Kurt's death left a haunted void in 1994. Alt-rock continued on; it was somewhat spotty but a lot of it was still powerful for me regardless for at least 4 more years. K-Rock in New York was my station, and I definitely enjoyed this song tremendous despite knowing nothing else about the band to this very day. To me, it was 2 years and 8 months to be exact. 1996 was the last great year for alternative especially, but music in general. You still heard the occasional good song after that but they were few and far between.
