THANK YOU, VERY MUCH, ETHAN!!! I APPRECIATE THESE PRRODUCT SELECTION BUYER'S GUIDE, COMPARISON/CONTRAST VIDEOS!!!!!! I CURRENTLY ONLY HAVE THE "DX6e", BUT, I'D LIKE TO UPGRADE, TO HAVE A FEW MORE "CHANNELS", BUT, WITHOUT GETTING OVERLY COMPLICATED!!!.. MUCH APPRECIATED!!!
Great vid thanks. What is the difference between the NX8 and the NX8+....Looking through website NX8+ has 20 channels instead of 8???? So it's equivalent to a NX20 without the extra switches on the radio? That is I could use up to a 20 channel rx in my plane? Is that correct? My DX9 is limited to only 9 channels and I'm looking to upgrade.
My first exposure to the RC airplane hobby was in the early 1970's. The premier brand back then was Kraft, and a 4-channel "digital proportional" radio / rcvr + 4 servos would set you back about $350. In today's dollars, that's about $2,500. So looking at the Spektrum lineup kind'a blows me away when I think about how the technology has evolved and how much more capability you can get for the money. Well done gentlemen!
Hello Gentleman, I have a Spektrum iX14 and somehow the Spektrum icon is disappearing on my transmitter! I can't even get into the Airplane screen? would you please help me? Thanks!
I have an iX20 that I purchased back in 2020. I've been flying large scale helicopters and medium sized 3D style helis with it and it's been a rock solid radio. Hopefully it will continue to be a problem free radio for years to come because I have no desire to even consider any other radio at this time.
I own the DXS. Is it possible to use the Panic button in Safe mode to go to the AS3X? As soon as you let go of it you are back in Save mode. Actually like it is or work in RF Evolution
hey, could u do a video series, to diferent recevers and fbl resevers, what they can do and forwhat they are/diferencec, and for what the numbers and lethers from different series mean?
Question = I have a DX6 Rugged and I’m trying to bind to my ax24 with the Furitek mini Komodo is there a trick to it ? The stock receiver blinks fast but doesn’t connect to the transmitter 😊
Great video...... I own both the Spektrum Nx20 and the Ix20se, I bought the Nx20 first and put both my helicopters and planes on it, but it's a pain in the arse, switching from planes to helicopters and from helicopters to planes because I have to change the throttle stick settings from ratchet to smooth when I switch from planes to helicopters and from smooth to ratchet when I switch from helicopters to plane, so I ended purchasing the Ix20se so I can put all planes in one and all helicopters on the other... the question I have is , out of the two transmitters I now have, which one do you suggest to use for helicopters, and which one do you suggest to use for planes, and I'm not asking as which one to use if I didn't have either one because I own both, so my question is from the position of already owning both and just don't know which one I should use for strictly all my planes and which one to use strictly for my helicopters, so in not have to switch the throttle stick each time I change from either or...... I hope you understand my question, and I'm only asking because I'm coming from using the Futuba T32MZ ecosystem to Spektrum. My Futuba T32MZ spent more time in the repair shop than with me flying, nit too mention I've lost 5 jets and 3 Align t-rex helicopters..... so I'm done with Futuba....... please advise..... thanks
I own an iX20SE. Last December, after landing my Freewing F-18 90mm Blue Angels on its maiden flight, the right gimbal stopped working. Neither the elevator nor the aileron channels were functional. I sent it in for repairs, and HH replaced the faulty gimbal free of charge. Five months later, my radio failed again, this time losing total connection with my aircraft. I lost two expensive jets due to this radio issue. When I lost the second jet, I realized that the problem was with the radio. I sent it back, and this time HH replaced the radio's RF module, which was defective. All this happened to my fancy top-of-the-line Spektrum iX20SE... 🤦🏾♂️ I love the radio, but I've lost trust in it. I ended up buying an iX14 while my iX20SE was still being repaired. I now have both radios, but I am only using my iX14 for now. I am going to sell my iX20SE because I do not trust it anymore.
I’m so sorry to hear about your experience. I love your vids. Being newer to the hobby I’ve quickly learned that escaping the brand is the best way right now to avoid those issues. The big brand is great at servicing though and I commend them. But it’s like the first time someone buys a BMW and realizes long after it’s paid for that the Toyota they got for half the price is gonna outlast the Beamer by a landslide.
@Hype_RC Your comment is 100% on the spot😁👍🏾 On a positive note, I'm grateful that HH didn't charge me anything for both repairs. They repaired my radio twice, and they did it under warranty. That was great on their part... The sad part is the loss of my two beautiful and expensive jets ... Nobody will ever offer compensation for them when something like this happens... Have a great Memorial day 😁 Greetings from Douglas, Arizona 🌵 👍🏾 😁 🇵🇷
The Good ol FAA has no say in how your vehicle is controlled....other than....400 feet high....and in line of sight....unless your a commercial pilot with the FAA lisencing paperwork...so go fly your plane park flier...or whatever...
Marketing radios by number of channels is a bit low. It’s all just software! And it’s all the same over-the-air protocol, which supports the same amount of channels! Same with marketing by number of models. Flash storage is dirt-cheap nowadays. We could probably have thousands of models stored.
Kinda crazy that you need to step up to the 8 channel to get voice alerts too. Some competitors offer that on $65 radios. Wifi connectivity on the NX8 is a nice touch for updates but I don't understand why I would need to "register" a radio before I can update the firmware.
I fly Radiomaster Tx16s, I can’t believe people STILL fly on Spektrum. I upgraded from the NX 10 and will never look at Spektrum again. ELRS all the way. Range is unparalleled, 2w tx modules available in 2.4g and 915mhz. Not to mention the receivers are 1/4 the price of Spektrum. Spektrum is a mistake that most beginners make. Myself included.
The iX20 (perhaps the NX20 to) is the only one which has the capability to control separately more than one motor in the aircraft type menu. All other radios need a mixer to do that.
$300 extra for aluminum gimbals and a foam case 😆 not worth it unless like you mentioned you just got them separately. I use a $20 pelican style case from harbor freight for my nx10 and it’s half the size and way more durable
But still the telemetry sucks due all wonderful “old” sensors disappeared like air speed …. Also a lot of the offered sensors in the telemetry open protocol is not implemented in the firmware of the transmitters like gasoline fuel consumption, multi temperature…. Even in the DX/NX Series are more implemented, even if hidden. Guys hurry up to be not lost against your competition!!!
20 channels is not enough, I'm needing a minimum of 26 and probably more like 32 by the time I'm finished, are there plans for better radios? My project will take around 8 months so I can wait, also telemetry should be at the top of the radio and separate to the main screen, is this something you will be doing? Thank you for the explanation. The only other option I have really, is the Graupner 32 mz, or the Jetti elite but no one sells that in the UK and Futaba uses Windows CE as it's OS and any company that chooses a windows OS over a *nix OS clearly hasn't got a clue when it comes to embedded OS"s at least you chose to go with Android, which keeps you in the running in my mind for a future Setup. Thanks again for a great explanation Cheers James

Looking for an answer here too
The nx8 can be updated to nx8+, and the 20ch. The 8+ replaced the 8, it and comes with the update out of the box.

Great Job Ethan. you touched on some things I didn't know about the SE Editions Thanx
Do these transmitters work with different brands of receivers?....im a noob
Can the NX and iX transmitters be powered by a pc if using on RealFlight Evo? Can they run on regular disposable batteries instead of lipos? Thanks!
What happened to the NX6?
Discontinued
I own the DXS.

What about the FFA and there new law that affects the hobby ???????
Doesnt change anything for me
No one is complying. Period.
What about it go fly your plane

Legacy radio 😅
Just made up hype to promote overpriced radios.
The Dx line works great for all your flying needs. Buy used and get them at acceptable prices.
I’m sure I’ll be happy with my NX8 for years and save up for a IX100 or ZX1000 years from now…
There is no choice between the NX7 and NX8. NX7e is absolute junk, really Horizon, WHY??
Price I would guess
