- World's First Dueling SAUCER water slide at Adventure Island Tampa Bay!
Take a ride on the new Rapids Racer water slide at Adventure Island in Tampa, Florida! Rapids Racer is an inner tube slide with two lanes which are connected by several RallyPOINT sections where riders on both lanes can see eachother. The attraction is fitted with a total of four FlyingSAUCERs which are high-speed features with a compounded curve outer wall and a flat plate in the center. Furthermore, the ride features the first installation of the Dueling SAUCER. We thought that one was pretty pointless since guests in the outer curve are unable to even recognize the feature as it is not elevated at all. It just feels like a normal curve on the outer slide and like a classic FlyingSAUCER on the inner lane. Other than that, Rapids Racer is a solid racer water slide with a decent length.

Looks great, although I'll miss Runaway Rapids, but at least they kept the hill it sat on.
I am going back there this fall for the first time in almost 20 years. Can't wait.

In den Kurven hätten sich Glaselemente ja mal hervorragend angeboten....--> schade, dass Proslide in optischer Hinsicht immer so inkompetent ist.
So ist der Duell Charakter wirklich eteas witzlos.

during the turns it looks like on of them has a circle tube thing attatched to it. I dont get why thats there. do yuo ride on it or is it just there for looks
Those are FlyingSaucer elements (plus one DuelingSaucer). The turns are pretty steep and tight but the „plates“ are mostly for the looks indeed.
