STORYLINE:
Spectators at the Paris Olympic opening ceremony have left early due to heavy rain.
The activities which are taking place along the Seine which runs through the French capital were hampered by torrential rain throughout the evening.
Others said they still enjoyed the spectacle despite the downpour.
"I loved the experience anyway, I came I went to see it and I have a great experience, besides the rain," said Ildi Silva, who was visiting from the USA.
