  • A large Northern Blacksnake has been eating some eggs in our henhouse. We like having snakes on our farm, because they eat mice and rodents. This one will eat a few eggs now and then. This is the second snake I've seen today. I saw one in the garden this morning. That is where I really like to see them, because they eat mice and voles which damage our vegetables and melons.

Ram Z, I wish I could send you one, but I doubt FedX would take care of it. They definitely eat the rats and mice. I have seen them in action. I am going to do a 2022 watermelon patch video soon, but I will give you a preview here: My seed store told me when they would have the plants, and then they never got them from their supplier. I ended up starting my own plants from seed. They're in, and doing fine, but harvest will be later than usual.

@@JimODonnellFarm Thanks for the reply Jim! I guess I'm going to have to find some garden snakes for these sneaky rats that I got roaming around. I actually copied your style of watermelon patch. but used a vigoro version of weed fabric which didn't last that long and shredded. Out of 5 plants I can see through the vines that I have atleast 4-6 watermelons. Anyways, can't wait to see your 2022 watermelon patch videos!

@@ramz1455 I hope your watermelons turn out great. Thanks for telling me about the performance of that fabric.
