They sure did...they scared the living daylights out of the Germans and they helped save the last of the British Airborne as well, not enough is ever mentioned about the bravery of the Polish Airborne during the battle of Arnhem but as time passes that recognition is becoming a reality.
IamK I went to Arnhem this year for the commemoration ceremony's, this year was the Polish turn, several Polish Arnhem veterans attended, along with a detachment from the current Polish airborne & the Polish ambassador, it poured with rain but the attendance was huge, definitely going next year for the 75th Anniversary.
My father took part in the D Day landings, the Market Garden battles and freed the people held in Bergen Belsen. Maybe your family didn't get their chance because they were victims of the war
Is that it? My great grandfather went down the pub, had a beer, got drunk, signed up to the army and found himself somewhere in Germany some years later.
My grandfather was flying im his spitfire one day in 1944 when i got attacket by an german stuka, his spitfire catched fire, he jumped out, shot the pilot and his gunner with his revolver, landed on one of the wings, climbed into the pilot sead, destroying 3 tiger tanks and 4 panzer IV tanks with some Random placed bombs, then he jumped out of the stuka. And found a german stg44 in a busch, sneekd in behind the german lines and killed a whole devision, later he saw 1 tiger tank in the bush, stole a sherman tank and totaly obliriated the tiger , total tanks:9 and infantery: 1200
@se ss sorry bud but you can down a plane with a pistol an American pilot shot down a Japanese zero with his 1911 he bailed out of his bomber and saw the zero killing his men, he faked being dead and the Japanese pilot opened his canopy to check if they were dead, he wasn't so he took out his 1911 and shot all 7 bullets. right after the zero took a nose dive and crashed. another ww2 story maybe? I think so since you decided to be a dick two US troopers were stuck outside an occupied town one of them , who earned a medal, decided to trick the germans into thinking the town was being assaulted , he used machine guns and grenades and when street to street throwing grenades and shooting germans. When he finished the town was cleared and allowed a US force to move in a few hours later. these are very much true stories so next time you disrespect someone make sure history doesn't surprise you after

more dutch in the german SS than died fighting of the invasion
There were 54 English men in the SS, I know because I've done some research

Some collaberation ?? More like 80%
Bullshit,,,they hid 300.000 people in the war that number alone makes your statement idiotic
There were never more than 50.000 NSB members, not all if which were collaborating either.
