you are right, in high school, I went from 24" to 28" doing 6 weeks of Air Alert and no plyometrics after that again. I played football, so front squat, single leg split squats w/dumbbells, deadlift, power cleans, hang cleans, and hooping in the summers got it from 28" to 36" one step, 39" maximal, over 2 years while growing from 165lbs to 242lbs over 10th to 12th grade. I only trained for football, not basketball. It was my first love, but not what I was great at, only "decent" lol. the increased vertical and ability to dunk, especially at my senior playing weight of 240 despite being 5'11 1/2 was specifically because of genetics and olympic lifting as a result of our football strength coach. I do agree with your point that plyometric programs in the traditional sense don't offer much benefit after a certain time period of prioritizing them.
2 questions 1 how do you warm up without cutting down your peak vertical? 2 how many days should you recover between lifting days and max effort jump days? Should you wait a day or 2 or until you aren’t sore anymore? Thanks!
Sore mean you need better warmup rutine, recovery routine, better lifestyle in general, you dont know your own body yet, you need to understand your body. Listen to your body. Hope thats help.
What do you do during the winter time for max jumps sessions because I live in New York and it snows a lot during winter which doesn’t allow me to go outside to jump?? @RiqB
For a beginner should I do plyos on a separate day from strength training, together or separate them into two sessions on the same day thank you in advance
lets keep it simple bro..none of us will be going to the olympics...heavy lift will lead to HERNIATED discs, back pain that will never go away...light weigh, simple plyos....thats the KEY
That's not true at all. If you're lifting smart, with proper form and you're not spiking your workload then heavy lifting is safe and essential for becoming a better athlete. Light weight and "simple" plyos wont be enough to improve for elite athletes
Stop being scared. Lift heavy and get strong. Thats like saying stop playing basketball cus ur not in the nba. Aint got nothing to do with the going to the olympics
Maaaann underrated videos I’m telling you. Great work bro knowledge is on point.
My guy! I always appreciate your feedback bro. I'm keeping up with your content too🙏🏽

what an absurd bodyindex you have...
pylos were crucial in getting me my first dunk since high school! I’m 30 btw, 100% effort pylometrics are the way to go
For sure!
Watchu do
And how tall r u
Ive been waiting for an upload. W video 👍
Appreciate you my guy👊🏽
@@RiqB 👊

man i like your videos ,your not ugly and only if you not a beginer athlete you dont to do a lot of plyos but if your a beginer you have to
I appreciate you and I was just messing around with all that😂

Honestly all I've ever done is strength training and jump practice and I've seen lots of improvement. Maybe I should start doing some plyos
Can you make a vid on a what a full week of lifting / pylo looks likw
Yes sir !
I don't have access to the gym I'm 5'7 and can touch the rim I have a 33 inch vertical will you make a video on bodyweight training for vertical jump
I don't have access to the weights should I do single leg seated jump or pistol squat Which is more effective for vertical jump
Hello, I don't know much English but using a translator I want to ask you, how many months does it take for the body to adapt to plyometrics?
interesting, would doing max approach jump as a beginner also be more effective than plyometrics?
what you do in your rest day, dude? can you make a video about it, I really want to know how you rest day
Just live life

In jump days do you prefer doing it like a set and rep range or about certain period of time for sets also mention your time or sets whatever
I said in the vid but I just keep jumping until I feel my vertical starting to get lower. I have 2-3 mins of rest in between each jump
One more question should I wait until I have absolutely no pain before leaving iso type workouts to get into actual vertical training?
As far as i know 3/10 pain is allowed
For a beginner should I do plyos on a separate day from strength training, together or separate them into two sessions on the same day thank you in advance
seperate days you want to give the plyos max effort
do you actually hoop or is it just really vert training and dunking?
I hoop every now and then but im focused on vert training rn
What about weighted plyos
Weighted plyos are a good progression from bodyweight plyos. But theres nothing better than performing max approach jumps
