That's got to be one of my favourite things preparing for a newborn is getting all the little baby clothes down from the attic. Always find it strange when people see hand me downs as negative, I love nothing more than seeing each of my babies wear something their sibling did, so special xxx
Watching the littles gather around your tummy and interacting with Hannah...❤️❤️❤️...makes my heart smile! Love your pink and gold theme, too!!! Praying for you all!
I love watching y’all prepare for baby! I have serious baby fever right now.. my daughter will be 2 in June and I’m thinking after her birthday we will start trying for baby #2. Can’t wait for baby Hannah’s arrival! So soon! 💕
Love all your videos Andrea. Sweet sibling snuggles. You really are an inspiration to us all. Honestly your my favorite vlog. Can’t wait for baby Hannah.
what a charming vlog. The rose gold color theme is perfect! I love everything you bought for the welcome party! It was fun to watch you and your husband shop, too! you are a wonderful mother and have prepped so much including homemade baby products!
It’s so fun going on your preparation journey with you. It was one of my most joyful memories and it brings back those wonderful feelings. Thank you for sharing with us. You and Baby Hannah and the rest of your family are in my daily prayers. 💕
Andrea you are so brave doing this at home! I know it’s a very natural thing and women have done it for centuries but I would be terrified. I will be praying for you and your family. I’m so excited to see the new little one!
My 5th daughter (youngest) is having my 5th grandbaby, and we were at walmart looking around at the baby stuff the other day..i love the stainless steel bottles!! Such an exciting time ♡♡♡
I love your videos and your lifestyle. I don’t know why I get so caught up in petty things in life when how you live is what I want even though that sounds weird lol. Your videos are calming and make me happy lol.
Greetings from South Australia. Did you know that in Australia Raspberry Leaf Tea is used as an anti-nausea treatment, but NOT when pregnant. Saying that, midwives give it to overdue mothers to dilate the cervix (which is why its not taken in pregnancy)
Hi Andrea! I’m hoping all is well with you. Baby prep is really exciting! I do have one video suggestion, dental and normal health. My family has adopted some of your routine medical ideas you brought up (having the kids do eye tests at home and more herbs) so I’d love to see if we can steal some more ideas from you. Sending love and prayers your way!
Loved seeing your belly moving! ❤️ My husband also gets each new baby a stuffed toy as his gift to them-it’s always a stuffed mini Winnie the Pooh. It’s his special thing just from daddy. 😊
I saw on another channel a mom that made sachets for postpartum soothing baths for soreness. She had bought them but they had some of the same herbs you already have. Candula forgot how to spell that, Sheppard’s purse, lavender and maybe some other herbs. I thought you could make some for yourself if you needed!
Thanks so much for sharing these precious moments getting ready for the arrival of baby Hannah with us. On a side note: I haven't tried Chickweed for eczema (I read your response to someone else's comment where you mentioned it was good for eczema)...I will definitely be giving that a go. My youngest son and I have awful eczema and have been hydro-cortisone free for over a year now. I've tried licorice root and calendula (infused in olive oil) with some okay results but I'm still on the look out for new ideas as there hasn't been a 'magical cure' for us as yet. Thank you for all the info you share on herbal remedies. Can't wait for your baby shampoo recipe :) Beautiful video as always xoxo
Your videos are so great to watch at the end of a stressful day :) Can i ask if you have any concerns about Claudia being jealous of Hannah? Have you ever had that problem with previous new babies? Do you have a particular way of avoiding it? Will be thinking of you over these coming/remaining weeks!
Andrea, you are so very talented and knowledgeable about so many things, I know you don't have time right now to do it, but maybe someday you could sell your baby shampoo and lotions and tablecloths and such (on Etsy or from your own website). You are so gifted, I think you would do very well. Just a suggestion. Take care-Mary
We have an infant car seat in the attic that we'll use. We had the same one for our first 6 babies. I bought a new one for Sophia, which Claudia used... and now will be passed to Baby Hannah. It's a Graco Infant Car Seat in the Little Hoot fabric.
You should send away for formula samples from the different companies. I got 2 smallish canisters for free in the mail. It was great to keep around for spare.
it's so much fun to go through baby clothes 😍I save all my kids clothes. My kids don't take bottles.Did all your kids breastfeed ?and How long?I'm on my 6th and last he is 7months really cherishing this stage......My sister Name is Hannah. What size babies did you have?
I breastfed all of my babies. The boys all weaned themselves around 10 months, the girls all nursed until they were 14 months. Solomon was the exception. I cut him off finally when he was 27 months. (Sophia was 8 months old by then and I had been nursing both of them.) From smallest to largest, my babies were 7/15 (Asher), 8/4 (Judah), 8/7 (Eden), 8/11 (Claudia), 8/11 (Solomon), 8/13 (Thomas), 9/4 (Justus) and 9/13 (Sophia.) At least, I think that's what they all were. Memory starts to get fuzzy... :)
Since I am an older person I was totally unaware of metal or stainless steel bottles. So I take it that these bottles don't get heated? Remember the bottle warmers???
Andrea I'm curious if you ever worry about the gender ultrasound being wrong? 28 years ago my mom was told she was having a boy and a week before the baby was due they did another ultrasound and realized it was a girl! My sister was born 8 days later, luckily they were able to exchange a lot of the baby things. Same thing then happened to my sister except she thought she was having a girl and baby ended up being a boy! My nephew Benjamin is now 18 months old. Ultrasounds are pretty accurate nowadays so it is rare but still does happen!
It happened with me 21 years ago, right about the end of March. Went in to see if "she" had her head down and discovered there was a boy in there! I had had two baby showers with very girly themes and tons of great girl clothing. Thankfully, I had decorated the nursery in a bear theme. My mother and I ran around for the next week getting items exchanged. I think Andrea's in a better position than many if that were to be the case as she as boy items available stored in the attic.
We've joked many times that we might still get a surprise in the end. You never know! As Debbie mentioned, I've got boy stuff in the attic, too, and I've even got a whole set of boy receiving blankets, Moses basket sheets, etc. that I made previously that we could put into use. The only thing we'd have to put a rush order on is new party decorations. Who knows?!
A lot of companies will send those single packs of formula for free through the mail as samples. I hate to see you see spend the money on something you may not use. So for next baby I would definitely look into it. :)
My 1st boy was enduced at 42 wks with 9 lb 2 Oz and was a tramatic experience. I told my mom I would never have another baby .. after 2 miscarriages i didn't think i would have anymore and 15 years later I was blessed with my 2nd boy but labor was totally different I was terrified the whole pregnancy of the same thing happening but his enduced date was schedule at 39 weeks on the 11 of March but I started having mild cramps Friday the 7 well early sat morning it changed to a different cramping but nothing I wasn't used to cause of AF well I lost my mucus plug or what looked like it about 10am so I called doc and told him about the cramps he said it wouldn't nothing to worry about but go to hospital just to get checked I almost took a bath but didn't went in and got there about 1100 and got checked about 11 30 nurse said I was 9 cm called doc at 12 I was 10 he was fixing to break my water I freaked out and begged him for epi so he said since I was 10 that I might not make it but I was so scared from my birth 15 yrs before .. I made the epi and had him at 3 of course if I would have let break my water he would have came quick it was very easy labor no pain like the first but he could have waited one more day to be born on my bday. 2 years later my 3 son was to be enduced on the same day the 11 of March but I ended up being enduced at 39 weeks also this labor was worse than the first epi didn't work on one part of my stomach so every contraction was felt and he was also still high so I w as on fire back down hips and the nurse didn't tell us we could push the button to get more of the epimeds even after I told her it wasn't working .. so after being enduced 2 times vs having natural kinda birth I don't think I would ever have another induction . Andrea u are an amazing woman in everything you do and I wish you all the best with your home birth .. sorry this is long
Love the decor colors! I really would love to learn more about herbs. I'm sure you've suggested a book before. Have one to suggest? Solomon listening & feeling for the baby. That was so precious! She'll be here soon! I'm praying for ya!

I'm not sure if you'd feel comfortable answering this, but what is your stance on birth control? I saw in a previous comment that you and Tom have different opinions, and simply do as you feel you should. I think that's a great way to go about it, but was just curious about how that works; I would love to hear your perspective on that aspect of a relationship. All the best to you and your lovely family. Thank you so much for sharing these precious moments of your life with us.
I personally don't feel there's any need for us to prevent children (I'm talking about Tom and I, not people in general) so I don't wish to do so. Tom is more fearful of "letting go" of that part of our lives. Therefore, he prevents pregnancy if he feels the need, but he doesn't ask me to use birth control or take any measures on my part. It sometimes causes some emotional pain between us, but we both try to respect the other's feelings. We've come to a place of not trying to win the other to our point of view; rather we try to be as gentle with each other as possible. For me, that means acknowledging that we aren't in the same place as far as our faith goes and I can't push him to be me. For him that means he knows it makes me sad when he tries to prevent children and he's as kind and gentle with my emotions as he can be. There are two of us and we don't always see eye to eye, but we don't have to let it cause a big rift between us.
Andrea Mills Very well said. It's so refreshing to see the consideration between you and Tom in how you find solutions. A true exemplar of love and compassion.
you're definitely getting into the baby thing, Solomon is quite the doctor, Solomon when he is in a good mood is a big help to Eden and you, he can clear up the girl's bedroom really well., but he does play in there alolt as he is the same developmental stage. in your last video you said that one the game night the kids and Tom play video games, I know the 3 older boys have computer stations, but where do Eden and justess play
Justus used to use the laptop upstairs, but Tom just put a 4th computer in the library. Our TV upstairs is also a computer which is where Eden plays with all of them. Tom has another computer in his office, too. I don't let the kids use my computer, but if I did there'd be enough for all 8 of them to play with Tom.
thank you, I was being to think you were going to have to use the spare bunk in the boy's room as our spill, where did he find space in the library there is not much room there to spare in there.
I had a hard time with my first baby and used formula in addition to breastfeeding in the beginning. Once we got the hang of it, I totally breastfed. Also with my earlier babies, I used formula some during the second half of their first year. With my later babies, we just transitioned to milk as they weaned themselves.
Oh my! You are unbelieveably organised! If you dont end up using the formula, what do you do with it? Do you save it for the next baby, donate it, regift it, trash it or return it for refund? Just curious. After my 10th was born so fast and unexpectedly, (she wasnt due for 3 more weeks) i wish i had been this organised!
I think we've decided to film it, but I'll wait till afterward to decide if, or how much of it, we'll share with everyone. I'd like to be able to encourage other young women by sharing the birth, but I don't want to commit totally until I'm certain that I feel okay with sharing such a private thing.
It occurred to me recently that, since you have home births, even your youngest kids must have at least some idea of how the birth process takes place, yes? How do you explain that to the little ones? And at what age do you generally start talking about how the baby gets in there in the first place? Do you feel like, because you do so much at home, they might have more thoughts on the matter than kids who are sort of sheltered from that reality or is it about the same as most kids, in your experience? (To be clear, I'm all about openness with kids, within their ability to understand and feel comfortable with the information. These questions are pure curiosity about your relatively unusual (in our culture) situation, not judgment of any kind!)
I think all of the kids, except Claudia, have a basic concept about how babies are born. It's very important to me to help the kids first learn about sexuality in its true beauty.. for the creation of life... before they're exposed to the more base way it's presented within culture. That motivates me to be very open with the kids' questions because I never want them to feel embarrassed to ask me something. Even as teens, now, they don't seem to have any qualms about talking about things. I try to keep things age appropriate and not give more information than was requested. I figure as they're ready, they'll let me know. When they're little and want to know, we talk about how moms have a special opening made just for babies to come out of them and where that's located. Whenever we see animals "in the act" we use the opportunity to explain that God designed for the Daddy to fertilize the Mommy so they can have a baby and that it's just the same for people and for animals. And of course, they all know that breasts are made to feed babies and give them comfort. I hope they'll all be comfortable with birth and all that surrounds it. When Sophia was born, they were all there within minutes. Eden was actually present at Solomon's birth.
God Bless, Solomon is so sweet. I know that you are very natural and homeopathic, would you you be willing to share health and dental routines you practice for the kids? I would find that very interesting. But would totally understand if you preferred not to, also I would like to know what your stance is on vaccinations. Sending good vibes to you, Tom and the kiddos.
After Sophia was born, I had gallbladder attacks for about 6 months. I didn't do anything other then let them come and go. They were worse than labor and no baby to show for it! Almost 6 months to the day from the first one, I must've finished passing the stones because they stopped and I haven't had one since. Dr. Christopher has a gallbladder formula that my aunt found very helpful. www.amazon.com/Dr-Christophers-Original-Formulas-Capsules/dp/B000N38PMO/ There's also the gallbladder cleanse that is supposed to help get the stones out, but I haven't tried it. www.drdavidwilliams.com/gallbladder-flush-directions
Andrea did ur Mother do any home births with any of her children? Or with u? N are u seeing any sort of a Physician or Home Nurse or Mother's Center, Birthing Center, Mid- Wife ? N when ur in Labor who will be there besides Tom ? Family members n ur own children? Have any of ur Sister's had any home births ? N are their beliefs similar to yours ? Like herbs, natural meds, natural births - home births, mid wives? Homeschoolers ? Tfs
Overall, I'm a bit of an outlier in the group. I do what I think is best for us, and I don't begrudge anyone else for making different choices than we do. God leads us all as He wills and that rarely looks the same from one family to the next. My mom had all 5 of her babies in the hospital, but she was very supportive of my home birth. She died a few months after Eden was born (my first home birth), but if she'd lived, I'm sure she would've been supportive all the way through. She said she wished she'd maybe tried things differently as some traumatic things happened to her with a couple of her births. Grandma Fern, my mom's mom, is very supportive of our unassisted births, too. Her own mother birthed 9 children, most of them unassisted, and she remembers well the days when that was normal. Of my 3 sisters, only one of them (Ami) has children. All 4 of her babies were born in the hospital. She has been learning to use herbs herself in the last two years. Baby Cooper was born before the doctor arrived to the delivery room. I think the hormone herbs she was using helped her birth very quickly. She and her husband also homeschool their kids, though that was not always their plan. After having some experience in the school system, they decided they'd prefer to homeschool. I don't have the need to visit a medical professional as I haven't had any complications, but if something arose that needed attention, I'd see a doctor. I don't plan to have anyone else present for the birth. Tom did an excellent job assisting me with Sophia and I'm sure he'll do great this time around, too. He's been with me through 8 births and knows me better than anyone. I trust his judgment and he knows what to do if a need arises. (We'll call an ambulance if something happens that requires medical attention.) One of our local home health nurses has asked if she could be present because she's never had children nor seen a birth, but I'd prefer not to have anyone else there. The home health nurse will come over after the birth if I need a RhoGam shot and she'll sign our birth certificate paperwork for use. Our local home health agency is really good to us. They were some of our very first customers for our computer business and we've known many of them for years. (I've known the owner of the agency since I was a little girl.)
Andrea Mills ty so much for answering my comments I've been watching ur Channel since the beginning I've enjoyed ur Family very much ur my favorite channel. My Mother told us when she was alive that her Mother my Gramma had all her children with home births 14 children three sets of twins this was very normal in there day's. It must be so nice to be able to not have to buy any or not so many clothes! So glad you breastfeed! Your children are all so beautiful. Xxx

Hi Andrea, I am getting so excited, the closer you get. Did you ever mention an exact due date?
It's April 12.
O.K. I will mark it on the calendar. :-)
Andrea, you are so very talented and knowledgeable about so many things, I know you don't have time right now to do it, but maybe someday you could sell your baby shampoo and lotions and tablecloths and such (on Etsy or from your own website). Loves your videos Andrea. Can wait to meet baby Hannah. A question is that shampoo good for eczema skin?
Chickweed is really good for eczema. You can get Chickweed ointment on Amazon or just rinse skin daily with Chickweed tea.
Very nice video!
What about a car seat? Are you able to use the one from Claudia or did you get a new one?

Since I am an older person I was totally unaware of metal or stainless steel bottles. So I take it that these bottles don't get heated? Remember the bottle warmers???
I've never seen stainless steel, either. I would imagine you have to heat them on the stove or in a warmer rather than a microwave.
Set them in a cup of boiling water. I guess you would have to worry about the outside being hot to the touch

Andrea u are an amazing woman in everything you do and I wish you all the best with your home birth .. sorry this is long
Lovely
Solomon has such a sweet sweet spirit . I would snuggle him all day lol
I'm really good at crocheting please give me a theme for Hanna i would love to make her something:)
I'm really good at Mickey and Minnie mouse.
I think it would be special if you made whatever it is that you enjoy most. Minnie would be cute since she wears red and Hannah's "color" is red.

He just scooted the other computers and put a 4th one on the desk.
sardines have more room on that desk!!!!
Have you been able to breastfeed all your children?/Have you ever had to use formula?
In the past, I've kept it in the pantry, just in case, until it was past its expiration date. I threw it out once that happened.
Glad to see you are very open about sexuality with your children!
I really need to be more organized!
I miss Andrea :(
Why don’t you pump? Just a question I am just curious :)
I've just never felt the need to. I keep the baby with me all of the time for the first year or so, so I don't need to store milk.
Andrea Mills ohhh I see! Yeah it’s wonderful for the baby because you’re always home with the kids! I can’t wait for baby Hannah to be here
Any concoctions for migraines... despite for relief.. HUGS. I am pay pal ready if needed..
Hi andrea. This might be a wierd question but are you going to be filming your birth?
I think we've decided to film it, but I'll wait till afterward to decide if, or how much of it, we'll share with everyone. I'd like to be able to encourage other young women by sharing the birth, but I don't want to commit totally until I'm certain that I feel okay with sharing such a private thing.
what are all their names and ages?
What a fantastic way to raise a family. Thank you for responding so quickly! Your answer makes me really happy. Not at all surprised, but happy. :-)
I love Solomon

God Bless, Solomon is so sweet. I know that you are very natural and homeopathic, would you you be willing to share health and dental routines you practice for the kids? I would find that very interesting. But would totally understand if you preferred not to, also I would like to know what your stance is on vaccinations. Sending good vibes to you, Tom and the kiddos.
If you go to the playlist homemade healthcare you may find most of the answer in the first video in the list that’s a QandA
Heather Micola Thank-You
When are you due?
April 12.
Kind of unrelated but have you ever suffered from gallbladder issues. What is a good thing to help
When's your due date?

Did you take a class on herbs or did you just learn from reading and the internet?
I took the Family Herbalist correspondence course from the School of Natural Healing about 8 years ago. Since then, I've just studied on my own.
