It's not that simple, there is a problem with trim path when I use it on an icon it keeps filling the spaces that should be transparent with white. Any solution

Hey,
I use brush in illustrator. Then when i import the file to after effects, it's always converted to outline stroke. After that I face the fill issue and the lines are never properly revealed
I've faced the same issue, have you found any solution to it?
I would like to know how to import icon templates from illustrator to after effects, without pixelating them, I have this problem that when I import them, the strokes are pixelated.

great tutorial, when i do this on non black backgound my 'shapes' appear to be filled with black? any thots? they are only strokes in Illustrator no fill color
Make sure your design is in "Stroke" but not in "Outline Stroke" Its appearing because of outline stroke. If you want to know, How to find it, then select the design and check its stroke size, If only stroke size is appearing then this should work, If fill color or Fill & stroke is appearing then black or grey background will appear while trimming. hey, i'm still having problems. Maybe someone can help me? The illustrator icon I need to use is a path, not a stroke.
When I bring it to AE and transform it to a shape layer and add trim path it's not working properly, it's adding a fill.
If I add a stroke to that shape layer and then turn off the fill of each group it's working better but i'm getting like a double stroke.
What exactly should I do in illustrator to make this work? THANKS A LOT!

@@chiribimchiribim Hi, hopefully this isn't too late for you. When you're in Adobe Illustrator, make sure that the fill colour of any shape you draw is transparent (the box will have a red line through it), and only the stroke has a fill colour. If you go to 0:25 in the video and look at the top left hand corner of the screen, you will be able to see how the fill box is transparent and the stroke box is white. Once you import this into AE, create shapes from vector layer and add trim paths you should be good to go - tested it myself.
