I've had Eine Kleine Nachtmusik on vinyl since '86. This is the first time I've seen decent live footage from that '85 tour. Awesome. "Lay down your soul to the Gods Rock and Roll!"
LOVING VENOM! I'm 46. When I was 15 a mate of a mate had Venom LP's, I believed in Heaven and Hell back then and was too shit scared to expose myself to this. Man I missed out big time, cool as. I have to say of all the catching up I've done Cronos seems to be the man :)
yeah iam 48, same story with me, some mate of mine gave me on tape black metal, and was to scared of this style, but 30 years later still listening to Venom..
Second song in Black Metal, probably their best known songs. Soon as Cronos screams Lay down your souls for rock n roll…..breaks his string and keeps rocking. Not the little string folks the biggest one. I’ve played bass guitar since 1985. Mostly death and Thrash Metal I play hard and fast and never ever broke that big string lol….LAY DOWN YOUR SOULS FOR ROCK N ROLLLLLLL!!!!
Cronos starts bleeding during welcome to hell Fucking awesome..i wonder how the bleeding started...it looks like its coming from his neck..maby his dog color was 2 tight..lol
Just our of curiosity where did you read about this? I have often wondered if there was a drum machine involved with "Calm before the storm"....................but only on two tracks that clearly sound like a drum machines in places, the song "Metal Punk" and "Gypsy" sounds like a drum machine. The rest of the album does not, there are even familiar elements to Abaddons style throughout the album which suggest it's him playing. The kick sounds natural and like Abaddon on say "Krackin Up" but on "Metal Punk" it's like a machine gun and also on "Gypsy". Abaddon sounds fine playing on the Tony D era stuff as well so I guess at times he can play a bit. So yeah if you could verify that info about the drum machine that would be cool and lay my speculation to rest, thanks.
BACK IN 1984 @HOLLYWOOD PALADIUM CA.......THE ULTIMATE REVENGE.....1ST TIME SEEING A VERY YOUNG EXODUS, SLAYER & VENOM .....AFTER THAT.......TICKETS WERE SOLD OUT EVERYWUERE WHEN VENOM PLAYED.....!!!
I was at the those shows. One in Pomona and one in Hollywood. I just remember everyone screaming Slayer while Venom was playing after Cronos was saying some dumb stuff about America not being Black Metal country
Cronos was the best bass player in the history of Music. Mantas was a very good guitar player. It's because Abaddon was a terrible drummer is the only reason why people criticize Venom's Music abilities. They were 10 times Heavier than Slayer, and 100 times better musicians, and to this day the most Evil band in history
Cronos the best bass player.?? i think even Cronos would not agree. He's good /ok but come on , you have Geezer Butler, Jack Bruce , John Entwistle, J.P Jones ect ahead of him. i dont know about heavier than Slayer either. and Merciful fate ,Mayhem ,Abruptum took the evil far more serious among others .but its cool.....
One of my all time favourite bands, together with VoiVod, Celtic Frost, Possessed, Exodus, Forbidden

Awesome.
"Lay down your soul to the Gods Rock and Roll!"
Mate it was released as a video back in the day as "Alive in 85"...still got the vhs! Now released on dvd too.
This was & still is metal's finest hour!

This just kicks ass. Just some good old fashioned metal, that had to be fun as fuck to be there.
This home video was called alive in 85 whene it first came out in 1985
I've watched this 50 times since I found it
they influenced so many bands... hail Venom \m/
Motorhead was first

I notice that too, but i thought it comes from the devil !
I’m guessing it’s from the inside of his collar cutting his neck
I cannot imagine how it was, being at a Venom show around those days...Slightly to young and not british ; )
I saw them a few times in 85-86.
They were really kinda shitty live, especially when they had to follow Slayer.
@@pauliescott I read about bad gigs with Slayer in those days indeed. But the 7th date vhs gig and Alive in 85 gig i would have loved to see though 😬
Nightmare, one of my favorites.
Cronos' "solo": Totally Spinal Tap moment!
+GOOTENAGEN Abaddon has been one of the sloppiest drummers of metal, he did it very well in Calm Before The Storm though
It was revealed some time ago that they used a drum machine for much of Calm!

Para 1985 esto era de la puta madre...
Respect the old line-up, but too much squeal in the guitar sound and not enough ROAR. Sorry. Amusing overall, though.
AND totally out of sync w each other.
sounds like myself on drums.
Elizabeth Hurley I hope that's good I'm big time neil Peart.but love metal also
Cronos broke a string on Black Metal.
He did??? Must watch again!
Correct. He broke the A string. Quite awkward as it is VERY VITAL. G or even D string you could do without for the remainder of the song.
@@tombelanovic7686 And he's got another bass from ''Nightmare'' song.
Motorhead invented Death Metal, but Venom took it in the Satanic direction, but they were influenced by the first real Black Metal band Witchfynde
Neither are death metal but go on.
Where do they get their lack of ideas from?
Maybe just looking at you.
