Great Review. I hope Honda adds vented front seats and rear console mounted a/c vents. This design appeals to me much more than the busy exterior of the previous generation.
Just watched your Toyota Prius review and can’t help but notice you get way better MPG (obviously) a little faster, better tech, a hatch, and better features for a lower price trim for trim! I do like the look of this Civic hatch better, but the look of the new Prius is also really nice!
Love the new exhaust, not a fan of the look without the roof spoiler. it feels bland. and idk, the fake ports were useless but the black accents really elevated the looks imo
I have seen videos of the Sport Touring Hatchback, probably Japan, with a nice hatchback rear spoiler, nice but not overdone. I believe that part of the several OEM accessories available to the Japan market that may later be available to the US, or via independent vendors.
@@emmanuelharris187 If it is different from the sedan one. I just haven't chrcked or seen the specific hatchback add-ons. I only saw a post about Japan only accessories for the hatchback, but they may have been made avsilable under HPD accessories now.
@@jjacob25101 yes it’s an actual wing it’s not a mod or anything it’s straight from Honda. Most reviews just don’t use it. If you build your 2022 it’s on there as an add on. It’s in the US there’s a guy on RUclips that’s in the states that got one show room. It’s nice Ima add it to mines before I pick it up.
@@emmanuelharris187 Yrs. It does look nice. I guess certain dealerships will have some configured like that, especially the Sport/Sport Touring. I would definitely want that if I got the Hatchback.
I’m surprised the hatchback doesn’t outsell the sedan. Its so much more functional and closer to the utility of a crossover which in the states is more popular. Love this gen civic though
Great review and excellent depiction of the Boost Blue in direct sunlight. Been torn between Rallye Red or Boost Blue and believe this confirms my decision of Boost Blue with the 2.0 & 6MT.
I just bought one. Due to the chip shortage, there are VERY FEW cars available. I was lucky that my dealer could find me one in white. I'd prefer in mauve (purple), blue, or red, but who knows when more cars will be manufactured?
Great review. This vehicle is similar to the Touring Sedan, plus the 6 speed manual option. You're the first I got to view with the driving impression specifically for the Sport Touring Hatchback. My two main questions: 1. It the suspicions tuning stiffer/more performance oriented than the Sport/Touring Sedan? I expect the Si to be performance tuned, but it seemed to hint from early previews that the Sport Touring Hatchback was going to be slightly more performance oriented. 2. I imagine with 12 speakers on the Bose System, there are 2 tweeters in the A pillars, a center point speaker on the dashboard top behind/forward of the infotainment screen, 2 tweeters and 2 woofers in the rear doors, and on the rear deck in the Touring Sedan, the rear center point speaker, and 2 subwoofers, since I did not see the side mounted subwoofer in the trunk of sny videos for the Touring Sedan. So, I wonder where the rear center point speaker and 2 subwoofers are located fir the Sport Touring Hatchback.
@hon solo Yes, thank you. I finally saw a video of the Sport Touring Hatchback that showed the subwoofer in the right side of the hatch area. The rear center point speaker msy be ceiling mounted forward of the rear window. I knew in the sedan, that the Sport and Touring trims had the sport tuned suspension that the LX and EX didn't. Likewise for the Sport and Sport Touring hatchbacks, as opposed to the the LX and EX-L. The Topher was the first one with a video I saw that mentioned what I suspected, a slight performance upgrade on the rear suspension of the Sport/Sport Touring Hatchback, with a slightly larger/stiffer rear sway bar and 8% stiffer rear springs that he stated most would not feel the difference in handling. As usual, the Si has the model specific engine, gearbox LSD, suspension tuning, snd Si seats, trim and badging.
My only gripe is that Honda should've include power lift gate and memory seats on the higher trims. Overall, love the fastback look on this generation.
Great review, guys. Love the refreshed styling, especially the sport back look. The rear reminds me of the Stinger. Will be very difficult to find new inventory available.
It’s nice indeed, but won’t Honda dealers mark this up due to chip shortages? I’d trade my accord 2.0t for the savings in my fuel economy and monthly payments lol. I’d loose a lot of power though but I do want a smaller ride. Plus this thing has good looks all around, while my accord has weird looking taillights and still not liking the front dark chrome strip after 3 years. It’s very difficult to clean that from dirt bugs etc 😣
Took it to test drive. Of course it’s not 2.0 turbo. But power is adequate for city. Really comfortable and feels premium inside especially with black headliners. Looking for 2.0 n/a engine instead of 1.5 turbo. Also it’s 5 k cheaper then touring. No moonroof which I never use and leather seats which crack and looks terrible with time. If you change it within 5 years no problem but you will pay extra 5 k.
Looks more like a Sportback to me which is a disappointment. Hopefully the Si is more sportier than the hatch/sedan. With that said, I'd still go for the hatchback compared to the sedan.
Are you sure there is a gray trim option for the interior of the Hatchback? I've only seen that in the Civic Sedan. I would love to have an alternative to just black.
@@CarConfections After I looked it up, you can order a gray interior with 2 colors, Meteorite Gray Metallic and Platinum White Pearl on the Hatchback. Thanks for replying.
2 days ago I bought a 2023 Honda civic hatchback sport with Boost blue pearl for $29,250 OTD and no bs markups. Did I get a good deal or could I had fight the price a little more?
Bro these days you can’t really haggle over price with dealerships for new cars, maybe on a used one… but sounds like you did pretty good. What’s your monthly payment and interest rate if you don’t mind me asking?
Hello Car Confections friends, please I want to buy a brand new 2022 Civic and I am really struggling between the more powerful Si and the more confortable (and more features) Hatchback Sport Touring, compared to the Si I’m afraid that the hatchback would be not powerful enough, please I’m requesting a little help here, would you sacrifice the amenities for a more powerful car (Si) or the Hatch is powerful enough ?, thank you in advance 🙏
While the Sun does feel more powerful, because it is, the power difference is not all that substantial. Personally, I enjoy the design of the hatchback and the additional amenities, so that would be my choice
@@CarConfections Thank you for your prompt response, my main concern is the power of both cars, according to your experience is not that noticeable then… That helps, thank you 🙏
Why did they downgrade the digital dash display from the 10th gen? The second iteration all had digital dashes but now only the touring has a complete digital dash
Very thorough review ! I like it a lot , but I would choose the manual shift 6 speed transmission . Is this the same engine ( horsepower) and sport tuned suspension as the SI ?
Great review of a terrific car! Used to live in Austin - so your test drive on those wooded, hilly winding roads brought back memories! Thanks & hope Mason’s knee is on the mend!
The Sport And Touring are the only Models that come in Boost Blue and the Pearl Gray. Big drawback for me. The ExL only comes in Basic, black, white silver varieties and red colors. That purpleish color is a waste to me.. It's basically Silver. Great review though. Thank you.
I don't know about you, but I'd trust an analog fuel gauge more than a digital one. It's way easier to read just how low on gas you are, as apposed to 1 bar of gas.
