- Growing and Evaluating two breeds of meat chickens; ROSS 308 and COBB 500 for 40 days (6 weeks) on my modern EC chicken farm. Determining the weight gained in Kg from baby chicks to 6 weeks meat chickens; in each breed of broiler chickens (ROSS 308 and COBB 500) and also the total number of dead chickens taken out were the aim of this study for 40 days (6 weeks). Broilers or Meat Chickens were raised in an environment control (EC) Chicken Farm .
Nice clean birds. Healthy , well cared for . Good ventilation and very high welfare!.. 😊

Great job
Thank you very much
Ross 308 is better than the rest I believe just my own opinion
Wow I really like your videos, I will like to take some classes with you 😀
thank so much for sharing ur experience can cobb 500 be raise beyond 12 weeks
If your are birds are breeders yes and if not why try to keep them that long?.
I got similar results from my research. The only thing I will suggest to you is to be aggressive with Coccidiosis treatment for Cobb. You have to start treating Coccidiosis from as early as day 4 for Cobb. Don't wait got symptoms. That's the only way to reduce their mortality.
I agree with you. I had a great 2nd study batch with my 35000 COBB and 35000 ROSS. They were more than 3Kg and I lost approximately 500 in every barn. I used a more integrated approach and was able to correct most of the issues with my 17000 COBB trial.
really interesting, I love this...
Where are you practicing at the moment?
Beautiful Chickens. Please what scale do you use for your stocking density?
I have got electronic scales in all my barns. Birds step on it regularly and their weights are recorded on the computer and the computer displays the averages daily. I also, have a small hand-electronic scale used to cross check.
Please how many times do you change your wood shavens in 6weeks
After every batch(6weeks) I change the wood shavings before placing new chicks.
Wow!!!!!!!! How do you do it ?.. Wow! So from day 0 till day 42, you use the same wood shavings... Won't it get contaminated or how do you control the ammonia building up... ? I am wowed!
The ventilation system takes care of the ammonia, I also ensure that there's relatively moderate humidity within the barns.
Wow... So if there is good ventilation. It can manage the woodshaven for that long... Wow thank you sir for this wisdom
Kudos to you Inspiring farm for sharing knowledge. Please share the maker of your electronic scale with us and possibly the purchase contact. Thanks
In as much as I would have loved to share all information, the fraudulent use of the Internet has made sharing sensitive info problematic. Aside the fact that there're a lot of data protection laws these days, I wouldn't want any sad stories associated with me.
Beside being cautious ⚠️ I always advice that farmers find a local dealer(marketers or importers)in their areas. That way you see who you are doing business with. On the other hand, if a farmer is big enough and ready to expand, they can travel themselves, purchase their equipment, and arrange them for shipment.
@@InspiringModernAgriculture Thanks. Inspiring farm, there are lots of sense in your message
I raise Cobb, your mortality is high because your pen is overstocked. The mortality you experienced is primarily stampeding. They get weighty easily, when they fall on their backs, they need to be turned over by a staff. With the high population they get stampeded before they receive help.
Also sorting at hatchery, check to ensure that their navel is healed. You'll lose a lot of birds in the first 3days if sorting is not properly done for Cobb 500.
Unhealed navel will burst open in 3days leading to high mortality. If you have 500unhealed navel from the hatchery. I guarantee you. The 500 will all die in 3-4days
Thanks for the video, it was enlightening, I was actually in-between Cobb or Ross
@@pst.adeotunadeyemi4312 What stocking density do you use for Cobb 500? And what mortality rates do you record at 6 weeks with that stocking density?
Thanks for the video. Please what do you use to disinfect the water lines
I prepare a disinfection solution with hydrocare.
Did they eat the same amount of feeds
The difference in feed consumption was less than 1 ton.
stop the background music so we can hear you more clearly
Thanks alot.where do you get the chicks
From PTINEK Ltd. Unfortunately, they only schedule chicks supply programs with large farms that raise chickens all year round. So, after every two months, they know my farm needs 70000. So, they stock the incubators to match that order.
Usually, it's best for a small farmer to finder a reputable supplier in his/her local area to reduce importation cost.
Under good management, there should be no major difference.
Background music is too loud, we can hardly hear you.
Alright, noted.
@@InspiringModernAgricultureu don’t have to play any music at the background ok
Please I need contact for purchase of intra hydrocare.
contact: info@intracare.nl to see if they have sale points in your country. Hope it helps!
