't respond, plenty of credit on my sim and lights up when I call it so think it needs a reset but still won't respond
Not sure how to reset sorry. I suggest contacting the supplier. The life of the tracker can be affected by heat and moisture over time, and depending how long you've had it one of the components may no longer be working?
Lycamobile to Lycamobile has no sms charge, so no need to charge the simcard
I was thinking bout doing the exact same thing!
ShottaCodeLean what do you mean ?
I skipped thru a fair bit but didnt see anything on how to install on a bicycle...or do you meana motor bike? i have an ebike
The maximum voltage on this is 12 V
@@asama1984 so does that mean no. i think the battery on my ebike is 36v but it had a light at the front that i took off so there is a connection available. it must be somehow stepped down for that light that used to run at the front. If you know what i mean. Hmmmm wish i could find some info that is a solution for ebike users
@@mcrapattack yeah it must be stepped down somewhere. You can test with a multimeter. You can also use a resistor in the circuit to drop the voltage, so there are some ways around it.
@@asama1984 oh thanks i have no idea what all that means :( wish there was some info that helped non tech folks. I have a volt meter but unless i get step by step instructions i dont know what to do with it. The rest i have no idea
I don't know much about this stuff either, but youtube is full of helpful people. You can search videos on using a meter and voltage step down.
Question. Is there a concern about the tracker draining the battery , if it is wired directly to the battery like you did?
The tracker uses very little current. If don't use your car for about 2 weeks the battery will eventually drain, but if you're driving your car every day that shouldn't be a problem.
"What you do with the manual depends on your gender"
That aged like fine milk.
Probably going to hell for this
