    An Assistant Professor at the Department of Chemical Sciences and Investigator at SSPC, Soumya is a winner of the President’s Research Excellence and Impact Early Career Award in 2022. Soumya leads the team with focus in particular on by-design families of organic polymers and metal-organic (coordination) polymers are getting the team closer to enable disruptive new approaches to support environmental sustainability, such as carbon capture, water purification, light hydrocarbon separation, and toxic gas removal. Thanks to its far-reaching societal impact, as a research theme, drinking water purification greatly interests Soumya.

    These chemicals and plastics will cause exponentially worsening damage in individuals, then to society.

    The subject is quite Important and has almost been presented in a popular manner.
    More such lucid presentations are required for public awareness especially in developing nations.

    Dr Mukherjee, thank you….I’m speechless, and the societal (leadership) deafness/compliance is hugely disturbing - despite the obvious urgency. We keep on hearing about the ‘medical’ miracles ai will bringforth, are you contemplating utilising these technologies in your remediation/removal work?
