It's a sad thing when "Gerry Anderson" can't afford to play clips from their own programmes. Sigh I understand copyright but it's sad.
Incredibly well sung! Well done!
The four-verse version by "The Kadettes" Fireball XL5 (1982)
Search for "The Kadettes Fireball XL5" it is from 1982 and the B side is "Mission Impossible"
Gosh I miss those days, playing with my XL5 toys while watching the show. 🥰👍👍⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I grew up withis and memorized all of the lyrics. STILL I keep learning .
One of the episodes of "From the Earth to the Moon", "Spider" which covered Grumman's efforts in designing and building the Apollo Lunar Module. But I'll have to watch it again to see how many verses it featured.
I truly hope someone finds that complete version. With tears in my eyes I thank you for posting this!!!!
Amazingly well sung by Jamie Anderson. Never heard the third verse before but I am going to check out the Kadettes version elsewhere on RUclips.
The Kadettes did a version in 1982 which includes that elusive 4th verse. You can find it here on You Tube.
Fireball XL5 was on TV when my family got our first TV set. Venus was one of my first TV "loves" and Steve Zodiak was my hero. Amazingly, as far as I know, Robbie the Robot was the only character from all the Anderson's series that was actually voiced by Gerry Anderson himself. Sylvia Anderson played various characters, including Venus, but Gerry only ever played one.
Hi to all Anderson. The fireball song is on RUclips. It's by the Kadettes 1982.
Until comparatively recently-when I misplaced it -I had a copy of the commercially released "45" with a well-known excellent colour photo of XL5 on the cover theme song on the A side, and I think the B side was entitled "Zero G" a Barry Gray instrumental which was the opening title music; it DIDN'T have the "mystery verse" on it. I must try and find it!
You might like to know that my sisters grandchildren (at the age of 4 and 6) have recently become Thunderbirds fans, and have my large Thunderbirds 1 & 2 (original design) and smaller 2 and 3 (Thunderbirds Are Go design) play with them, and are avidly watching BOTH types of series.......the magic of Gerry Anderson lives on in the 21st Century!
I would sing it when I was a kid, many moons ago. I laughed till I cried when I first heard it on HBO's From the Earth to the Moon. So many memories from my long-lost youth!
Yes, it was lovely and nostalgic to hear it in the "From the Earth to the Moon" documentary
I found it. It's done by the Kadettes, in 1982, and it's on RUclips, on a channel called RavesOFromOTheOGrave. I think you guys are going to love the video - It's on a 45, that plays on a Juke box that looks like it's from the '40s. Good on ya' for having the courage and humor to sing it yourselves, but you still need a little practice to tighten up your vocals with the sax parts. I think you'll like the voice and sound on this recording; it's truly a classic example of that '60s revival of the '80s New Wave, that sounds very Techno-Pop, and still maintains the upbeat feel of the '60s sound. I can't believe the Stray Cats didn't cover this tune, it's so sweet, and joyful, it makes me feel 10 years old again, though it's been half a century - so that's saying a lot. Thanks a lot for what you're doing here, guys, I'm really enjoying your stuff; Keep it up - I'm sure I'm not alone.
Jamie can carry a tune! I must admit that I was surprised that I didn't mind listening to him sing at all.
I think I've got something in my eyes .
Now that's something I NEVER KNEW! Great Fact! #FabFacts
Kudos sir. Kudos.
My cats are going nuts
😂😂😂
Still get goose bumps, even when Jamie is singing 🤓😇
😂😂😂
for some reason over time of not hearing the 4th/final/commercially released verse I turned it into "We've only got a Ford Cortina and won't be going any further than Tesco's or maybe Asda's"
That was lovely Jamie! Well done!
Very well sung 👍 that brought back some memories! I had Fireball on an old 45 record my dad gave me as a young boy of 5 or 6. I can't remember if it had the 3rd verse but it certainly had all the rest. I can't remember if I still have it 🤔
Nice singing dude!
You can hear it in full here: ruclips.net/video/niNQo2faTYY/видео.html, I’ve also got the three verse version on the original TV21 record. Good singing voice Jamie.
Great work! I wish I knew why they cut it from the original Don Spencer release.
It's not available now😢 can you share a new link
Ok. So when is the single coming out? 😈
😂😂😂😂😂
Wow, now that's a fab fact! As Richard says, Jamie's singing makes it worth the price of admission 😀 beautifully sung! "Fireball" is one of my faves, but have gained a new appreciation for it, upon learning of and hearing the extra verses. I have to ask, Jamie - when's the album out? ;)
The Kadettes version does!
HOW they got it, must be a story in and of itself, especially considering we had no idea who the Kadettes themselves were until very recently, and it apparently played on radio for a very brief period.
That singing was very good! It's a great song!
Was the Ricochet version of Flying High the second version of the unused Thunderbirds theme, or did Barry Gray re-write it for the episode?
The version you are refering to is by a group called "The Kaydetts" which was released in 1982 and is available to watch on You tube.😀😀
Well done, enjoyed that and strangely I knew all the words to all the verses. Don't ask me how, must be years since I heard them.
"The Slingsby Hornets" have a version with all four. on YT.
Please don’t tell me I was the only one who though Jamie’s singing was lovely?
The entire Fire ball concept is mine.
I have just seen your recent video [Aug 24 2022] about The Fireball XL5 Theme tune entitled
FAB Facts: The Forgotten Verse to the Closing Titles Song of Fireball XL5. In it you ask for anyone to track down the version with all four verses.
Well I found a video some time ago which contains all the verses of the song. It was posted on Dec 17 2010 and is sung by The Slingsby Hornets and they have a youtube channel Which is Francis E Slingsby, so if you look that site up you will find the video there [Has a picture of Venus as the thumbnail.].
It’s a rather upbeat version which I think sounds real good.
Regards Dave Wilton
if you search her on youtube .. The Kadettes - "Fireball XL5" - 1982, you will find it includes the missing third verse. you're welcome!
More ... More ... More!!! I love that song!!!! Hurry that nasty Amphibian Monster with the Gas Ray Gun maybe coming this way!!!!
Can I take the ear plugs out yet? I also need a good medical lawyer... :P
😂😂😂
Four verse song sung by "The Kadetts"
I love singing this song...
I'm sure Don Spencer mistakenly sang Conkers of the sky
I heard once it was …condors …of the sky…Marmaduke.
Not bad at all, Jamie. You should have been a singer.
I have the original 45 single!
If you don’t know the full version word for word, you just don’t know the full full version lol. I wore out my single lol. Best tune ever 👍
Found the youtube video for the full version mentioned. Released in 1982 by a group called the Kadettes: ruclips.net/video/ByVlakD0NrE/видео.html
This is fun.
The Kaddettes sung it. find on youtube
Nice sentiments - if a little astronomically dubious!
😎
I can't help mixing lyrics up, so in my head the chorus is "Like a Fireball, I'll come bouncing back to you". Which makes no sense at all.
ARRRRRRGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My ears My ears AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just joking you did well HONIST YEW DID!
Perhaps a rolling text rather than audio torture ?
