I've been thinking about jumping on PGAW at some point as opposed to GAW, but PGAW is always lower population. Would you say that helps or hurts it?
Population fluctuates, so sometimes PGAW has more people than GAW, but possibly not during your peak hours. PGAW is also a different experience from GAW, so it's worth taking a look even if it's quiet.
Question: black's intensity was improved via pre filtering or afterwards via video editing ?

Your DCS content is incredible! Always a favorite of mine. I just subscribed. Would love to learn how to fly the hog better. I'm starting to build a sim pit based on the hog!
I made some tutorial videos for the HOG on my twitch. If you dig through the Highlights, there should be 4 or 5 videos where I tried to go over everything. In case you were curious.

@ralfidude how do you get the Depth of Field effect in your F2 Cam?
In the main menu Options screen, System tab, there is one option on the left collumn, I believe, if I'm not mistaken. It's one of the last options on the bottom rows.
It's fancy but not exactly practical since it reduces visibility on the scenery. It's great for screenshots, but only for that. And it may also impact framerate performance.

Id really like to get into this game, but im sorta confused on what hardware I should be using for this and where to start. Any tips?
Look at the recommended minimum specs for your PC hardware limits.
32GB of RAM is really what's recommended and a huge problem for most people if you have less.
16GB is absolute minimum.
Then you really only need a HOTAS. MANY videos online about HOTAS, which to buy, what's out there, etc and so forth. Too many to recommend. It's up to your budget.
Track IR is optional but highly recommended.
That's about it.

@@ralfidude Are you using voice through the game or discord? It sounds like you're directly communicating with everyone and I never done that directly through the game. Yes, I know, it's no secret... But I'm new to multiplayer and it looks interesting. Sorry for asking new user questions.
@@eldridgefelder3427 The comms are done through SRS (Simple Radio). Addon program running on the side. PGAW won't let you play without it, and GAW recommends it but doesn't force it.

I'm trying to keep up with the radio slang - are "shaq" and "magic" references to the basketball players? (i.e. hitting right in the basket?)
"Magic" is one of the callsigns that DCS offers for the AWACS. "Shack" I'm not sure where it comes from, but I don't think it comes from basketball...
@ChambersofSiege That's only when you aim for a hillside though.
Shack is when you destroy a ground target, distinct from splash which is when you destroy an air target.

@@44R0Ndin I think it's also shack, but I'm not sure. I think it's still appropriate to use splash instead of shack, but I have never heard someone use shack instead of splash for air.
6:10 This is where you would have wanted a laser MAV. It was locking the road because there was a higher contrast of the road surface to the surrounding sand than the road surface to the tank. The hot desert sun will do that to you.
This is DCS not real life, and unfortunately the way mavs and TGPs lock on to things, are based on other factors than IR signature which isn't really modeled that way in DCS. There will be an update to that system in the future though. So at that point it may be more viable to use laser mavs.
@@ralfidude So, how exactly is it modeled then? I would doubt you would be getting an eronoius lock like that if the road wasn't coded to be targetable in the game, in an attempt to simulate real life.
@@Ivandrov Hit boxes. It kinda comes down to that. Now they may have changed some stuff and they definitely improved upon a ton of things, but it used to be a big problem. HUGE invisible hit boxes used to snap our TGPs and MAVs to ghost images of things that weren't actually there. In this video you saw how it kept snapping to the same spot and then another spot, so I assume the highway has some weird hitbox style thing going on. But don't quote me on that. In anycase DCS does not replicate IR signatures in any meaningful or realistic way. Now AA IR missiles are a slightly diff thing.
